DZComposer
Now that the list of what they have but didn't show is out, I feel a little better. 20+ titles in the launch window is pretty impressive, numbers wise. I just wish more of them appealed to me, though. Now let's just hope there is not a big drought during 2013 like there was with 3DS after its launch. I guess the question I have now is should I get Assassin's Creed III on PC or WiiU? Anyone else getting some sweet Super Mario World vibes from NSMBU? RennardFuchs
I was really hoping that there would be a StarFox game, but maybe... maybe... they are hiding it for the end of E3 (I hope so) xD @DZ Yeah, I felt like NSMBU has some Super Mario World atmosphere - especially the Rhino/dinosaur-things on that wheel :)
StarFoxfan-FUR_ever
For some stupid reason, I had my hopes up for a Star Fox game. :C So did I Seriously? You think there was no reason to believe that SF would have a new game coming out? I will go back to the old "Its been about 7 years since the last canon title came out" arguement. Nintendo showed interest in trying to sell SF games (or at least some potential they might see in the series) with the 3DS title (even though it was a re-release of SF64) Sure, next year will be the 20 year anniversary, but I believe there is a small chance they may just bundle the titles together....and that I dont want. If however the 20 year anniversary means they will revive SF with a new game, I can wait. Last time they rushed a game, we got Command.

Well said, although, the notion of Nintendo bundling all of the Star Fox games sounds pretty nice too. Of course a new game is definitely my first option if I had to pick. They can take as long as they need to produce a great game that will be canon, but I'm sure I speak for everyone when I say "i wish we at least got some affirmation or teaser indicating that it was in the works"... Anyone else getting some sweet Super Mario World vibes from NSMBU? I'm definitely going to try to get it for Wii U. It looks like it'll be more fun, easy to play, etc, with the second screen. I've just loved this idea since it was announced. As for NSMBU, yes… it looks nice. I just hope it's more interesting and… clever, than NSMBDS/Wii. Mellow Walrus
The whole zombie game genre started to look a bit stale in the past few years, but ZombiU actually looks pretty good, particularly the bit where death is permanent for one character and it'll jump you to another who can go to retrieve the items you lost. That's actually an idea I fantasized of before, I'm glad developers are already ahead of me. I'm hoping it'll be a real survival game. The rest of the launch lineup seemed alright, if anything I'm impressed by the sheer quantity of games that'll come out right away. I still need to see a bigger Killer App to convince me to buy it though, but I might re-get Arkham City since my PS3 died I am getting the Paper Mario game for the 3DS, no doubt about that

CrypticQuery
I just got the chance to watch Nintendo's conference, and I'm feeling a lukewarm response at best. It seems as if Nintendo isn't quite learning from their past mistakes, and that fact is frightening me. The biggest complaint I have is that they really didn't show off the Wii-U the best that they could. It seems as if it is only an addon to the Wii at this point; the Wii's controllers are necessary/compatible, and the actual Wii-U console has barely been talked about as opposed to its controller. The games weren't the greatest, but I've come to expect that from console launches. There should have been a bigger third-party presence as well; many of the games toted from 3rd parties are just rehashes that have already been available for current-generation consoles for quite some time now. Only time will tell, but out of MS, Sony, and Nintendo's conferences this year, it is easy to say that Sony came out on top [even with that ridiculous book-thing with Move.] Here's a good video BTW, just a teensy bit of NSFW at the beginning;
CrypticQuery
Also, I hate to double post, but there is some bad news pertaining to the Wii-U's controllers. Although you can use two at once, when using two controllers simultaneously the framerate of the game drops to half. 60FPS to 30FPS. Also, the controllers each have a battery life of 3-5 hours, officially said as per Nintendo. http://kotaku.com/5916052/two-controllers-slows-down-your-wii-u-games http://kotaku.com/5916047/oh-dear-the-wii-us-controller-battery-only-lasts-for-3+5-hours
StarFoxfan-FUR_ever
Hi again Crazy, this is going to be a recurring theme i see.... Here's a perfect example of a more recent and developing issue with i see in the industry. Remember when you used to plug your controller into your system, (and with a lot of slack remaining on the wire, I might add) thus powering the controller via the electricity from your outlet? Well now gamers have to deal with the stress of their controller possibly dying on them mid game. Even though rechargeable batteries do exist, not all controller types have rechargeable batteries available for them. Back in the day, a gamer's concern was that their cartrige may shift and cause the game to freeze while saving data after beating that impossible level you've been stuck on for 2 weeks. Now gamers have to worry about having enough battery life to last through a playthrough? Some games still have long levels, and really long cutscenes.... and this constraint on the controller life really dosen't help the situation. It's an unnecessary burden to have to power off controllers to save battery life during these cutscenes. Battery life IMO should only apply to a handheld system. You can still have motion controlled gaming if developers really want to push it, but please, attach a wire to the controller. (Looking at both Nintendo and Sony) I am usually not willing to bash Nintendo, but honestly, in this case Microsoft has the advantage on them and Sony. "Can you stand up on your own? If so, then you can play motion controlled games." At first I mocked this concept, but it was actually a great idea in hindsight. In terms of making it easier to play games. [it probably will, ] Assuming that you'll be able to play with the Wii-U controller plugged in, the problem I see is that if you do have it plugged it, it will be a pain to move it around and look at the screen on the controller if there is a cord attached to it. The controller should be simple IMO; I'm also quite frightened at how much these things may cost.

It's an unnecessary burden to have to power off controllers to save battery life during these cutscenes I remember back in the day when we had wired controllers!! It was also back in the day I could go to a game store and make a list of games that looked appealing to me as opposed to now . Don't all systems have a pause program built into the console to go off when it doesn't detect the controller mid game time? That would eliminate "stress" on the user's part...though the efficiency in battery life of 3-5 hours is embarrassingly short compared to even those eyesore nunchucks. An old Gameboy has better battery life. As Crazy posted, this poor battery life performance and the reduction of framerate for the Wii U sounds about up to par with Nintendo lately . They just insist on being ultra progressive in developing something new (which they have succeeded at, don't get me wrong), that strangely doesn't feel as intuitive as they think it should, and isn't as popular as they imagined. Wish they would get their heads back into the game of developing more serious games. Otherwise they need to get their head out of their posterior and start developing for mobile platforms since that's were casual gaming is going. Also, I thought the Wii U was basically just an accessory to the Wii?...It's a standalone platform capable of playing its own games without a Wii?... If so, their advertising is so bad I could probably stand on the streets with Wii U plastered across my forehead and it would be more effective in alerting people as to what it is capable of @Star Fox Runner, Keep us posted on the goodies. :-)
LoneWolf
REEEEEGGGGIEE Nintendo tends to just ride the hype, then release some sort of semi-cool stuff that actually turns out pretty good in the end. The fact that they announced stuff this year means another year of good games to play. Just sadly no StarFox.
Star Fox Runner
Sadly the roundtable yielded no new games, but they did reveal that all save data and game purchases you made on your Wii will transfer to the Wii U, so I won't lose my VC games! We got one day left though, they're holding another conference Wednesday night for Nintendo 3DS games, cross your fingers for something good there. Xidphel
Ah yes. NSMBU. Quite the innovation they've added: The tablet can be used to place blocks for the players to walk on. The use: Let players reach inaccessible areas. The REAL use: Have a friend hit it and fall in the pit.
Ellanie
Just watched the 3DS showcase. First off, no StarFox. Otherwise, boring. I'm not excited for anything Nintendo is showing off. Not a single game! How depressing!
