Milkyway64
We -just got- a Starfox game. And besides one is rumored to be in the works anyway, kind of.
CrypticQuery
I thought this one was better. More games I was interested in. But the Host... Ugh, he was terrible. A drone. He didn't seem into it. At least he wasn't like "Mr. Caffeine" from Ubisoft's conference last year! :P
LoneWolf
E3 this year has been pretty crappy. No great Nintendo titles, no mind blowing Sony announcements, and Microsoft All we can do is hope that PAX or one of the other expos has better stuff. Deploy
Ubisoft and Nintendo did ok, but it was still nothing spectacular. Sony, M$, and the rest did absolutely awful. E3 was horrible this year... :(
Icy
E3 was horrible this year... Everyone keeps saying this more than usual. I really don't understand. Some people may not have gotten what they wanted, but I was extremely satisfied with everyone. Microsoft was okay for Microsoft (they're always the weakest one) EA was spectacular, Ubisoft also. Sony was pretty good. Nintendo was… pretty good. There was all kinds of stuff I was really excited to see this year. It was all presented well and overall I was very satisfied. That's just me, though, I suppose…

That's just me, though, I suppose… The problem for people (including me) was that this E3 was completely bare of surprises save a few things. When I've seen E3 in the past years, there was almost always tons of games that were never shown before to surprise us. This year, it was mostly seeing more footage of stuff we already knew was around.
sroberson
One of the reasons I feel like this E3 result (for Nintendo) was disappointing, was because of the Wii U. I honestly wished I could get a straight answer about how the Wii U actually works. Standalone platform that you hook up to a television? A fancy controller you attach to a Wii and thus is only an accessory? A powerful handheld device? What is it? Because all I really understand from Nintendo is "OOOH LOOKIE I CAN PLAY GAMES BY WAVING MY ARMS AROUND IN THE AIR AGAIN!" which that part would be forgiven if they had at least had a solid lineup of games that were fun to play and got me excited (the next iteration of Super Side Scroller doesn't excite me as this is the pitch for that franchise for the past 20+ years, and the next Wii insert the blank doesn't even come close to grabbing my attention. Their games have gotten incredibly stale imo). To hear that Nintendo failed to at least give a great explanation of the Wii U yet again really has me turned off by it or at least afraid to invest in it. This awkward mode that Nintendo has got itself in to targeting young audiences while trying to convince older gaming generations that they will have fun too is really also bothersome as they in the end estrange both. Worse than that though, is that they are estranging software companies who don't want to develop for a company who can't make their mind up about what they want to do and implement a means of controlling games that the companies don't want to use. Of course if StarFox made a spectacular appearance all would be forgiven and I would throw money at preorders and the works.

I honestly wished I could get a straight answer about how the Wii U actually works. Standalone platform that you hook up to a television? A fancy controller you attach to a Wii and thus is only an accessory? A powerful handheld device? What is it? WiiU is an entirely new console. This has been stated numerous times. Pay attention. On a side note, the fact that people STILL, even after this E3 where I felt they made it pretty damn clear, people don't seem to know what WiiU is (even CNN called it a new controller for Wii until corrected), makes me think Nintendo screwed the pooch by not changing the name. Motion control is here to stay. All three major consoles have it now. Again, you show your lack of attention. Most of the developers that commented on WiiU have said they love the thing. WiiU has the most 3rd party support at launch than any Nintendo console or handheld I can remember. There are legitimate concerns with the WiiU, including a lack of software to get loyal Nintendo fans excited, but pay attention before pooh-poohing it over stuff that isn't true. Bet even with the software issues, we know it is coming. It won't be at launch, but it is coming. Nothing announced at E3 this year is coming out in 2013. It's all this year stuff. There is still TGC and the Q3 Nintendo press events that they hold every year.

All three major consoles have it now. With all due respect, the fact that I have to be told to "pay attention" to the E3 conference regarding hardware that has been a definite for over a year proves that Nintendo failed to effectively market the WiiU properly. Most people who will go out and buy the console/game pad/whatever probably didn't scrutinize the videos and blogs coming from the convention, and much like myself, probably saw the same thing - a lot of people standing around a television armed with either Wii-motes or the WiiU being used as what we assumed to be an accessory to the Wii. Even the video with non-specific action hero didn't really clear things up as it was just another person getting overly excited about playing a game through...a special tablet looking controller? That is supposedly the console? They could have put together 10 seconds of video showing somebody putting the WiiU down on a table, pop a disk in and they go slouch off to a sofa to play a game. Boom. I got it. Its a console. The younger generation of gamers (who I still believe will make up the majority of the market) probably were too busy riding a bike outside to see any of the videos at all, and their parents definitely didn't see anything. Now, I am no marketing person and have never studied it, but to me it sounds like a unhealthy strategy to try and sell a console that carries some level of ambiguity as to what it really does (which even you admit, the ambiguity exists in examples like CNN). Perhaps I am just extremely hung up on not understanding how it works. How does the console that I am supposedly holding in my hand, project an image on a television 10 to 20 feet away from me? You're right, all three consoles have motion control somewhere in it, but only Nintendo forces you to use it. Kinect is an addon, whatever its called for Playstation is an addon and otherwise the controls CAN be used to make gestures. The Wii doesn't give you a choice, which I would have loved to have...let me experiment with the possibility of controlling my actions through gestures. To me Microsoft and Sony are following the gaming market as they warm up to motion controls, Nintendo is awkwardly trying to create demand which just sounds dangerous. I was happy to hear that they were considering taking a step back and create a traditional controller...I think? I never heard much about it other than a few sentences suggesting it can be connected to the WiiU
