New Staff Position: RP Mod

Hey guys, since our previous RP mods have taken a break to deal with college, jobs and such, we're now accepting applications for a new RP moderator. Please fill in the application below and send it to me via PM. Do not post your application here.

Make sure you fill in the form correctly, and read all the questions carefully. If you can't do this I will not consider your application.

Also, make sure you fit all the required qualifications. Applicants that do not fit them will also not be considered. If you are curious about how we as staff decide things, please see the Staff Selection Procedures I have included in this post.

I will close this thread in one week and the new moderator will be decided.

Qualifications:

* Must be an active member for at least six months and active in RP at SFO or elsewhere (Proof must be provided) for at least three months.

* Is willing to read through RPs, even if they are not interesting.

* Must not have gotten into any major trouble with the staff.

* Knows the board rules and follows them.

* Has a good attitude.

* Favorable reputation in the community.

SFO Staff Selection Procedures:

1. The Lead Forum Admin will determine that there is a need for additional staff.

2. The Lead Forum Admin will announce to the community which positions are available, and will post the appropriate set of qualifications.

3. Members will submit applications via PM to the Lead Forum Admin.

4. Applications from members who do not qualify or who continuously beg for Staff positions will be discarded.

5. The remaining applications will be posted to the Staff board.

6. The Staff members will voice recommendations as to which applicants are suited and which are not.

7. The Lead Forum Admin will select an appointee from the applicants.

8. The Lead Forum Admin will create a poll in the Announcements board for confirmation of the applicant.

9. The poll will remain open for one week (seven days).

10. The appointee will be confirmed as a Staff member if more than 50% of the votes cast are for confirmation.

11. The new Staff member will be given a copy of the Staff guidelines.

12. Upon acceptance of the guidelines, the new Staff member will be given access to all needed features and boards.

GEE IT'S ALMOST LIKE THIS HAS ALWAYS BEEN A PROBLEM

GLAD TO SEE THAT ALL IT TOOK WAS ONE STAFF MEMBER TO RESIGN FOR THE WHOLE SUBFORUM TO FALL APART

srsly I called all this crap earlier. Is under control, you says. All staff members double as RP mods, you says.

It still is under control, just so happens that many people have a lot of shit going on in their real life at the moment, so we're taking extra staff to deal with the pressure from people that say shit about us.

We can't control every event that causes us to be away from SFO. I'm still here, as is Fox. I'm on SFO all the time.

Oh, and FYI, it would help if people actually PMed us about crap going on in the RP board. But you all seem to expect us to be watching everything, constantly, and dude. I'm a student with a job, I'm doing more with my life right now than people who are RPing, but I'm still damn good at my job here. I have never had a PM about someone wanting help with a troubled RP, but if I ever did, I'd be on it instantly.

I support this message; any staff member that I've PM'd for any reason has always responded in a timely manner, including former RP mods. If you look at the circumstance like a police force it makes sense; patrolling the streets catches small tidbits here and there but the majority of information comes from call-ins, or PMs in this case.

Meh, no sense keeping the cat in the bag anymore I guess, the way things are going and whatnot.

I've thrown my hat in the ring, and submitted my candidacy for the position of RP moderator.

That's that. I wish everybody good fortune and good spirits, and we'll see how it all goes. ^_^
