Well, if the rumour mills are correct, Nintendo is trying to buy back Rare. That might result in something, otherwise we'd have to cross our fingers for a leaked ROM, like Star Fox 2.

Well honestly, how could we get one hour of gameplay without it coming from some kind of a ROM/cart or otherwise playable build of the game?

To me, I find it hard to believe there was just a random hour of gameplay footage sitting around in an office for 10 years.

It was also not a solid hour of the same stage, but an abridged overview of several stages: the beginning, DarkIce Mines, Ice Mountain and what appears to be part of Cape Claw.

As for legal issues involving a ROM, well yeah, I doubt anyone wants it leaked, but that didn't really stop Star Fox 2 from winding up on the internet. Also why I brought up Nintendo's alleged plot to buy back Rare; their success may allow for a more legal re-release somehow.

That's not what I meant. I said that the gameplay in the video is clearly just a compilation of clips from a longer playthrough, edited so it isn't a million hours long. It's like any other gameplay trailer.

I have been on a high ever since I've been seeing new information about Dinosaur planet, including the 1-hour gameplay. When I read the information from RareMinion, I began to realize how Nintendo ruined not only the game, but also the Starfox franchise (not that SA is bad to me, but think about the lack of ideas for new games). I mean, look at what they Nintendo done to the villians in the game!

I'm thinking that a petition shoulld be signed for Dinosaur planet to become a real game than a faint memory. I am especially interested in the story that is meant to be. Heck, even if its on a Xbox 360, I'm going to by the copy anyway!

^I'd be willing to sign that petition, if you have it up. Although I'm not exactly sure what good a petition'll do, haha.

If it was possible to make this game how it was intended to be. I would like to see how different it is from Star Fox Adventures or if it is better.

The available content of Dinosaur Planet proves that the game isn't that much different then Adventures, barring Drakor and his rivalry with the Krazoa, Randorn and General Scales' involvement.

But it would be marvelous to experience the game the way it was supposed to be. As has been said in every post in this topic. :P

This is funny, my friends and I were talking recently about making a game very similar to Dinosaur Planet. The game we were talking about making would have all the story elements and characters, but we were going to make it in blender for PC.

Seeing Dinosaur Planet again is like me dropping acid while watching Sponge Bob. It something you just don't do and an experience that sticks with you forever. I thought Squidworth was coming out of the TV at one point.

Well, if their wasn't Krystal's staff, talking dinosaurs, Kazora Spirits, no blaster for Fox this time and Falco showing up at the last minute, I'd say yeah Rare do it again. Wait, did I just dis the whole game? Guess I did.

Anyone who drops acid obviously doesn't have the credit-ability to judge games for their worth. Also do you realize that Dinosaur Planet was its own game before it became StarFox: Adventures? Because it doesn't sound like it.

Ah yes if you do a thing that means you are no longer allowed to talk about completely unrelated things, makes sense

His point was that those things didn't work in the game as it was.

I myself have been working on getting some version of (at the very least) Warlock Mountain playable in Unity, recreated as best as possible from what has been shown in videos (primarily the hour long one). Hardest part so far has been the Zelda-style targeting system, heh..

Sorry, I understand what he was getting at now. Sorry again for the misunderstanding.

Its called sarcasm. Perhaps you heard of it.  :troll:

Of course I know Dinosaur Planet was scheduled to be its own game. The whole foolishness of it all is that Nintendo actually believed that an arcade styled tube shooter could be a LoZ RPG. Thats the underlining problem, they took it out of its genre.

Its like taking Mario and having him as an actual plumber by trade going to peoples houses and unclogging their toilets rather than just being a plumber but stomping in goombas and koopas all day. Or what if Halo crossed-over with Cooking Mama or Star Wars where its all hugging and no war? Might as well call it Space Care Bears.

Call me a stick in the mud, I don't care. But don't take games out of their assigned genres, it doesn't work.

The more I see of this, the more I think that if I actually did play a finalized version, it wouldn't seem like "What Krystal's first game should have been" and more like a game that feels like it's trying to be StarFox Adventures but fails due to an inferior game engine and almost the same content without bringing anything to the field other than some back story that doesn't matter to me and is not important in Star Fox or anything to do with Krystal anyway.

This is not a recent news, I started this thread for data Dinosaur Planet N64 remaining in the game Starfox Adventures on Gamecube. For those who are not yet aware. This information comes from the E3 2002 demo.

Koolaidman posted on the TCRF's forum . You must register to be able to read it.

On the other hand, the following sub-page describes the remnants of Dinosaur Planet with explanations.

Much more recent is the discovery of Lucario1423/TwilightGintoki
