conaly
Hi, I couldn't believe it, when I first read the news about that. But it seems to be true, that an American company called "Super Fighter Team" are currently working on a NEW SNES game (!!!). "Nightmare Busters" will be released in 2013, but you can already pre-order it (68$ for US and 75$ for international customers). Man, I'd really like to buy it just because of solidarity and nostalgia to my SNES. It was my first game console and after 18 years it still works perfectly! But 75 bucks is a damn high prize. Maybe when I start working by the end of this year I think about it again. But if some of you are interested in the game: http://www.nightmarebusters.com/ Maybe this could bring a small renaissance for the SNES. *dream_mode_on* Maybe we can get a StarFox 2 cartridge in the future, too *dream_mode_off* :D
Robert Monroe
>75 bucks for a bootleg game on an outdated console that is over 20 years old Yeaaaah no. Don't care how good your game is.
conaly
Hi, as far as I understood it is not a bootleg, but fully licensed.
Scourge
Fully licensed game in 2013 for a SNES....
CrypticQuery
The idea is novel for sure, and I do enjoy the older beat-em'-ups/run & gun games of the same era. $70+ is a lot of money to spend on nostalgia, though. :P
Robert Monroe
Hi, as far as I understood it is not a bootleg, but fully licensed. Licensed implies its authorized by Nintendo, which I doubt. Even still. >75 bucks for a SNES game >in 2012 Absurd.

Icy
I don't mind the price. This is so awesome. I've always wondered if anyone would ever release a game for an old system. I just didn't think it would work. But this looks awesome and it should be interesting to see what can be done now, 20+ years later. Definitely keeping an eye on it. And I don't think this game was developed recently. AFAIK it was an old game that never saw a release, and they're just producing/publishing the game now. Still pretty cool. It's not exactly -hard- to make SNES style games, given the crazy things people program nowadays for fun. ALl you have to do is package in in a blank SNES reproduction cart and shell it out for more dosh than it's worth. It's a trap. You're paying 75 bucks for a game whose file size is probably smaller than your folder full of saved internet macros.
Deploy
Sounds cool. I love when people make homebrew games for old consoles. ^ Like Battle Kid for NES. I want to get it sometime.
