Luminous-red
The photo ate many details, sorry about that , look more carefully the head details. Well, as i said in my introductory post, i came here to contribute to the Star Fox series with whatever i can, being either Fan Fiction or Fan Art, and that`s what i want to do, i wanted to create some Art for the series, althought this is more like Concept Art than Fan Art due to the fact that it is not something that has appeared on the series but rather some concept designs. As you can see, i made some Concept Art of what a Cornerian Soldier may look like in the series, since all we have ever seen are the dogs at the endd of 64, Bill Grey and, to some extent, some appereances of soldiers in Assault, so i took the liberty to draw one who i think would fit better in a defensive army, althought i gotta say that for me, Star Fox is a series who could be perfect with a more realistic design, im really happy with the 3DS design, but i have always been more inclined towards a more proportionate design, this doesn`t meaans i don`t like the styles the series use, i mean that i have always wanted to see the series with a more proportionate design (but since it`s creation took inspiration from puppets, it have more of a Toony Design) in the SNES days, Star Fox looked really Badass in the photos, fox puppet had a menacing look, and i wanted to recreate that feeling of a more mature theme. I made the Corneria Soldier a Greater Swiss dog, not for any particular reason, but i came across the look of the breed and thought it would be a good design for Concept Art, talking about the design, i designed him with an uniform similar to the ones the soldiers use at the end of 64, same with the helmet, wich took inspiration from Bill`s one, i also wanted to design him with some aspects of other games, wich is evident in the Assault`s cornerian logo on his vest, some little details like the dog tags and the gloves were added for aesthetical choices too, finally, a rifle based on a Nerf gun, (because, you know, he`s a soldier ), so i hope you all like it and feel free to comment, althought i know theres a LOT of mistakes in it and i apologize for it, and for my english too, it`s not my native language. Thanks a lot for taking the time to read this, i really apreciate it. Edit: made the paw bigger and added another strap to his chest so his gun can be holded on a cross on his back. myu
That's really good. You don't see much realistic Star Fox type art. The details are really nice, even though you say the camera ate them you can still see the folds, fur textures and markings, which really bring your picture to life. The only qualm I have, and I guess it more of a stylistic thing, is that his paws are a bit small. It's difficult to picture him holding that gun on his back. I look forward to seeing more from you.
Luminous-red
Yeah, im sorry about that, i based myself more on dog anatomy rather than human one and that made a huge difference because dogs have paws smaller in comparison to their bodies, and us humans have bigger hands, sorry, but thanks for the critique, i really apreciate it. :)
Psygonis
That's good stuff indeed. The way the gun sling is fastened around the shoulder doesn't match the orientation of the gun (I think), aside of that, there's not much to tell, except maybe "WE WANT MOOOOOOOAR!" ;)
Ala1n-J
Nice drawing. I don't have much to say, the realistic approach is a good touch and, after a quick check, the character looks like a Greater Swiss dog indeed. I'd say that his hand is a bit too small and the rifle's position doesn't fit with its sling, but other than that it's cool. BTW, I may have missed one thing : what Starfox series are you talking about? Fredyk's series or your own?
