Favorite music from Adventures?

Mammoth Ride is my favorite piece in the game.

And then there's Galleon Fight, Ice Race, SnowHorn Wastes, Darkice Mines, and the Andross battle.

I'd have to say the night time theme for Thorn tail hollow, it was really peaceful

Afriad to necropost, but here goes. My favorite music was definitely from when Krystal was shooting up at the Krazoa head and Fox jumps into his Arwing to give chase. I really wish they would've released that piece of music to the public.

Ah, yes. That one was incredible. I get chills listening to it in my head. It's a shame that the cutscene peices weren't released as a part of the actual soundtrack. None of them were in Slippy's jukebox either. /:

I really like the Test of Knowledge theme. It's kind of creepy, but in a good sort of way.

Dark Ice Mines and Lightfoot Village had some very beautiful music as well.

I just remembered another piece of music from Adventures that I really loved. It's the second piece of music played during the credits, after the main theme, but before Krystal's theme. I always find myself rocking out to that whenever I hear it.

ThornTail Hollow, the night version. Everytime it got dark I just sad back and listened to the music until it got day again. I also really like Cape Claw, Early ThornTail Hollow, ThornTail Hollow, SnowHorn Wastes an I guess I need to stop until I write the whole soundtrack down!

For me it's gotta be the "Great Fox Rock Song" version of the Star Fox theme tune, I mean just listen to it!!

Yeah, that one is great! I think that SFAd has the best soundtrack in VG-history! :D

After spending a sizable amount of time on this, I give you my top ten, done in what I hope to be a nice, neat manner. I tried to number these in terms of how much I favor one over the other, but in general, I like them all.

 

1. The Gas Chamber

 

Discovered in Capeclaw, when you set off to go rescue the Queen Cloudrunner from her cage, is a wonderful piece that plays when you are trapped inside a chamber that starts filling up with toxic gas. It was one of my favorite tracks in the game. However, I was always a little put off by the fact that it only plays once for a short time period, and you never hear it again. On the bright side, it can always be found in "The Juke Box," or on this site.

 

2. Darkice Mines Surface Caves

 

Maybe it's because of the particular instrument they use a little bit after the beat gets started, but I've always enjoyed this song. Something about it is pleasing to the ears. A great background track; perfectly fits the environment.

 

3. Great Fox Rock

 

Brash electric guitar chords show us what the asteroid field sounds like in an awesome rock and roll style; an epic track that plays near the beginning of the game and in the credits at the end. Very different from what you hear through most the game, but very, very fun.

 

4. Krystal Is Released

 

A deeply moving song that plays when Krystal is released from her imprisonment inside a crystal, (no pun intended,) and also, I believe, when she gets trapped inside it as well, though I may be mistaking. The track consists mostly of female-like vocals, and is rather short. Nonetheless, it is a very pretty gem.

 

5. Riding a Snowhorn

 

Whenever you ride the giant Mammoth-like creatures from Darkice Mines, this track takes place. I like it because it describes very well how big and strong the Snowhorn tribe is, and how they rock to and fro with every gigantic step they take.

 

6. Thorntail Hollow Day

 

After a somewhat Indian like whistle goes off, a strong, pounding beat takes place, pulling you into the Thorntail Hollow daytime song. The melody is filled in nicely with a flute instrument of some kind, or wind instrument, you could say. The best way to describe this song would be that it gives off the vibe that there is a lively tribe that is well and at work.

 

7. Arwing Flight and Dragon Rock Defenses

 

A spin on the classic asteroid field track that played in Starfox 64. It stays very true to the original, with a few changes here and there, such as vocals coming in on occasion. A nice brief reminder that we are still in the Starfox universe, and not Banjo Kazooie or The Legend of Zelda.

 

8. Thorntail Hollow Well

 

An echoing beat starts when you enter the Thorntail Hollow well. It gives a good impression of an eerie, dank cave. Though it is not my favorite, I still very much enjoy it. It takes a bit for the track to actually get into its melody, which is done by yet another flute, or wind instrument.

 

9. Darkice Mines Waterfall

 

A pleasant track you hear briefly when you crawl into the hole that takes you to an icy part of the Darkice Mines. I am partial to it because it gives a good chilly feeling; again, fitting the environment nicely.

 

10. General Scales' Galleon Fight

 

A very upbeat rhythm and what sounds somewhat like a rioting tribal crowd introduces us to the first fight in the game: General Scales' galleon fight. The song gradually starts adding more and more music into the mix; first starting off at a beat, and then stringed instruments come into play. A very nice track that captures the feeling of battle at hand.

 

And there you have it! That is, more or less, my top ten of the Starfox Adventures' soundtrack.

Unused song 1 - It's an unused peice of music that plays when Krystal is freed at the end of game. So gorgeous. Wish they had relased it.

Unused song 2 - Another unused song that plays just before the fight against Andross, when Krystal starts firing at him with her staff. The brass is simply amazing. Favorite peice in the entire game.
