Hackers, Cheaters, Griefers, and other rule violators.

If you notice a rule violator:
1. DO NOT alert the violator that you're on to him.
2. Check if an admin is in-game. If so, say something, preferably through Steam IM.
3. Check the Steam Friends List to see if one of the admins is on (HINT: Friend OneWinged or I). If so, send us a Steam IM. We'll check it out. You can do this in-game by Shift+Tab to bring up Steam.
4. If no admin is available, take a screenshot (F5) or demo. Screenshots are fine for language or bad sprays and some greifing, but for hacks you'll need a demo. To record a demo, make sure your dev console is enabled. Open it and type record demo. It will record a demo file. Open console again and type stop to stop recording. Upload the demo to MediaFire or similar site and post it here.
Make sure your screens/demos clearly catch the offender in action. This may require spectating a player. Press spacebar in spec to view from their POV. The files should save to your tf2 directory. (%STEAMDIR%\steamapps\%USERNAME%\Team Fortress 2\tf)
5. Get their steamID or playername. That way I can look them up in hlstats to add them to the banfile.
6. Post the proof and SteamID here. If your proof is good, they'll be banned.
IT IS RECOMMENDED TO HAVE YOUR CONSOLE ENABLED, IT IS DISABLED BY DEFAULT. This is for several reasons. A: you can look up steam IDs with the status command, or if you get stuck you can suicide with kill. In addition to recording demos.
To turn it on:
Options > Click Advanced on the keyboard tab > Enable developer console.
Type ` (usually left of 1, paired with ~) to bring it up. Esc will get you back to game quicker, but will leave the console open if you Esc out again. Just close the console window to get rid of it.

That means little when a 20 second video of spectating on a aimbotter never missing provides concrete evidence that he's using hax.

Those guys are very very rare. If there were a serious issue with guys like that, the SCRDS forums and mailing lists would be full of people begging Valve to fix the issues they are exploiting.
I'm a member of a group called No-Heroes that I play with when our server is empty. They are huge and probably have the largest number of tf2 servers of any group. They also have their fair share of haters. This group has yet to be hit by one of your so-called pro hackers. And they handle reporting of hackers in a manner similar to this.
I am not going to ignore douchebags who want to cheat on our server just because there are a handfull of guys out there who may know how to get around Steam logins or join spec without the server registering it.

If I were there, I would have kicked them with the message 'never ask an admin to leave his own server' but I wouldn't ban over it unless they were told by an admin to stop and didn't.
