Icy
Whatever you do, save Adventures for the best time. It is an amazing game.. in my opinion. (Hardly any other SF fan agrees, but you know. Don't go in expecting something boring and stupid, or something extremely amazing, and you'll love it… like me.) Agreed with Vydrach on the Command part. I wouldn't throw it into oncoming traffic since it does complete my Star Fox game collection, but you'd be better off not playing it. I never completed it, it's such a terrible game all around. But once again, you should see for yourself. Go in with typical expectations and who knows? You might like it. Assault was very fun and you should save it for a good time as well. Pretty short game overall, but a good experience. The on-foot missions were pretty boring… all things considered, though. And there are only 3 on-rails missions out of the 10 missions in the game. Sad… SF643D? Anytime you want, I'd say. If you like the original SF64, then you'll like this as well, of course. So I would say… if you're looking for the best experience in terms of playing through them… 1) Star Fox 64 3D 2) Star Fox Command 3) Star Fox Assault 4) Star Fox Adventures Or you could do them in chronological order, of course. Because, believe it or not, they do have a story… somewhat. Probably the best way, but I dunno. (That would be SF643D > Adventures > Assault > Command)
conaly
Hi, play them by release order, this is the best way to completely get the story. After SF64 you should start with Adventures, as Assault depends on its story. Same goes with Command in relation to Assault. StarFox 64 3D is just a remake of SF64, so in this case it doesn't really matter, when you play it, but if you just finished the N64 version, play it a bit later, as you would actually play the same game again. And as an additional advise: read the Manga "Farewell beloved Falco": http://arwinglanding...p?album=3&pos=0 It fills the story gap between SF64 and Adventures. In conclusion: (0.1) Manga (1) Adventures (2) Assault (3) Command (4) SF64 3D Have fun P.S. And I agree that Command wasn't a good game, I didn't finish every possible route either. Geo Stelar
64 3D Command Adventure Assault lol @ Vydrach and Icy: don't you think disregarding Command is a bit cruel? lmao I too don't like the story, but the gameplay is quite nice... (in fact that's the only thing nice about it, I dunno 'bout multiplayer) Anyways, just play it for fun. The game is cool if it weren't for the, well, not good story. Vy'drach
Geo, with no exaggerations or lies, I was physically ill after I beat Command. The only reason I keep it is to have the complete Star Fox series.
DarthDelgado
You should play them in the order they were released. Why? Becase that's how they're meant to be played! Adventres comes after 64, Assault comes after Adventures, and Command comes after Assault. You also should probably play command, instead of thowing it into traffic. I mean, its not a bad game, people just didn't like it. So anyway, yeah. Play them in order.
CrypticQuery
3D, Adventures, Assault, and throw Command out the window, preferably into oncoming traffic. I'm going to agree with Vydrach on this one, 100% in fact. 3D is pretty much identical to SF64, Adventures and Assault, while always debated, were both good games in my opinion. I will still hold my hatred for Command, however; the storyline was bogus, the controls were touch-screen only, and multiple bits of logic to gameplay elements were ridiculous. I've spoken on the matter before, and if I can dig up old walls of text I'll post a link.

Peter
Well, after playing 64 (which is a great game I might add), you could play 3D, (I haven't played this one) and then Adventures. SFAdventures is going to suck in a lot of the parts of the game, A LOT of the time. But, never fear, there's plenty of online walkthroughs. Honestly, I kind of liked Adventures, except that Falco wasn't there, and Krystal was given such a vague introduction into the series with this game. If I were to rate it, i'd give it a 7.8 Assault is your classic rail space shooter, again. But, there's on foot levels. If you want to get silver medals on every mission (you'll know what I'm talking about sooner or later), then you're going to want to focus on killing enemies rather than attacking the main objective, because medals are awarded after a certain amount of hits. Command. Oh, Command, Command, Command. Just burn it, if you're going to pay attention to the story. It's bad. I mean, BAD. But, don't fret, because the gameplay is spectacular! Maybe they golfed a +10 with the storyline, but they didn't really go wrong with the gameplay. Anyway, that's the order in which I think you should play them, and my thoughts on them. In case you can't pick out my cluttered thoughts: 3D: Another twist on 64. Adventures: Kind of like Zelda. Very frustrating. You'll need the internet on this one. Assault: On foot levels, kind of repetitive, but very entertaining nonetheless. Command: Atrocious storyline, terrific gameplay.
Geo Stelar
(off-topic: @ Vydrach lol you must hate Command that much to be ill ) (@Crazyfoo: another Command hater? lol you forgot to mention the stupid voices) Personally, I agree = like Peter said, on-foot in Assault is repetitive but still fun Adventures is good, too. Introduction of Krystal Command: The first SF game I finished, but as I unlocked the stories I became like many users in SF-O; I really don't like its story (I don't like nor hate Command, actually); The ONLY thing great about it is its controls. However, there are some users who also don't like the controls much. Honestly, if I liked command as much as I liked Assault, I'd say it's underrated, but that's just my opinion

Geo Stelar
I will definitely be playing Command. I'm not the type of gamer who doesn't play a game because no one else likes it. I certainly won't be going in with tremendous expectations; I might not be playing that one to total completion like the others. I'll DEFINITELY have an image of some raging gamer throwing it into oncoming traffic in my head while I play.....so that will make me feel better. lol I gotta tell ya something about Command, though; one-on-one dogfight boss fights can be irritating with the timer on especially the first time; Unless, of course, you're badass with the touch screen :-)
Thundercracker
Definitely play them in order, if you haven't got it from the other posts this is how it goes. SF64 -> SF643D (Optional) -> SF Adventures -> SF Assault Don't even bother with Command, really.
Icy
@Geo Prime: Seriously? There's actually someone out there who thinks the gameplay was nice? I played Command as a game, not as a Star Fox game, since I already knew the story sucked. I literally could not bring myself to finish more than a few levels, the gameplay, the whole concept was just stupid and broken. I asked people if it ever got better, or differed from the TB strategy > then go all-range mode and kill all the enemies > then go back to TBS screen > kill all enemies > and worst of all, USE TOUCH SCREEN TO MOVE AND BOOST AND BRAKE, etc. Ridiculous game. I regretted the measly $7 I spent on it, but I suppose it's nice to have it to complete my collection. Not saying you shouldn't like it. If you do, that's fine! I suppose this is sort of like me absolutely adoring Star Fox Adventures when anyone *supposedly* in their right mind should hate it. But I guess we've all kind of gone a bit off topic, have we not? ThePointingMan
Good choice doing it in order of release date! Anyways as far as command goes, I enjoyed it a lot. I think it's problem is that it is rather repettative, so beating it straight might not be such a good idea, but it's a portable game, so it's nice for every time your going out, to pop in some command and just play it for a little bit. It is currently the only starfox game I haven't 100% beaten every path/ unlocked every secret on yet, which kinda points to it not being that great. Also speaking beating every getting every secret, is that your plan for each of them, or just beating every path? If getting every secret, have fun trying to get those S flags in assault, that took me foooreeeever!
jeth
I know Commands story sucked, but it was still a good game, why are you all bashing it? And Falco'sFinest if I were you I would play the games in this order SF 64 3D SF Adventures SF Assault SF Command (Don't throw it into oncoming traffic)
Vy'drach
Because story is usually an integral part of the game, so going out and making a horrendous story makes people think the game is horrendous.

Icy
I know Commands story sucked, but it was still a good game, why are you all bashing it? I explained why it is a terrible game above. The gameplay was just crazy. They really expect you to play a game with such broken controls? Not to mention the concept of the entire game. ……As I said. TBS screen > eliminate all enemies in a boring all-range mode stage > more TBS screen stuff > more boring all-range mode fights Story was not a factor on why I hated the game. But once again, anyone is free to like it. I personally don't.
