Star Fox – Game Informer Says the Franchise is Likely to Return

In the March issue of Game Informer, the American magazine put out every month by Gamestop, an article was run about game franchises that haven’t been seen for a while. The article, titled “Missing in Action?”, mentioned such franchises as Sly Cooper, SSX, and yes, Star Fox! The bit, though short, said that the likelihood of Star Fox’s return was “average”. It says that Miyamoto still likes the franchise, but it has gone through a host of developers. “Perhaps Nintendo is waiting for a studio that can demonstrate they’ve got a winning plan for Fox”. Perhaps? The time between Star Fox 64 and Star Fox Adventures was 5 years, and it hasn’t been that long since Star Fox Command. Maybe there’s hope yet! What do you think?

Dylan Cuthbert most enjoyed working on Star Fox

In an interview with Develop, Dylan Cuthbert was asked about his favorite game to he developed. Glad to see the love remains by the original creators.

Of all the games you have been involved with in the past, what has been your favourite, and why?
That would have to be StarFox – the SNES version – it was a rush from beginning to end. Recently, PixelJunk Shooter was a blast to make too. I think each game as I am making it is my favourite.

Star Fox Marathon Complete

It looks like Team Wolf wins this time! Although there was a technical difficulties for Team Fox, they lost 5 hours. They may try and bring it back later, but we don’t know.

Star Fox Marathon for a Charitable Cause

In just two days, a grand Star Fox Marathon will take place. This is like the Zelda Marathons of a few months ago, except this time, the players have split themselves into two teams. Each will be competing not only to complete all the Star Fox games, but also to achieve various challenges in those five games (which includes Star Fox themed challenges in the Smash Bros. Series). They have only 36 hours to complete as many as they can.

They are trying to raise at least $2000 for the World Food Programme, so please consider donating during the marathon. The World Food Programme’s goal is to reduce world-wide hunger.

The marathon begins January 1st, 2010, starting at 12 Noon Eastern Standard Time. If the stream is embedable, I will try and post it on here.

Wild Andross Appears!

Gallery Change

I’m about to make a big change to our gallery system. Expect the gallery to be offline for at least a few hours, if not a couple days (though I honestly don’t expect it to be that long. I will update this post with more info as I get it.

Updates
Nov. 29th, 9:14 PM – Scratch that idea, our server’s backend is down. I can’t start yet.
Nov. 30th, 5:45 PM – Trying again. The Gallery may be broken or missing for a time.
Nov. 30th, 8:00 PM – Done. ZenPhoto is a breath of fresh air in comparison to Gallery 2 administration. I haven’t set up all the options, customized the theme, or added my new images yet, but everything you could find in the old gallery is back online.
