G4 recently got ahold of Dylan Cuthbert and asked him a few questions about the future of Star Fox.
Cuthbert has revealed the following:
1. He would like to wait 10 years before working an another SF game.
2. SFWii would require a large dev team that Q Games cannot set up right now
3. Furries?
4. He thinks the Wii is a toy.
5. He doesn’t feel that the Wiimote would make a good controller for Star Fox, though motion plus might.
6. He says that Miyamoto doesn’t care what fans think, and that Miyamoto feels that SF is about more than just Arwings
So, there you have it. Q Games is out for SF Wii. This doesn’t mean that we won’t see SFWii, but it is sad to see one of the key people behind Star Fox have a detachment like this. We could still get it from EAD. We could still get it from another second or third party developer.
Cuthbert is a high-up at Q-Games, so it is a definate that the next SF game will not come from Q Games. The Hot Potato gets passed again. To whom? We don’t know yet.

He needs to think again with Wii; however, I do agree with him saying what Miyamoto because to be honest, us fans needs to shut up and liten to him. If we don’t like his idea, then WE are not the true Star Fox Fans. I on the other hand don’t even care what Mr. Miyamoto does with the Star Fox game and I agree because who would want to have Fox and his teammates sitting on their butts in their Arwing 24/7? Not me. I love how it went with Star Fox Assault; a little bit of Arwing, a little bit of Landmaster, and others. We DO NEED some stuff for star Fox other than Arwings. Believe me, I love Arwings too, but like what Miyamotot said, “This game should be more than just Arwings.” A true Star Fox Fans like me should ALWAYS agree what Nintendo is going to put in the Star Fox games.
Shigeru Miyamoto…Thanks for telling the fans about this. ^_^ You are out of this world. Keep it up!
Now that I think of it, I kinda see why he thinks the Wii is a toy. I mean, look how they advertise it! As much I love Nintendo, (N64, NES, SNES) I don’t really like the Wii all that much. I doubt the next Starfox would even make it to the Wii at all. Maybe the next console.
Yeah I agree, its more than the arwings. I personally like the newer games because of the fact that your not just in arwings. Dont get me wrong Being the arwing is fun, but its also fun on land to. Im still looking foreward to a new game in the future .:)
Aside from Miyamoto’s comment, I’d say this is a fairly severe blow to this fanbase. I was looking forwards to a new game coming out soon. Yeah, sure, mix it up a bit… everyone loves the Arwing, but you lose a lot of character depth if you stick just to the same school of thought. As for completely skipping over the Wii? It seems to me that this would either mean one of two things: the series is over (VERY BAD NEWS), or they’re going to look for a new fan base… possibly even start from scratch all over again. Oh well, I hope they do come out with a new SF game soon. If they don’t, we’ll have to settle with fan fic’s for now.
Just because Q Games isn’t making it doesn’t mean there won’t be SFWii.
As a reply to DZComposer, I think we all hope that is the case…
I really, really, really hope for a SFWii. If they just could take all the features from Assault and improve them a bit, throw in 16+ online ( :D ) and split screen, and this game would be perfect! Please Nintendo! :) I have faith in you…
i belive the wii has a way but the way their doing it is for more on little kids insteed of real gamers ( sad really ) somehow what happens to starfox they might come on the next system cause the wii is just drawing the attention of kids saying 10 and under cause looks whats came out mostly E10+ games barley any T or M games im a huge starfox fan i been waiting for a new one but all this crap Wii Fit and Wii music is just not what gaming is about its just somthing to buy time or just to entertain and draw more to nintendo to be honest nintendo’s losing their power but with the next system…it may turn out right….least i hope….nintendo…don’t let starfox die… it drew me to nintendo….if fox goes then so do i…
Well actually it was some time ago….ha! beat you to the punch on that one.
Im agree with Dark Fox, starfox is one of da few classics and more powerful games nintendo has, dont let Fox go just like Conker(one of da best games in nintendo´s history) if u wanna talk with me, my msn is blackship_@hotmail.com
I agree with Dark Fox. If Star Fox goes, I go. The only thing holding me to Nintendo, the only reason I’ve never bought a another console is because of Star Fox. Don’t you let this die Miyamoto, or I will lose all respect for you. E3 Nintendo Conference just ended– no Star Fox. That means it’ll be atleast another 2 years folks. A new Metroid was announced though- maybe now Nintendo can focus on their other leading franchise- Star Fox.
