I try not to get my hopes up. Just looking at what's there. Here's why:

Anyways, the casual stuff was entertaining.

*Goes through giant fan*

WHY WAS THAT EVEN THERE?!

Angry Birds = death of video games (in response to DZ's comment)

I don't know much about e3, but aren't there supposed to be more titles tomorrow?

Hi,

somehow... they seem to have forgotten their own franchises. That was really disappointing, I was expecting some more first party games.

This conference was more about showing that the wiiU can be for both casual and hardcore gamers, Nintendo showed a lot of casual games and Third parties showed more hardcore titles of current consoles ported to wiiU, I saw it more as a conference to show the possible uses for the controller, they focused more on showing what can be done with it.

That's something they should be showing the developers behind the scenes. Average gamers dont give two shits how their game plays provided: it feels right, and you dont have to be doing jumping jacks to imitate Mario. What we were hoping to see were our beloved franchises brought forth to the WiiU, and many of us are leaving disappointed.

If only Nintendo could figure out most of us want to be lazy and lounge around with a simple controller

It's not like we've been screaming that since the launch of the Wii

I can't help but wonder why they keep trying to shove it down our throats then...are their sales better out of the united states? I mean if we had the OPTION to use motion controls all would be forgiven, but i haven't yet seen nor played a game that was interesting and implemented their controls effectively. Come to think of it, its simply hard finding a game that even looks appealing.

Well im dissapointed i didn´t see a new Zelda today, just some NintendoLand thing, however, im not too dissapointed because there is always one for any console Nintendo releases, so actually, it´s more about waiting a bit more.

I just hope a StarFox game is made, they didn´t showed anything, but they also didn´t showed many other franchises, so there´s still more to see.

Well then if tommorow is specifically all about the 3DS, what could possibly go wrong? *insert Nintendo announcement of SF Command, 3DS* (Trollface)

But seriously, if Nintendo was really only planning to release a SF game on the 3DS, what do you guys feel about that? I for one, am JUUUUUSSST a biiiiit angry with having to soon buy a billion different console and handheld products AmiRight?

Sadly that wont happen with Nintendo, There´s a logic behind this:

Nintendo probably developed the controller for third parties rather than itslef, because, as an example, when the Wii came out, it looked unique and promissing, able to be used in new ways, and that´s what nintendo did with many titles, however, not all third parties found being able to adapt new ideas or existing ones on the control, it wasn´t as easy as it sounds, so the idea was there, but it was never trully taken advantage of by other companies.

Nintendo wont be using the simple-controller because the company must represent the console, and they need to use the tablet controler and it´s funcionalities to show it, The controler was more for third parties that didn´t want to use the tablet controller for anything.

I am 100% any title Nintendo develops will use the tablet screen for something for the same reasons i mentioned above.

Not a fan of the idea personally. The 3ds is uncomfortable for me to use and i simply don't feel immersed into a gaming environment when my targets are smaller than my pinky when they are in the "distance". Among other shortcomings of the 3ds is the lack of audio quality. It just isn't there. I'm not expecting a game to be released for 3ds if its made by retro (unless retro has done work on the 3ds before)

(ugh, stupid autocorrect on phone...)

While there is much to be disappointed about, if you expected to see Zelda today, you don't know Nintendo. We had Zelda last year. It takes a few years for a new one.

This is like the number one complaint, it's a top trending topic on Twitter right now. Are you people serious? There is plenty of fault to find with this presentation without having expectations for something that any Nintendo fan should know wasn't going to happen.

Nintendo said they learned from the 3DS launch, but they have not shown that. The games they've show are games we've known about and many of them were casual crap. Though there is an important note: Everything they've announced is launch-to-launch-window in time frame. We don't yet know what is coming in 2013. There could still be awesome stuff coming, but why Nintendo chose not to at least tease us with it is beyond me.

Now, I'm not put off of the WiiU by any means. It's a great little console, and it's features have me stoked. It's just they didn't show anything exciting software-wise.

Literally your nitpicky opinion

anyway, pikmin was the only title I really cared about, and NSMBU. Although I'd say neither are hardcore, still sounds like a casual fest.

Well maybe they didn´t tease us for the same reasons you said, developing a full game takes up to 4 years, so they still must be in their early prototypes, and it always has the chance of being delayed even more, maybe they don´t tease for new games because they doesn´t want to dissapoint fans if said titles end up being delayed for over a year like Skyward Sword, one can only guess.

On the Nintendo land trailer I tought I saw a shape that somewhat resembled a spaceship, an arwing perhaps?

Well, all we can do now is be patient and see what becomes of this Retro Studios rumor...

To be perfectly honest, I was kinda underwhelmed by the conference, but still thoroughly enjoyed it. Anyone who expected to see Metroid, Zelda, even Star Fox… eh. Not today, guys.

This week was all about the hardware, the third-party support, the "unveiling" of it all. There's a developer's conference later today, a 3DS thing tomorrow, and even a few new games on Nintendo's E3 site. (www.e3.nintendo.com)

I was happy with it. Pikmin 3 looks great. I'm also loving the gameplay trailer for ZombieU. They didn't show too many Wii U first party games, which is sad, but it's alright.

No game launches with like 5 games (as they only announced "launch" for about that many today) so there will be PLENTY of announcements leading up to the release of the system.

Don't worry. :D

I'm looking forward to all the 3DS stuff as well. Luigi's Mansion, Paper Mario, NSMB2. Can't wait for all those.

There'll be hands-on impressions, new game announcements, etc, etc, in the coming days/weeks.

I would be lying if I said I wasn't disappointed at not seeing Retro's secret project, but since they didn't show it… it can only mean it wasn't ready to show yet, and that's a good sign in my opinion. The more I have to wait to see it, the better it will be when they finally do reveal it, IMO.

All in all, not a bad conference by any means, but it just wasn't what anyone was expecting. We all expected more Nintendo games to be shown, and there were hardly any shown.

Still, extremely excited for the Wii U and I am EXTREMELY glad it will support 2 GamePads. Everyone was expecting only 1.

Hope we get some specs out of this developer thing they're doing… but I already know the games look amazing. It'd just be nice to finally know the specs to shut everyone up.

Also, everyone be sure to visit Nintendo's E3 site. It's got developer interviews, trailers, etc.
