Soldat

Before TF2, we had Soldat.

I remember when I first joined SFO, a lot of members got hooked up in a simple game called Soldat, a 2d shooter inspired by movies like Rambo . Every friday and saturday night, we used to spend a ton of hours on this game. We even ended up a making a dedicated map pack and a mod for us. Old members like Dash Fox, XG Fox, Slippygoingno, Ludvig and Tailrulz used to play.

This game was a blast, extremely fast passed, extremely bloody and extremely fun game. There are basically no hardware requirements for it nor do you need a dedicated server to host multiplayer matches. Assuming you have an internet connection, you can play.

It features your standard tdm, free for all, capture the flag, etc game modes and it includes a bunch of weapons.

Assuming I get people interested, I'll try to dig up more information and decent videos.

I've played this game before. It's pretty fun. Maybe I'll download it again if we are going to play.

Interesting that you guys used to play this and made your own mod, too.

Are you trying to get it going again, Steve?

Slippygoingno had a 800mhz processor, 256mb ram and 16mb gfx card back when we used to play soldat, and he didn't have problems :P

:D I was actually not bad at this. I had more fun spectating those matches than I did actually playing, though. c: Aaaand I dated myself, lol. God, Steve, 7 years ago you played this.
