[Fira-Astrali]

Well, I was asked to post when i left/ returned to the forum, and I did that, and im pretty sure I was talking about going to see Asper over the summer before I left. My time clock thread is clearly marked with my name, here it is I've been gone in Norway for the last three weeks and you guys have to agree that no one wants to be working when they're on vacation

I'm not on just when Asper is on. At least I assume not, because I pop in whenever I have a break in my day, and check threads, even if i don't post in them. I still maintain that sometimes I dont have a whole lot to say, and I really don't want to post unless I feel i have something to add. That said, I do accept that i need to post more, and since I've been back from Norway I've been trying to improve. I think my post count will go up once I'm back in school bc i'll be back into a routine. Right now things are up in the air trying to get prepared.

You know what this staff needs? A staff purge, an honest to god staff purge.
Next to NONE of the staff ever does it’s job anymore if they are even around to do it.

Fira and Asper are to busy trying to make everyone believe they're NOT covering each-other’s ass to even do there OWN job correctly.

“User” is too busy being power hungry claiming that he “can’t do shit” when it’s well within his power and reason to do stuff, he just chooses not to.

SARA never posts, and when she does it’s something completely stupid. And even eggs on drama and sit’s back and watches the sparks fly.

WHERE THE HELL IS ODD!?! I never, EVER, see him, an absent person cannot do his job.

Redeemer needs to learn to PUT HER FOOT DOWN, so much potential going down simply cause she won't speak up.

Sylam has the same problem Odd does, he is NEVER HERE. An absent person cannot do the job.

Seriously, that's a little bit too much, you are the only person complaining that bad. The forum is not on fire so the staff is obviously doing something. We are not going to purge like that.

Odd is on testing grounds right now, if he doesn't become active again, he will step down.
Sylum said he will be back once he gets his irl issues off. Again, probation.

To be honest though, the Fira issue I have stood by since like, last year.

I dunno about Odd and Sylum though. Sylum I am very sure isn't coming back, if the reason I heard behind his leave is true, and Odd I've just not seen.

Let's not have a staff flame war. Yeah, it is obvious a good portion of the moderation team don't do as much as certain other mods, but in the end, Steve is right in the sense that the site isn't dying or on a limb, so purging really isn't a great idea, as that would cause drama, and that would cause blah, blah blah blah blah and then lead to an even bigger chain reaction. Blah, in this case, is very easy to substitute for yourself as that just only more chain reactions can be caused by a purge. Not to mention a purge would never really happen, at least, from my perspective.

Seeing as you have problems with all the staff members, may I come with a suggestion?
You see, there's this site called Starfox-Galaxies which is a brilliant alternative for those who view the SF-O staff team as antichrist.

Alternatively, you can try to sit down and relax for a bit. We do know it's a stressful time for you at the moment, but taking it out on us isn't the right course of action. If you need someone to talk to about it, then there's plenty of people willing to lend an ear. I'm a PM away.

Well, I personally am going to stay out of this, as I really am bleh about this all, but other than really "make her come online more" or "make her leave the mods" I am not sure they are going to have any other answers for what they want in this case. *Shrugs*

I WILL admit I was rash and madding, but that doesn't change the fact issues exists, and that if they were at least dampened the staff board would be SO much more efficient. It really seems like some of you have just let it all go and don't care anymore. also a purge isn't needed, like I said I was being rash and I apologize, but you DO need a self repair.

With regards to Shroom's post it sounds kind of extreme don't you think? From what I see a lot of it is completely unfounded and in my particular case contradictory.

If it ain't broke don't fix it? As a general rule of thumb the less drama a site has the less the mods/admins seem to be "doing their job" - mainly because there isn't as much work for them to do. We haven't had a major huge drama fest on SF-O in quite some time now so excuse us for not doing our job if there isn't a real big mess to clean up. In fact, in past instances of drama that have happened on SF-O have been handled admirably - I'm sure if you were to ask the "silent majority" of SF-O members they would very much agree.

Like others have already pointed out the last time this was really a concern was quite some time ago, I haven't seen any recurring instances of this to my knowledge.

This is completely contradictory. If I'm power hungry as you make me out to me than it's only natural that I wouldn't say that I "can't do shit" because I WOULD be taking control of some situation or what not. Why would I act power hungry and then just choose not to do anything? It makes absolutely no sense. Furthermore, please give me specific examples and not just generalizations because I honestly have no idea what you're talking about.

Lots of people make posts here that to many people would be considered "completely stupid". Heck I make posts form time to time that are pretty silly in itself. Why does every post on this site have to be "not stupid"? That's in the eye of the beholder. Once again, specific examples would help and not blanket generalizations.

Redeemer has done a fine job from what I've seen in stopping drama before it happens. Most of the time when she deals with it it's when I'm at work so I often don't see what's happened until I get home from days that can sometimes be up to 12 hours long, such as today.

Sylum's reasons are more "acceptable" than Odd's are, but again, this is being taken care of.

You have been very vague with your entire post and have make it sound like desperate changes are needed but, and to be honest, quite frankly I can't think of any recent examples that are of that level of urgently that they have to be addressed immediately (besides the ones I agreed with you on concerning staff attendance and thus not being available to do their job as a result. You've called out every single staff member and with half of your suggestions I really don't know what specifically you are referring to. D:

the staff in my honest oppion is quite fine but they are only human. they have, are, and will make mistakes. If any of you think you can do a better job then start your own forum i am quite pleases with the staff here. I am a little disapointed ;however, it seems that the staff doesn't particpaite in topics enough. For exsample. Redeemer had alot more oppions and was a more oppionaded poster before coming staff. But after the "transformation" she was seemingly on the fence keeping her oppions to her self as if she was being poloticly correct. ALOT of the staff are like this. becoming staff shouldn't change how or what you post, it should only be DZ handing the person some responsiblities. What i trying to say is they seem to act more like police and less like users, and thats not very fun.

I have heard alot of rumors about the staff and some of the stuff they have pulled of aswell....While i hold no grudges i certianly hope it isn't true.

I'm sorry you think my posts are stupid, btw. I would also like to state, that since becoming a mod, I have not "egged on drama and sat back to watch the sparks fly." I used to occasionally be involved before I was a mod, but after, never. You will note that I ALWAYS tell people to TONE IT DOWN, and have not been involved on a personal level in quite some time. I do not ENJOY drama at all. Why the hell would I want to egg it on? All the problems you seem to have have to deal with old issues that we've figured out.

(Yes, I did wait a couple of days before posting this, because of the sheer amount of rage that I was feeling. I do not like being misrepresented, and the things you said simply weren't representative of the way I currently interact with the community at large) You owe us more than an afterthought apology tacked on the middle of a post.

Either way, I really think it is best to really stop all the "being a mod isn't gratifying" talk honestly, because people wanna do it, and for a reason. I work at a daycare, and hate kids. I do this because as much as they can piss me the hell off, I know I am making their experience better, giving them something I was never really able to have at my daycares in the past. It sucks with the crazy hours, random being held in and let off early, and random calls to be needed; But it makes me happy knowing I am able to help them and make a difference.

Sure, Asper and others might not like being mods, but there are people who are inspired to deal with that stress and work and looking through the forums because they have their own reasons. Not just for fun.

this is the staff improvment try to take somthing constructive from it. You may nto agree with what we are saying but Sara.....We are saying what we apprently see

You've said this about me before, AJC, and I let it slide because I understand that, seen as I'm staff, I can't post exactly what's on my mind because, sometimes, what's on my mind can start a fire. But I must ask you, how am I not participating as much? I post more now than I ever did, look at my post count. It's soared over the past month, and that's just from fooling around with everyone else here.

There's a difference between constructive criticism and raging, we accept the first, we don't comply with the second. Imagine for a second if we were to have a "Member improvement topic" and we were to rage for every little mistake you guys do.

Going "I think you should be more professional while handling issues and your method kinda pulls more drama around" is acceptable, going "what you post is dumb" is not even criticism, it's just fair and straight mean.
