Hey guys, another random question from me (sorry for the topic spamming today, what the hell is wrong with me?).

I'm just curious to see what level we're all studying at this year. I know some of you aren't but plan on doing so soon. But sometimes education is overrated, and I understand that getting a job is far more important. What do you guys think?

I am studying Computer Engineering at a Polytechnic University. What I learned about Engineering degrees is that they are very versatile when looking for jobs, almost as versatile as Business degrees today.

I know that (blue-collar) jobs nowadays are becoming scarce to obtain and most of the new jobs would require degrees.

I'm not studying anything right now. I just graduated in April of last year, sooooo. Once all of my immigration is done with, I might go back to get some kind of degree in education. I'd love to teach English and/or art some day.

I've got my degree where I need it right now; I'd like to go back to school for some things eventually, but then again a lot of it can be picked up in my current job and I'm nowhere near the financial position to go back to school.

Hi,

still (again^^) at school, final exams in May, after that, well. Firstly I'll try to get a pilot training at Air Berlin or German Air Force, alternatively maybe I'll go study American history/literature/culture (I think called "American Studies").

I don't know where you would rank this, Red, but I'm in a private school (french scholar etymology doesn't always match with english's), learning how to become illustrator and comic artist. After this I'm supposed to look for a contract so I don't plan on studying in another school then.

I'm finishing my Computer and Systems engie degree in a couple of months. I was once a man who knew calc and relativity , now I know nothing :P, gotta love that side of engineering, you tend to forget about crap, fast.

Already graduated (equivalent to an M.Sc.) from my engineering school in electronics. Not studying strictly speaking right now (I follow open-courses on iTunes U and at the Collège de France in Paris).

I might enlist for a Ph.D. next year, if I don't become a military specialist officer first (I'll know soon).

Recently started university again. :D Social Communication. Branch: Audiovisual.

Some demographics about Social Communication (Journalism/Audiovisual/Public Relations): There are 70 people in my classroom. Of the 40 who study, only 20 seem to have the ability to make something out of this. There's many who are trying or gave up on their #1 career choices, and many who are looking for something short n' easy (loathe). The rest either have great potential, or need to develop a bit more of etiquette (some which I have faith, others which are goners)

I had finished my 2 year associates schooling degree for Computer Networking Specialist in IT. Holding that piece of paper that's not really helping that much :/. Now stuck with student loans paying it off and working two jobs. I have learned the hard way that almost all the computer jobs in my city are looking for well experienced people or with computer certifications preferred and the competition is tough to get in without those two important things.

Right now will take a computer certification test soon next week. It's the Comptia A+ in case some of you that want to know what particular test i'm taking. I planned to take it Friday next week. It has been a drag for me for a long time. Now coming to a point where I wanna move up and move on. If I do succeed by passing this challenging test. Will celebrate it in the 'Good News, Everyone Thread'. And will start to turn in my resume along with the copy of the A+ certification to those businesses. I'm interested in working in a computer repair shop or at my city hospital, position desired: computer technician.

Charcoal is evil, I tried to use it the other day for a figure, I said "screw this" and went back to my pencil.

I'm studying art at an American college (which I had to look up the difference between a college and a university in the US, neat to know) Which means my campus is tiny and we have departments, not separate "colleges" within the larger University. I love the crap out of my department, they (we) are all brain addled by paint fumes. I love it.

ETA: I said that because I looked up what it meant in Canada, say, and in Canada a college is like a career college here in the states, and I voted College before I could ask what Hayley meant, lol. My lovely Canadians are welcome to correct me if I'm wrong, though. :3

Studying Information Security and Forensics, also going for a dual major in Applied Networking and Systems Administration.

Laymen's Terms: Protect your information and make your internet work!

Currently working on acquring and internship or a summer co-op with the FBI and probably hope to work in their Special Agent field. Seeing as how all information security degrees end up working with the government as special agents.

If I choose not to, I wil probably work on getting a job at Amazon or even Google seeing as I have lots of connections with them.

I'm still in high school, (Unfortunately. DX) but I will be graduating next year. I'll probably go to a community college for a year or two first before going to a full blown university though. : P

I've never heard the term "career college" before, lol. But there is a difference between college, university, and trade schools here.

I am attending Kirkwood Community College in hopes on pursuing a career in graphic communication/design. As of now I'm taking the semester off due to person reasons (don't ask) and will be taking the last of my cor-courses this summer, in the fall I will be leaving my hometown to go to the main campus in Ceder Rapids where I will go into what I actually want to do.
