Well, coming up next month is the big hosting renewal. That means it is time to do something I hate doing, and that is asking for donations.

On Sept. 6, I will be billed at least ~$290 for the hosting plan renewal, but possibly much more if they offer to bundle the VPS cost in with it (VPS costs are on top of hosting costs). The last few months have been tight for me financially, so I would really appreciate some help covering this bill.

Here is how donations work: Click the donation button, and you will be redirected to a DreamHost page. (DH recently redesigned their website, so the CSS file for the page no longer exists and it looks REALLY ugly, but the page should still work. I did let them know about it.). Put in how much you want to donate, and you will be taken to PayPal. After submitting PayPal, your money will go straight into the hosting account. I never get to see it, nor do I have access to it.

If you donate, send my a PM with your PayPal e-mail address or e-mail me from your PayPal e-mail with your forum username, and you will get a little "Donor" badge under your name in forum posts. I am also looking into giving donors a little icon over your head and the inability to be killed at the end of the round on the TF2 server.

Hopefully, this is the last time I have to do this. After I graduate I should be able to have enough income to cover this bill next time.

The minimum it will allow you to donate is 50 cents. Though that's hardly a drop in the bucket. lol

If you need loans, I doubt you are in a finantial situation to donate to stuff. Plus if that was the case, I'd imagine DZ could get his own loan?

I think people have the right to donate to a cause if they want to, regardless of whether they need a loan for it, or will be in debt because of it.

DZ's not telling us to go into debt because we need to donate. If we can't donate, then that's perfectly fine. But people are able to judge for themselves on their money situation.

Right. But if you are in a situation where you need a loan, luxeries, no matter how nobal or feel good, are things you should be extremely sparse with. To me, it's a bit like getting a loan and spending it on pizza and chocolate, but whatever. It's her call, I just find it confusing.

Sabre, do you realize the amount of money it would take to go into debt by donating to here? It would be an insane amount!

He's only asking for like 5 bucks, not 500. If we want to give him that then that's our choice!
