Rule number one about becoming a staff member: DO NOT BEG. Beggars get their applications deleted without consideration.

Staff members are selected based on need and openings.

If you want to be a mod, the first thing to do is check the staff roster thread for positions marked "OPEN." That doesn't mean that they will be filled, but if you want to be a full mod, and there are no OPEN spots, then sorry, it won't happen unless the community grows to a point that more mods are needed or if a mod resigns.

Once you have determined an opening, wait for the announcement. When the announcement is made, an application will be posted. Fill it out and PM it to me.

IF THERE IS NO ANNOUNCEMENT, THE POSITION IS NOT BEING FILLED.

ONLY MODS CAN BECOME ADMINS!

SFO Staff Selection Procedures:
1.The Lead Forum Admin will determine that there is a need for additional staff.

2.The Lead Forum Admin will announce to the community which positions are available, and will post the appropriate set of qualifications.

3.Members will submit applications via PM to the Lead Forum Admin.

4.Applications from members who do not qualify or who continuously beg for staff positions will be discarded.

5.The remaining applications will be posted to the staff board.

6.The staff members will voice recommendations as to which applicants are suited and which are not.

7.The Lead Forum Admin will select an appointee from the applicants.

8.The Lead Forum Admin will create a poll in the Announcements board for confirmation of the applicant.

9.The poll will remain open for one week (seven days).

10.The appointee will be confirmed as a staff member if more than 50% of the votes cast are for confirmation.

11.The new staff member will be given a copy of the staff guidelines.

12.Upon acceptance of the guidelines, the new staff member will be given access to all needed features and boards.


SFO Staff Qualifications:
Full Moderator:
* Must be an active member for at least six months.
* Must not have gotten into any major trouble with the staff
* Knows the board rules and follows them
* Has a good attitude
* favorable reputation in the community

Fanwork/RP Moderator:
* Must be an active member for at least six months and active in RP at SFO or elsewhere (Proof must be provided) for at least three months.
* Is willing to read through RPs and Fanfics, even if they are not interesting
* Must not have gotten into any major trouble with the staff
* Knows the board rules and follows them
* Has a good attitude
* favorable reputation in the community

Administrator
* Must be an active Full Moderator for at least one year.
* Performed all duties autonomously and with good discretion
* Abides by the Staff Guidelines
* Has not used mod powers in an inappropriate manner
* Has Good Attitude
* favorable reputation in the community

I'd love to be a mod, but I haven't been on here long enough. Plus, I don't have a stable amount of internet time. *sighs*

I would like to be a mod, but I probably and up breaking the rules myself. Also, some people would think of me as this big giant **** that has nothing to do all day but give them warnings.

We are only looking for a RP mod right now and probably someone to fill my old position as well ( in the months to come, I assume)

I enjoy simple membership and the freedom to post when and where I see fit.
also it requires quite a bit of work.
so yes I am unfit for the job.

same here. i joined for a place to post my fanfic. my buddy at school thought id sunk to a new low when i started wasting class time writing it, but hes read it and changed his mind.. at least about the new low part. it really cool to get some feedback on my story.

This place is relatively quiet. I'm disappointed that some of the members I knew when I joined have disappeared into the void.
