StarFox - Personal Stories

I saw this post and it made me want to post this thread asking a simple question. Do any of you have a specific story that relates with the StarFox series? (i.e. memories, fun times, etc)

That was a nice story, however I couldn't tell if it was supposed to be taken seriously due to the rage comic type people lol. Good nonetheless. I'll share some stories of my own later probably (If I have any :P)

Heh, that comic brought tears to my eyes. Why am I such an emotional little derp? ;u;

I have lots of memories of playing Star Fox, but none of them are really all that goofy or as touching as the story up there. I suck, I'm sorry.

I have great memories of playing SF 64 and Assault multiplayer with friends and family.

Good times, good times. The number of times of us laughing when Peppy yelled, "DAGNABBIT!!", are uncountable.

I can dig up and rehash my persoal favorite story yet again:

SF64:

The first time I took the hard route to Venom, I lost to the Star Wolf dogfight. :|

Second time: I tried again, with all my wingmen, and still lost the dogfight. :x

Third time: I repeated the Zoness level so many times that I got to the Star Wolf dogfight with 23 extra lives, and I still lost them all.

Fourth time: I took the hard route while not totally sleep deprived, and beat then it. :hehe:

Yeah, I'm not gonna forget that one for a while...

It's thanks to StarFox that I began drawing, about 8 years ago now, made a bunch of friends from all over the world and met my first love. :3

If that's not an accomplishment I'm not entirely sure what is! Glad to see you back around too, Psy. :D

It was thanks to the Star Fox series that I was introduced to video games considering Star Fox 64 was the first game that I ever played in my life. It was also what got me into drawing again since I had rarely ever did it till then.

The first Starfox game I ever knew was Adventures (legal issues in Europe scrapped the previous games' names). I was 11-12. Though I couldn't play it, the design blew me away at that time. It really inspired me, it was this game that got me into anthro characters. But over time, I lost my track on this franchise.

Then, when I was 18, I randomly found the SNES Starfox comics on the web. I fell jaw-dropped. It had everything the franchise's latest records lacked : Great overall design, good characters, a thrilling universe... Then I discovered the Starfox 2 cancelled game. I was amazed how ahead of its time this game was. The gameplay mechanics really embodied what Starfox team should be : a mercenary team going from enemy group to enemy group by its own will, with a little help of the regular army.

At that time too, I made a friend at the art prepa school. Turned out he also liked Starfox. Thanks to him, I finally played Starfox 64. And for my 20th birthday, that same friend offered me Starfox Adventures. I had a Wii, and he gave me the GC material to play SFAd.

So this sums up how I became a Starfox fan. I see great potential in this franchise, and I hope big N will finally make it good.

Now I'm working to become a concept artist / character designer. Starfox is part of my inspiration, since I now have a liking on anthropomorphic characters, and sci-fi as well (though StarWars and Titan AE inspired me a lot too for that one).

For me, my favorite Star Fox memory involves me and my two brothers, we never really had a close relationship during our childhood, (though we're getting closer now) so this is why this memory sticks out for me.

My brother Andrew and I loved Star Fox 64, we played it all the time, but for the longest time, we could NEVER make it past Area 6, I used to rely on Andrew to get me through the hard levels, but even he couldn't beat it.

But one day when he wasn't around, I played through Area 6 and actually beat it, you couldn't BELIEVE how excited I was. I went to Venom fought Star Wolf, and made it down to Andross, the fact that there was multiple tunnels down to him let me know that this time the fight was going to be different. Went through the Andross fight as normal, and then when I blew his face off I was expecting the robot skull. Instead........... a giant brain appears. For the 7 year old child that I was.....

MIND........... BLOWN.......

Of course I got killed the first time around. (damn brain tentacles) but I turned it off and waited for Andrew to get home, I dragged him into our room, and played through the fight again. He was rooted to the floor just as much as I was. When I beat Andross, he explodes, Fox screams, and the screen turns white. We were traumatized, we felt like we did all this for nothing. And then we heard this..........

"Don't ever give up my son." "Father?"

Our jaws HIT THE FLOOR. All we could do was look back and forth at each other and the screen. Then the escape scene begins. It was right then that my other older brother Chris walks in the room, he wasn't as in to video games as Andrew and I were, and was making snarky comments at us the whole time, but I could tell he was excited too.

So there I was, finally completely beating Star Fox 64 on my own, with my two brothers there to watch and cheer me on. And considering how my brothers and I didn't get along that well during my childhood, I can honestly say that is my most cherished childhood memory.

I always love hearing stories like these, especially since yours deals with some sort of bonding, Runner! It was a pleasure to read and I'm glad that you three are making an effort to come closer as time goes on. :P

Well....Haha  star fox has played a large role in my life that i still have yet to fully understand. I got really into the game after playing assault alot. In the begging it was just a game , but it evolved into something more. When? i'm not really sure but i can remember the characters all feeling like family to me. fox and Krystal more so then any of the others. being an early teen i drew alot of strength and morals from the two characters. At that point they were already large figures in my life; however, i could never comprehend the full largest impact they would have on my life. it must have been 4 years ago now....I got command from a friend just learning of it's existence only a few days before. I played it pretty intensely....but when i finished the first plot route, i was devastated. Fox was a brother to me at that point and he was in a really bad part of his life. But i finished all the endings hoping to find some hope. i found a few okay ones but :/ the rest were worst then the first. at the end of story 9 i even ended up crying. I went to bed with tears rolling down my cheeks. When i woke up the next morning i felt the strangest emotion. To describe it now is hard but, i felt as though some one had reset me. I remembered every thing but it felt like it was a different me who had done those things. like i had done them in a different life....weird right? The next months following i acted quite differently. i sat in class and just thought "who the hell am i ?" . i suppose with out fox as a model of sorts i felt lost. I struggled to find my sense of self. well the feelings faded eventually, and i feel quite fine now, but i am not the same. to this day i still remember my eyes opening that morning, i don't think i'l ever forget what happened. there is alot more to the story, but i my self don't know what most of it means or why it effected me. But star fox played a large role of who i am today, and probably, just maybe who i'll be tomorrow.

Apologies for seeming to resurrect a old thread

I agree with Ajc3000fox actually and I figure I will join you on the sappy side so you won't be alone. I only got back seriously into the StarFox franchise after playing through Assault a couple times lately (I haven't gotten to play Adventures yet and I understand I do not want to play Command due to the sad endings). The addition of Krystal to the team and the whole relationship deal with Fox kind of drew me in. I guess because it was sappy, sure (and no, not because of the furry deal. The fanfic that goes into that kind of weirds me out). But to me it exemplifies that simple young love relationship and the silly immature emotions with it - after a couple failed relationships and knowing that simple desire to just be with that other person and even suffer in their place to spare them it brought me back...

Allowing fanfiction to define Fox's character more, especially since the inclusion of Krystal, it has also given me a bit of a bearing on life too. Not just in love, but in the aggressive pursuit of honor, strength, and courage even when faced with insurmountable pain and fear. To never take 'no' as an answer, and always try to lead the more ethical, patient, and respectful life.

Dear Nintendo,

We need you to produce another good StarFox game...I don't mind if it includes Krystal or not really, because I figure if you can at least get a good fanbase again you can return to some post-Assault games. I just want a good game to rejuvinate the franchise and not just make Fox a cool character on Super Smash...

Please and Thank you,

My story's not hardly as good as some of these others, but I'll share it nontheless. About 3 or so years ago some shit-head who goes by the alias crazyfooinc told me to play the Star Fox games. I did. They were okay. The end.

My story feels kinda silly compared to all the others.

My brother and I would play Starfox Adventures for hours, well I would play, he would stick around for a while then go do something else. Good bonding time anyways.

I remember my neighbors had SF64 when I was young, and there were kids talking about Adventures when it came out. My first time playing a Starfox title was Assault at a Target demo. Several years later I got SFCommand, It quickly became my favorite DS game (there were not many flying games for DS, good ones if that, I took what ever I could get). Several years later I got Adventures, then I downloaded 64 on my wii. Now just recently I got 64-3D. I have also read the comics.

Most importantly, I often find myself thinking about the starfox universe, such silly things as the chance of there being a Lylat like star system, how G-diffusers possibly work, stuff like that. These thoughts though, have helped play a role in my interest in astronomy. Heck, Starfox has alot to do with my fascination with space and the universe.

Trust me, Synapsepilot, your story also gives insight into the overall topic's goal, therefore neither making it inferior or superior to the rest. With that out of the way, I have to say that starting off with Command and continuing the story from there must have given you an interesting viewpoint into the rest of the story. It's always fun to examine the universe in which the games take place in as well, especially all of those ample plot-holes.

A few, maybe three years ago I picked up StarFox Command for the Nintendo DS. I was immediately captivated by the dramatic story and branching plot paths. I played the game, I made the choices. It was fun. Krystal was damn hot in that skin-tight flight suit. Fox was a badass. Wolf was a badass. Leon's music gave me a boner. And I wasn't bothered in the slightest by the BEHBHEBHEHHEBHEHBHEHE voices. It was a good game. About a year later, I discovered SFO. I read the articles for hours (especially the ones regarding Krystal), eventually reading all the way out to the site's conception. I then turned to the forums for new content and...

What do you know, I became a member. Also, at this point, I was a part-time Krystal Fanboy. When you only know her Command personality, she's pretty cool.

This showed me a facet of the internet that I had not yet explored: A true community of like-minded people who enjoy the same thing, and like to talk about that thing in a friendly manner. I was baffled the forums, you guys were so friendly and willing to take me in. It was unlike anything I had ever seen. I had been raised to think everybody on the internet was a creeper or pervert, but I don't think anybody here falls under that. I've been active for a little over two years now. I've seen members come and go, confusing site changes, arguments, agreements, everything. However, another thing came out of my newfound love for StarFox and the online Community.

I found the furry fandom.

That was certainly different. People besides me like anthropormorphic animals? There are other characters like those of StarFox out there? It was perfect! The art, colors, and styles created a plethora of different people with different ideas, all united under a common banner. People of all ages, races, and educations creating one big furendly (I had to make a pun, sorry) community where everyone was equal, everyone could be heard, and liking vixens with bushy tails wasn't out of the norm. This changed something in me, the part that used to bash on gays and other ideas different than mine. I became a more accepting person. I became a furry.

Anyways, for those of you who just went TL;DR, I found the furry fandom through the StarFox fandom, and it's now a major part of my life, a defining trait, along with my love of Legos and Electronic music.

My first Starfox same was the 64 version. My cousin used to own a copy of it when I was little and I would just bug him and play it all the time. After a few years had passed, he was all into the xbox and he decided to give me and my brother his N64. That was one of the happiest days of my life. Well, besides actually playing the game at my own home. I played that game through just about every possible route multiple times and I'd still do it again.

Then I got the assult version for my birthday a few more years after and man I enjoyed it. Of course the big draw for me was the fact that the once new character Krystal was in it. I had not played the adventures game except in the little wal-mart demo thingys (yes that's what I call them  ) I did buy the game a year or two after that at a used game shop. I love that game too. Too be honest, though, I had a little bit of a crush on Krystal. That's not too wierd is it?

Then, I got command from that same shop. I like that game very much just because you could use the other fighters. Also, it had some pretty interesting possible endings. This really got my imagination going. You see, I would really like to become a successful writer one day. It may be just because I love all the characters, but these games really inspire me to this day to write a good story. I tried a little drawing too, but I just wasn't blessed with that ability. Then, I found this site after deciding I want to take a crack at fan fiction and I actually submitted something the other day.

Starfox has really had an impact on my life.

I remembered seeing a level in the first Star Fox where you are on this path where it looks like there's a road both above and below you, but to the sides you can see a mountain range at sunset. This was in the early 90's so when it was the early 2000s I thought maybe I had imagined it or dreamed it or something, until I played Titania and figured out how to make it to the boss of that level. I remember being so shocked that it was real that I paused it immediately and I just sat there staring in awe.

Let me just I have loved Starfox ever since I was a 7 year old boy. I remember Christmas '97 Santa Claus brought me a Nintendo 64 and Starfox game for Christmas. Me and my brothers played it and went over to a neighborhood friends house to play it as well. I read the players guide obsessivly, and imagined what it would be like if the Starfox Team were real and I got to meet them! I remember one day we had this really cool 16 year old Baby sitter. He was really nice and chill and beat Starwolf on hard for me and my brothers! Finally I got to see James Mccloud! I do hope the next Starfox game captures the Magic of the '64 version!
