As you may remember, Star Fox for the Wii has been speculated about by none other than Shigeru Miyamoto, stating how a Wii controller might be used in a theoretical Star Fox game, which he neither confirmed, nor denied being in development.
A few days ago, Takaya Imamura, the producer of Star Fox Command, spoke to Nintendo of Europe and mentioned the following about Star Fox for Wii:
“I wonder how the adventure of Fox and friends is going to go next time?! I have come up with some idea in my mind but it is still just a small one. I will try my best so that I can deliver it to you some time!”
This is far more of a confirmation than what Mr. Miyamoto said. In fact, unless Takaya Imamura was seriously overstating everything he said, I think this is pretty much a confirmation that Star Fox Wii is in development. Let’s hope they have some great gameplay in store for us.
Secondly, 1up two days ago released a featured article about games that never were. Star Fox 2 was the first one they talked about.
Thirdly, I’ve run across an old Star Fox 64 Beta video. This is a different one than on Arwinglanding.net. Interesting to see how far graphics have come since then. YouTube SF64 Japan Beta Video
Finally, it’s almost Valentine’s Day and Play-Nintendo has been getting into the spirit with Nintendo themed valentine cards. Most of them are pretty funny, including this Star Fox themed one: You WILL be my valentine!
That’s all the Star Fox news I have for now. See you next time!
