CrypticQuery
Rather than clutter The Arcade with a new thread, I shall reuse this one for the time being as major updates have hit the game since we last saw it in action. Sly Cooper Thieves in Time is set for a February 5th, 2013 release date in North America, and a demo hits the Playstation Store on January 29th. The game has gotten itself a price cut to $40 brand new; a price that you'd be insane not to pick the game up for. Much has developed since the last time this thread was updated, such as a 2-hour long livestream courtesy of IGN and the head devs at Sanzaru Games and additional trailers. Trailer - www.youtube.com/watch?v=9elWR4NmvCI&hd=1 Trailer - www.youtube.com/watch?v=mdZQ05NxrlM&hd=1 2 Hour Livestream - www.youtube.com/watch?v=2rFlrJoMUVk&hd=1 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- There has even been an animated mini-series that is nothing short of impressive; www.youtube.com/watch?v=RI6vkyyK4Lc&hd=1 In short, it's going to be a great game, ESPECIALLY for $40 brand new. manthony_Higgs
I've actually just recently gotten the Sly collection (I'm 2 chapters into Sly 3) so I've been keeping an eye on this game. I like how the cartoon cutscenes are actually animated this time around instead of being Newgrounds-level flash animations. I kinda hope Sly's VA has learned how to act in the last seven years though, he isn't too believable in the older games.

I agree with you on the cutscene angle of things; they look much better with an actual animation studio behind them as opposed to what looks like it was thrown together in powerpoint. Not to say that Sucker Punch's original comic-styled drawings are anything but awesome, but Sanzaru's choice to go with Ghostbot as an animator was much needed IMO. I'll have to politely disagree with you on Kevin Miller's voice-acting ability, though that is probably just nostalgia clogging through - I've been waiting for a new Sly game since 2005 and bought each game when they released. Owner/Technical Admin Sideways Posted February 11, 2013 Owner/Technical Admin Share Posted February 11, 2013 i have the first three Sly games on my PS3 thanks to PS+. When I have some extra money to spend (tax return!) I'll most likely pick up the new sly game.

You would surely not be making a mistake; I'm almost all the way through Sly Cooper Thieves in Time and I can safely say, personal fanboy biases aside, that it is one of the greatest games I've played in quite some time. I don't think I've smiled as much while playing Thieves in Time as I have with a video game in awhile.
