I was just thinkng to myself that Slippy Toad could possibly have aspergers syndrome. He is a mechanical and computer whiz, yet has clumsy motor skills when operating an arwing. He also seems socially awkward. What do you think? Though since he is a fictional character, he probably doesnt have anything...

Sure Slippy is a genius in engineering and is a clumsy pilot, but IMO he's not socially awkward, at least not at the point of being an aspie. He just plays the comic relief guy who has to look a bit weird to the hero's eye. But usually Slippy hangs out well with his friends, except for Falco but only because the raptor bird can't stand the frog's lack of flying skills.

Slippy is also a common videogame/movie/cartoon/comics archetype : he is the genius guy who can't excel in the hero's skills but can back him/her up with his intelligence and technical skills. While this archetype could be inspired by aspies, it was not defined as such.

Now, should Slippy be considered an asperger? It is unlikely Nintendo will say such thing, and even if asperger is known in Japan, this is a childish game where characters are thought in a rather simple way. Adding an asperger in the game would require the developpers to make the starfox universe more complex and mature.

Here's a notion; maybe he just has absolutely hideous characterization, just like the rest of the characters in the franchise.

Yeah I'm pretty sure Slippy counted 246 toothpicks that fell to the floor at some point. :/

He certainly some has traits of an aspie, but I don't think I'd exactly call him one. Another major aspie thing is routines: everything being the same, which, Slippy hasn't obsessed over yet. I don't think there is enough plot development with Slippy to really tell if he could be considered aspie or not. And if he is, nobody has to bluntly say it in a game, because in many TV shows for example, there are many characters we know are aspie, it's just directly said that they are.

I actually thought Falco was more of the aspie since he doesn't exactly have deep friendships with his teammates, and constantly separates from them, though coming back because he knows he is loyal to them. In Command, it says he is rather a loner, whereas Slippy has a fiance, which shows Slippy does have social skills, perhaps just not the most typical.
