Identify The Part, Catch a Killer

Quote from Jalopnik;

Betty Wheeler was killed last Saturday when a driver in an unknown vehicle struck her as she walked near Route 340 in Waynesboro, Virginia. Police say the driver fled the scene but left this part behind.

Can you identify this piece of what looks like a front air dam/spoiler? If so, you might help catch a killer.

At the moment, most are speculating that it came off of an early 2000s Ford F150/Ranger grille, but if you have any other suggestions, don't hesitate to reply! Jalopnik is indeed in contact with local authorities, and it seems as if things are progressing with user input. Thought I'd drop this here for some more visibility. After all, there's not much that's more satisfying that catching a fatal hit & run driver. [it's a shame Asper isn't still around here, I guarantee he would have at least something to say.]

OK, so they've figured it's a Ford. Now they just need to find the suspect.

Oooh! It's bettin' time!

Why would someone flee the scene of a fatal car v. pedestrian?

No Insurance pays 2:1

DWI/DUI pays 2:1

No valid driver license pays 2:1

Misdemeanor Warrant pays 3:1

Bench Warrant pays 3:1

Undocumented Immigrant pays 4:1

Felony Warrant pays 10:1

Wow, how'd I forget DWI? Fix'd.

My brother was in a DWI-related accident once. The drunk hit the car in front of him head on, and he plowed into it. The drunk tried to flee, but he blew his engine up because the impact destroyed the radiator and transmission. The engine still ran after the impact, somehow. Until he blew it up flooring it.
