As the title sugests, what was the first video game you EVER play

If memory servers me right, My fist ever actual video game excluding an old tank game when i was 4ish would be Mechwarrior 2 where you played as the Jade Falcons

While I don't remember my very first, I do recall one that still holds a cherished spot in my collection today; Driver 2.

Nostalgia coupled with excellent driving characteristics and CRUSHING difficulty make it one of my favorite games of all time, let alone one of the first I ever got the chance to play. I'm glad to see the series continue with Driver: San Francisco, but nothing will beat Driver 2! The missions varied, the game was incredibly long and spanned 2 discs, there were multiple cars and cities, police chases, and it also happened to have a heavily 70s inspired feel and soundtrack.

Mario Kart 64, if memory serves. :)

Well, excluding arcade games in stores like Wal-Mart, but you know.

It was either Legend of Zelda: a Link the Past, some old Sonic game I can't remember the name of, or that old duck hunt game where no matter what you did you would always miss and be mocked by that stupid dog.

As far back as I could remember, the only game system we had was an NES. If I could guess, it was probably the original Super Mario trilogy. Can't exactly remember which one.

Ms. Packman!

I remember at a dentist appointment I was about 3-4 years old playing the Ms. Packman machine. I was so obsessed with that game :3. I also remembered my 4th birthday cake that was Packman! I still have that picture of that cake stashed in my family's photo box somewhere. Few years later my dad took us (my brother and sister) to the mall to play arcade games. The only machine I walked up to was Ms. Packman and played it most of the time there.

Educational games put apart, I don't remember exactly what very first game I did play. So here are two I recall being the earliest videogames I've ever played when I was 7 or 8, both on PC :

- Pikto :

At first it was a French TV game where kids call some people on the phone and play a character in a colorful world. It became a 3D game, an adventure game where you had to find Pikto coins, fight weird enemies a-la-Doom with weirder weapons ( I recall in the asian world you could throw Chinese porcelaine jars on Japanese MMPR-like dudes, or in the clown world your most powerful weapons were streamers...) and it was fun. But not as fun as the next game :

- Jazz Jackrabbit 2 :

JJ2 is my favorite game as well. It was one of the few PC games that could relate to Mario, Sonic, Megaman and Earthworm Jim. You control Jazz, a green hare and/or his red brother Spaz, in a psychedelic universe where you shoot tortoises and jetpack raptor lizardsin order to defeat the evil Dr. Devan Shell (who stole his fiancee's wedding jewel) throught time and acid jazzy madness. The graphics, the gameplay, the universe, the AMAZING soundtracks (by Alexander Brandon also known as Siren)... It's just a golden game! BTW, it was made by the same guys (at least the same company and the same game designer) behind the Unreal Tournament and Gears of War series.

My first platform was the SNES. I think this is the one that I have the earliest memories.
