This morning’s New York Times appears to have beaten Ninty’s press conference to the punch:

Price: $250 (Only time a Nintendo console has launched in the US not at $200)
Date: Nov. 19, 2006 (2 days after PS3)
Wii games at launch: 25-30
Virtual Console Games at launch: 30
VC price: $5-$10/game, depending on original system (a little high… :( [...]

The Japanese Wii Event reported in the previous post is coming earlier than expected. It’s going on RIGHT NOW (as I write), which is hours earlier than expected. Still no announcements, but if you want to follow it like I am, try these two sites, who are providing live coverage:

Not really Star Fox news, but relevant. Just letting you all know, so it won’t come as a surprise, Nintendo will be putting on a Wii Event in both Japan and America on September 14, 2006. There is a similar event scheduled for the next day in Europe.
