Gestalt
No, I'm asking you to speak like a normal person rather than just naming MLP characters with no rhyme or reason. You know, the sort of behavior that justifies DZ's annoyance at you guys. Sorry, i'll try not to be such a pony around my non-bronies Inorder to make this game we have to ask ourselves right off the bat. Would we prefer a game were the mlp characters are included into the starfox universe or rather should we mold an entirely new universe where mlp characters experience starfox like happenings. I for one would eagerly prefer the latter mentioned for various reasons. 1) it would be creatively fun to assign mlp characters starfox titles based off of mlp in show personalities. I believe the following characters assignments are appropriate for for this game. Here in, I will explain in great detail as to why I feel so. So lets start with none other than FoxMcCloud himself. Fox is the leader of the unofficial leader of his group. Although peppy continually serves a a viable father for team starfox...Fox McCloud tends to solve most of the problems thrown at his team. Now this goes hand in hand with one of my favorite mlp characters Twilight Sparkle. Twilight is humble and always tries to do right just as fox. When her friends find themselves in the tightest of spots Twilight is normally there to calmly forge a safe path to accomplishing the said goal. It is most clearly observable in season 1 of "my little pony: friendship is magic" that Twilight Sparkle is none other than the Fox McCloud of Starfox. As with Fox, Twilight was born with skills that far exceed those around her, however, she chooses not to squander her powers. If Twilight Sparkle were to be put in the cockpit of an Arwing, I am more than cofident that she would place the needs of lylat above herself. So if we were to create Twilight Sparkle as the protagonist of the SF realm what mlp characters would serve as viable antagonist you ask? I feel that no one else in the mlp world can harbor as much creativity and cunning skill as Andross than our beloved Pinkie Pie. Well thats just crazy you say. No...not at all is my retort. As Andross began his journey into popularity in corneria it is implied by in game references that Andross had more within him than what met the population of lylat's eyes. It was his lust for power. Andross felt betrayed by the galaxy that had put him away and he sought not only justice but revenge. Now...as shown in the mlp episode " Party of One"and "The Last Round Up" Pinkie Pie is an extremely 3-diminsional character. There's certanly a lot that doesnt meet our eyes....if someone were to betray Pinkie Pie's innocence then she would certainly be scarred for life. Perhaps in an MLP/SF crossover we could exploit on this aspect of Pinkie Pie and send her whirling into inescable tunnel of darkest that would in turn serve as a viable comic relief for the audience just out of its irony alone. But we must not forget that there are several antagonist within the SF realm. When we look at Wolf O' Donnell we see an arrogant bastard with a male inferiority complex. He always feels that he ALONE has to win no matter what. Oftentimes Wolf O' Donnell loses his fights (inorder for gameplay to progress), however, wolf always comes back for another fight with his ego completely unaltered. The Unforgetable blue mare featured in Season 1 Episode 6 "Boast Busters" know as Trixie exhibits the "Inferiority Complex" almost ten fold in comparison to Wolf. She is normally seen strutting across the stage letting all within her gaze know that she is "THE GREAT AND POWERFUL TRIXIE!" If placed into a wolfen as the the leader of StarWolf Trixie would certainly do more show boating around than actually accomplishing anything. Once again having Pinkie Pie and Trixie serve as the antagonist of the game would in turn serve as a healthy comic relief for the the audience

Xortberg
Oh, you. Tee hee. In all seriousness, I'm sick of MLP. Can't wait for it to fall off the map. I really don't think it is. Like Vydrach said, it's not a fad; it's a fandom.
Vy'drach
Right. This song: Followed by this image based on said song: Are not the works of some fly-by-night fad or people just jumping on the bandwagon to be popular on the intarwebz. There are some just for the bandwagon, and they will drop off later, if they haven't already, but the vast majority are genuinely interested in the show, the characters, and the fandom, and are willing to devote a lot of time, energy, and money to contribute to said fandom. As for Star Pony, I can agree with Wolf O'Donnell on that setting, provided Pinkie is in Pinkamena Diane Pie mode. Just wouldn't work right otherwise, for me. Though that being said, there doesn't have to be a story behind it for it to be awesome, either. Just SF style gameplay with ponies would be awesome. Patch93
To be honest, I find Friendship is Magic to be very overrated. Don't get me wrong, it's a good cartoon, has some good characters, has generated some lulzy memes and is a major improvement over the god awful earlier My Little Pony generations, but it's not one of the greatest cartoons out there, and quite honestly, it can get a bit tiresome after seeing pictures of Pinkie Pie and Rainbow Dash splashed everywhere, overshadowing the more obscure characters like Big Macintosh and Trixie. :/
Drasiana
whoa hey wait guys you don't like my little pony wow you know I have a really foolproof solution to that seriously, no one gives a shit if you don't like My Little Pony. This topic actually has a point and whining about how you're going to catch the cooties from a cartoon fandom is missing it. SO GUYS, BACK TO THAT POINT, I THINK A STARFOX-THEMED MLP FANGAME MIGHT BE PRETTY FUN
Vy'drach
Time to brainstorm other characters: Rainbow Dash would definitely be Falco. Apple Jack would be Peppy, imo. And this one might be odd, but Slippy would be Rarity. Seems unusual? Follow my train of thought on this. At first, it would seem that Fluttershy would be the best choice for this, given Slippy is a weak flyer, and so is Fluttershy, but Slippy is a mechanical genius, designing amazing works of machinery, and Rarity is an amazing fashion designer, designing fabulous works of art in dress format. Plus Slippy is able to scan bosses to show you their health and weakpoints, and Rarity has a discerning eye, and has a spell that reveals (in essence, scanning for) gemstones (perhaps gemstones should be boss weak points, since almost every boss has something glowing on their weak point). And this also relies on other character ideas I have, which is: I agree with Trixie being a good replacement for Wolf O'Donnell, but what of the other three members of Star Wolf? I say, make them the Cutie Mark Crusaders. Apple Bloom being Pigma, who has it out for Peppy (Apple Jack) Sweetie Belle being Andrew, who has it out for Slippy (Rarity) And Scootaloo being Leon, who has it out for Falco (Rainbow Dash) The pieces just fall together so well like that. As for Fluttershy, she should be Rob 64. Not actually engaging in combat, but giving supplies and moral support. Thoughts?
Ala1n-J
Well, I must say I'm getting more enthusiastic about this idea! Prepare for : "Twiligh'! Do an Apple Roll!"... yeah, sorry, I couldn't think of anything else. Actually, I can hear some of the dialogues : Trixie : "Bow before the GREAT and POWERFUL TRIXIE!!" Twilight Sparkle : "Just what I needed to see..." Scootaloo : "Hey, Rainbow Dash! Look what I can do!" Rainbow Dash : "I ain't your buddy, go away!" Apple Bloom : "Hey sis'! Long time no see!" Applejack : "What in the hay are ya doin' sugarcube?" Sweetie Belle : "You're not my sister!" Rarity : "Back off, you ruffian!" Fluttershy : "Um... I'm sending you some supply to repair your ship... if that's ok with you."

DZComposer
Sorry guys, but I need to rant. If this derails the thread, I apologize in advance. My dislike for MLP is more about not being able to get away from it at this point. Early-on, it was merely a non-interest for me, as I could see the show's target audience was little girls, and I am a man in my mid 20s, but it has grown like a plague of locusts, invading everywhere (and I thought the internet's affinity for Spongebob was bad, but at least that wasn't EVERYWHERE). I can't play TF2 without seeing them, even on servers other than ours. I can't browse Reddit without seeing them. I can't read blogs or forums without someone's avatar or sig containing them. I can't watch youtube without some pony-based YTP popping-up under "related videos." It's almost rising to the level of banner ads in ubiquity and annoyance. Especially ones with them moving around like this: Bright colors and rapid movement. Almost like those "punch the monkey" banner ads where the monkey was jumping around wearing a bright-colored shirt. Unfortunately, unlike banner ads, there is no tool to auto-filter ponies out of my browsing experience. I'm just flat out tired of seeing them. And now you people want to shoe-horn them into Star Fox... I draw the line here. Star Fox is my one pure sanctuary. I've been active in the Star Fox fandom for almost 15 years, and I'll be damned if another obsessionfandom invades it. Here's an idea: let Ponies be Ponies, and everything else be everything else. They don't need to be in Star fox or any other non-pony game. An image macro here-and-there is fine. It worked for Spongebob. But shoving ponies into places they do not belong is just getting annoying. Don't get me wrong, I don't hate anybody over this. I am just frustrated that everywhere I go I have to look at them, and now they threaten to invade Star Fox... </rant>
Xortberg
Sorry guys, but I need to rant. If this derails the thread, I apologize in advance. Apology accepted. Really, though the target audience was little girls, they still wanted older folks to enjoy it, like making sure parents didn't want to kill themselves whenever their kids wanted to watch the show. Since then, they've adapted it quite a bit to an older audience. But that's just me nitpicking, as I do get the point you're trying to make. Playing TF2 and seeing ponies is hardly a cause for annoyance. Even in a server full of bronies throwing their pony sprays up everywhere, the pony/nonpony ratio of pretty much everything TF2 is pretty high in the favor of nonpony. Reddit I don't know shit about, but bitching about blogs and forums having pony avatars and sigs, or pony videos showing up (videos you're free to not click on, mind you) is quite petty. However, Especially ones with them moving around like this: Bright colors and rapid movement. Almost like those "punch the monkey" banner ads where the monkey was jumping around wearing a bright-colored shirt. Unfortunately, unlike banner ads, there is no tool to auto-filter ponies out of my browsing experience. This is a pretty valid complaint, and I'll change my signature now. I've been meaning to find something to replace it anyway I'm just flat out tired of seeing them. And I'm flat out tired of people bitching about ponies. The vast majority of the complaints you've listed so far are quite petty, and basically amount to "They're everywhere, and since I don't like them it's too annoying." And now you people want to shoe-horn them into Star Fox... I draw the line here. Star Fox is my one pure sanctuary. I've been active in the Star Fox fandom for almost 15 years, and I'll be damned if another obsessionfandom invades it. Your one "pure" sanctuary? If I wasn't afraid of getting banned, I'd go on a FF.net crawl and link all the bad self-insert, stereotypical Fox/Wolf kawaii desu hardcore furry porn crossover slashfics. Star Fox is not yours, and it is not some pure sanctuary. It's a fandom just like any other, and you just choose to ignore the "impure" parts of it. But here's something crazy. Hold on to something, because I'm about to blow your mind. You ready? Some Star Fox fans are bronies. BuWHAAAAAAAA? Yeah, you may have been in the fandom a long time, but that really gives you no authority to say "Stop trying to blend what I like and what I don't like." If a brony Star Fox fan wants to make a crossover game, it doesn't hurt you. You don't have to play it. You don't have to step into the topics where people talk about it. It might even help the damn fandom, by introducing people to it as Doctor Whooves did with me and Doctor Who. Here's an idea: let Ponies be Ponies, and everything else be everything else. They don't need to be in Star fox or any other non-pony game. Here's an idea: let bronies do brony things, and non-bronies can stay out of the brony topics and websites. You didn't have to come into this topic, you didn't have to give it any thought, and you have plenty of other topics that you could check out. You don't need to be in Bronies Unite or any other pony topic. An image macro here-and-there is fine. It worked for Spongebob. But shoving ponies into places they do not belong is just getting annoying. And again, it also annoys me that so many people aren't content to just ignore things that they don't have to read or watch or play. Sure, you can't ignore the avatars and signatures, but if that's really enough to piss you off then you're a very petty individual and need to calm the fuck down. Don't get me wrong, I don't hate anybody over this. I am just frustrated that everywhere I go I have to look at them, and now they threaten to invade Star Fox... </rant> An invasion implies that if a Star Pony game were to exist, you would be forced to change this website into MLP Online. This is a discussion about making a single game, which would most likely get a single topic of discussion and nothing more, and would occasionally be referenced in other topics when relevant. Stop overreacting, please.
Vy'drach
Common misconception is that the target audience was/is little girls. Lauren Faust set off from the beginning for the show to be enjoyable by both genders and all age groups, with references to things children just would not get, such as Blazing Saddles or the Star Wars ending being recreated, things like that. Also, people are using something popular for avatars, sprays, signatures, what have you. This is unheard of in the history of the internet! You have your rage face things that you love, and that's highly popular on the internet to the point that I can't go a day without seeing a trollface, forever alone, or me gusta, not that I mind them, mind you. Only thing is, ponies are more popular and are an actual fandom, where as rage faces are image macros, and won't be anything past that. And Xort came in and ninja posted what I was about to say, mostly that you aren't forced to play it, but I'll add this. Crossovers happen. No one is going to strap you down and force you to play it, nor is anyone going to hold Nintendo CEO's hostage and have them make the next Star Fox game have ponies. It's custom game code that will be downloaded and played only by people who care about it. That being said, I will move the Pinkie hopping into the spoiler text. DZComposer
I'm not going to respond to everything, as debate was not my intention, but just a couple of things. However, Superficially, that is true. My level of annoyance comes from it is everywhere else, too. I wish I could "look somewhere else" but that is kind of hard when there are pones there, too. So what if it is petty? If I don't want to see them, and they are everywhere, then it annoys me. I would LOVE to block them out of my browser so I don't have to look at them. Sadly, there is no way to do that. I don't hate them to the point of leaving the internet, so I drop a rant to get it off my chest. Your one "pure" sanctuary? If I wasn't afraid of getting banned, I'd go on a FF.net crawl and link all the bad self-insert, stereotypical Fox/Wolf kawaii desu hardcore furry porn crossover slashfics. I know there are slash fics out there. I meant "pure" as in "not full of ponies." Yes, in fact, I'm butthurt. So it's illogical. I don't care. It is the way I feel about things. It doesn't have to be rational. I saw one of the very few things that I like without ponies creeping into it potentially getting "pony-fied." That got me annoyed to the point I felt I had to say something, so I did. As one who likes ponies, I don't expect you to understand how I feel about it. Xortberg
Superficially, that is true. My level of annoyance comes from it is everywhere else, too. I don't hate them to the point of leaving the internet, so I drop a rant to get it off my chest. Any place that has ponies, you can look away from. Avatars and signatures are an obvious exception, but really - you say you can't look somewhere else, and yet here you are coming into a thread that you know has ponies in it, and that you could easily just pass by, just to rant about how much you hate ponies. Sort of hypocritical, and hanging a lampshade on your faults like you've done doesn't excuse the fact that they are indeed faults that you choose to indulge. It annoys the fuck out of me to see pony haters everywhere I go, but you don't see me bitching about it unless one of those haters comes into some pony-related thing and starts bitching, like you are. I never said that you can't be a Star Fox fan and a brony. I know Star Fox isn't "mine." I know there are slash fics out there. I meant "pure" as in "not full of ponies." And again, ignoring the fact that considering this forum is quite easily the biggest English Star Fox site on the net and it is full of ponies, so that's kind of a silly claim, making a Star Pony game =/= full of fucking ponies. It means ponies have touched an aspect of an existing fandom, as they have done with basically every fandom at this point. You wouldn't have to play it, or talk about it, or join the discussions about it. It would exist, and you would be no worse off for it in the slightest. Yes, in fact, I'm butthurt. So it's illogical. I don't care. It is the way I feel about things. It doesn't have to be rational. I saw one of the very few things online that I like without ponies potentially getting "pony-fied." That got me annoyed to the point I felt I had to say something, so I did. As one who likes ponies, I don't expect you to understand how I feel about it. Again, hanging a lampshade doesn't absolve you of your butthurt illogical behavior. It makes you better than Sabre, but that's about it. Plus, again that's quite a silly claim - SF has been ponified out the ass, I'm sure. I know one of our members did a quick Krystal pony drawing in the shoutbox, and I'm sure with the tiniest bit of searching I could provide you with Pony McCloud, Pony Hare, Falco Lompony, Slippy Pony, or any other character ponified like a boss. And you're right, I don't understand what could drive a normally rational and fair-minded, non-hypocritical man to make a rant post in a topic he didn't have to click on about how he can't avoid the topic. It just seems quite silly to me.
DZComposer
Don't compare me to Sabre. My opinon may be illogical, but I don't run around all the time being a douche about it, self-proclaiming logical superiority, and calling people morons. I've made maybe two about ponies since the craze started and before this one. If I wanted to be a douche about it, I could ban all ponies from SFO. I won't ever do that because I don't believe in that kind of censorship.
Xortberg
I love how, much like Sabre, you completely ignored any possible valid points I made - like pointing out how your misguided crusade to keep ponies out of SF are entirely too late, even if you ever had any hope of doing so in the first place - and just jump on the one thing I said in passing as if it was my entire argument.
