Okay, so I was hoping to get the time to red line or something, but I didn't, so i'll just do this now as to not keep it on hold. The Muzzle's open at a really, well, odd angle. It might be closer to right if it was also actually looking to be part of the head. The top of the muzzle shouldn't be bending like that, and the nose looks very paper thin. As if there was nothing to it and I could just peel it off if there was the lightest cut there.

The mouth is also really off. A lot of it, really. The entrance to where you lead us to think the throat is, is practically on his cheek. The top of the mouth's center line and the angle you have it going at makes the muzzle look like it should end sooner that you draw it to; That on top of the fact it looks disjointed from the head is a bad combination.

I'm not going to be picky on the ears, but it's another sign as to where the head of this character should be, which highlights the muzzle issue, and just keeps domino effecting. The angle to the chest is much more at a point blank front view rather than a three quarters view like the head shows. Now usually, this wouldn't be an issue, as the head is a moving and rotating thing. But, there are no cloth folds or movement in the neck of folds of the hood, giving it an even flatter appearance. In a previous picture you drew, we could easily see that the body had form, structure, and the also applied to the character's jacket. There were folds and or lines showing that the clothing had form. This hood you have on him, shows nothing like that, and really just helps highlight more of the flatness to the image.

Shoulder placement could also be worked on if you really were going for a front image with a turned head.

Overall, just compared to the rest of your work, it doesn't stand up. It makes me feel that one of two things are the reality. Either A] You simply copied other's art without understanding the meaning behind it for your previous pictures, or B] You really just took a step back in your knowledge and understanding somehow. It doesn't fully matter about pure skill, even though you do need it to help show your understanding, but what you do need to know to do things you showed us before, is knowledge of what it is you're drawing.

If you have an understanding about how things will lay out, about how the anatomy of a body or of an object all relaxes and moves, it really shows. Even if you're not great at executing it.

Fluxy, I think you nailed it. I could tell there were a lot of problems in the picture, I just couldn't really explain what they were thoroughly. This is indeed what I was thinking, however. But like you said before, every artist has his bad days, so I'll just wait for another picture to see if he's taken a step back in his skill or not.

Also, I have to agree, I think practicing has a lot more to do with it versus pure talent. It takes everyone years to get as good as they are, talent or no, and talent just helps them understand the concept, and helps them realize how they should do things.

Looks a LOT better, though I'd probably angle the back of his jaw down more rather than have it be perfectly parallel to the line of his mouth - not too much, just enough so that it doesn't look like his jaw is a perfectly rectangular box, as it's actually more V-shaped (or U-shaped on a hyooman as a point of comparison).

Ooh, I like what you did there. I've been experimenting on manga too, so I can't really criticize it much. Plus, lots of people draw manga eyes differently... so. :)

I think it would help if you had some moderation with the shading; you know, darkest where the light doesn't reach and then things become progressively lighter? 'Specially on the pants; they just seem all one color-tone and a bit odd at that.

You are completely correct but the reason I couldn't do that is because all I have at the time is limited access to adobe illustrator which is not that great for shading and detail but yes that is one thing I hope to fix in the future. :friends:

^ That's why I tend to not color my works, haha. I concur with Crazy. There needs to be progression with the shading, especially with his pants. They look really flat.

UPDATE TIME!!!

A line Victor turdleman's FanFic Rise of starwolf inspired me to draw this scene;

"Wolf put the claw away in a drawer next to his bed. He stared at the sapphire. He could almost see Krystal's beautiful turquoise eyes staring back."

Shading done and I will sometime get a proper program to color it

read his fanfic I found it quite impressive.

This is a character that My associate had me draw for him since his character has no name I Dub thee... Mr. Crowley!

I assume most of you are wondering why this one is not as detailed as some of the others well it because instead of spending a month or more on it, I spent an hour.

I think the one based on the fanfic is quite interesting and well done. If you're looking for a good program to color with though, GIMP is free/open source and just about as good as Photoshop: http://www.gimp.org/

The picture with Krystal is some good work. The way the piece of mirror (?) reflects her image is a bit off, but not so much that I could really notice. The detail is pretty fine work too, it makes me want to read the fanfic except for the fact its built on a Wolf X Krystal thing...and that doesn't fly too well with me haha.
