sroberson
Alright, so I don't know if this is old news to most people here, but I haven't seen any utterance of it yet so I figured I would share/discuss. Shadows of Lylat (Unofficially Star Fox) http://www.shadowsoflylat.net/ Videos: I can't seem to find much information about it overall, but it appears to have some pretty serious work in it (and frankly, if the game is about ends up as good as the trailers make it look, I would take the game and shove it down Nintendo's throat). I am guessing DZComposer might hop on this thread at some point since it gives him credit for some work. Anyone know more about this? (begins to vainly toss money and credit cards at the screen in hopes that maybe news/updates on the status of the game appears)
jeth
I haven't seen those first two videos yet. But the trailer is old news, I mean I saw it after I became a StarFox fan 2-3 yeas ago. So yeah. But I REALLY hope that this hasn't been ditched, because it looks EPIC!!!
Gestalt
If that game is not already finished...then it has failed. And we can't cry over spilled milk.
Icy
There have been a few topics on this mod before, actually, but whatever. Yeah, I've watched every trailer, drooled over every screenshot, read every news post. That was years ago. I do hope it is still in development. Last I heard, it is, just… going slowly I suppose. Scourge
Memory serves, DZ is part of the dev team, so if anyone here would know about its recent quietness, it'd be him. So, someone drag him in here!
Redeemer
DZ also said that this project hasn't stopped. The team just had real life things to deal with, like having children, if I remember correctly.
Wizzrobe
They said we weren't going to hear from them for a while because their isn't enough new stuff to show yet and that they don't want to advertise the game since Starfox 64 3d was being released. that was almost a year ago though so I'm not completely sure... Salem
Yeah It's still a [WIP] and there's been a few delays so it will be a wile before anything gets going good.... on a side note I'm surprized DZ hasn't commented on this thread yet
sroberson
Hopefully any possible release of a StarFox game from Retro studios won't push this project off. I can't honestly tell which one I would be more excited about given all the promises Shadows of Lylat have made (online multiplayer? With that kind of flight-sim-ish control over the Arwing? Holy crap!)
Gestalt
DZ also said that this project hasn't stopped. The team just had real life things to deal with, like having children, if I remember correctly. In that case more power to them...
DZComposer
It isn't officially dead, but I haven't had any work on my plate from the project in a while. Work has slowed to a trickle, and with the major changes discussed, if it ever gets out of the lull it is in right now, it will be quite a different game than it was originally going to be. I'm losing confidence that the team will stay together, though. Most have real jobs now, and at least one important person has a kid now. But we'll see. The process has been in lulls and spurts for some time now. Scope Creep is what delayed it this long. We tried to do more than we originally planned. There is more to the story, but I don't feel that it is appropriate to say anything now.
Gestalt
Five minutes in an astriod belt like that would be mind-blowing...so in the end...even if you have to do some major scale back don't let any of this hard work go to waste
