I'm just curious if you guys are interested in a novelty map night. Basically, we'd play novelty maps for a night and have just general screw-around, non-seriouos, fun.

Novelty maps include (Most of these are not on the server, and may not be):
Pipeball
Ring King
The Skating Rink
Minepit
Kakariko
Balloon Race
Mario Kart (MAYBE... If I can find a version that does not have against-the-server-rules images all over the walls)
koth_grid
Whale Race
pl_donkey_kong
koth_pacman_wtf
rats_tequila
Toyfort

Thoughts? Suggestions?

The problem is picking a good day to play novelty maps on. We tend to fill up weekends often :(

I'd be interested for sure, derping around and doing jack squat is my specialty, but I agree with Rob that it would be hard to choose a night.

EDIT: You're missing KOTH_Megaman on there. Played it on TFP servers, it's a really well done map.

I think this would be fun. Some novelty maps are actually well made so we wouldn't always be not-serious.
And they're also novelty maps, so they're fun already.

I would say Sunday, but we do tend to have spontaneous games that night pretty often…
So if not Sunday I would choose Thursday, but then people would leave early… *shrug*

Perhaps we could do something like… one week we have normal Friday & Saturday, then the next week either Friday or Saturday is the Novelty night, but the other is the same. Next week they're both normal again, and so on…

I was thinking of this more being a less-often-than-weekly thing. IE, one of our regular nights could suffice maybe once a month. If we do it regularly at all. What about this Saturday?

BTW, novelty maps should be available for nominate any time someone wants to play one, but they should not come up for random votes.

Current novelty maps on the server are:
Degroot Keep (I consider it a novelty map due to the ridiculous inadequacies of medieval mode)
Minepit
Pipeball
Ring King

I am seriously considering adding The Skating Rink even if we don't do a Novelty Night. That map looks like loads of fun.

An unofficial Sunday gamenight sounds like the best idea to me. A lot of us gather on Sunday, and we could just simply keep nominating the silly maps as the night goes on.
