Referring back to no-scoping, I wonder what was going through a person's head when they thought of using a sniper rifle in a completely ridiculous manner...
Usually for me it's "Oh god I don't want to die and he is too far away for me to melee him. Just shoot! No time to aim!"

The amount of times I heard, "Bambambambambambambambambambambam *reload pause* bambambambambambambambambambam *dead*" in BF3 beg to differ.
Most snipers in BF3 can't aim for shit. Also BC2 and CoD. Basically any FPS game. When you face a good sniper, you know it.

That's what I meant. The noobs will try to CoD snipe and it just won't work… until it finally does. After two magazines or something.

Sniping in the real world consist of laying on your ass for 3 days at a time in a desert/muddy perch while you carefully turn dials and gears to compinsate for windshear...

This is why i hate gamer-snipers with their quickscoping. This is also why I normally outfit with an M4 Carbine(or the equivalent) and an orifice knife then go on an all out assault...Those camping bastards never no what hit them...

ON TOPIC: Dude play yo way...the way that lets u win

You forgot one: "Looool CoD's for noobs, BF3 is better, moar relisticz stufz and lezz nub"

But... that's true. D:

On topic, quickscopers make me lol hard, and I'm glad TF2's sniping doesn't allow that due to how the hitscan weapons work. I once saw a hilarious video of some loser Sniper-dueling on a map, he kept running around, making fail quickscopes, and kept dying to the other guy who was hardscoping.

It made me lol.

This is pretty funny considering I'm pretty much one of the annoying CoD snipers... I always use a Barrett with an acog scope and run around the map mid/close range sniping people. I do take the time to aim, but I use it as more of a single shot assault rifle. In BF3, however, quick scoping doesn't work which is fine for me because I like legit sniping much better.

I kinda miss the old Call of Duties where any bolt action would essentially be a one hit kill and as a result "hardscoping" was effective since any shot would work well, instead of having to play dodgeball with snipers at 5 feet away.

Hardscoping? I've only ever heard it being referred to as "Quickscoping."

Hard scoping is not quick scoping. Quick scoping is where there's less than a second between aiming and firing.

What hardscoping entails is looking down your scope for a perioud of time greater than one second, making sure the shot is lined up, and holding your breath if need be. In other words, it means aiming properly. This is considered a cheap, skilless, noob tactic.
