Xidphel
K. I've seen people getting hyped for things that take longer than it should take finish and end up disappointed as a result. The recent meet the pyro, Duke Nukem Forever and ME3 are examples (last one being questionable since I don't really care about ME.) Starcraft 2 was lucky to be in the exception bucket. So for you people who would rather cling to your hype, here's the gamer matrix straight from Zero Punctuation: Now next time something like that happens, remember to gauge your excitement accordingly.
RougetheBat4Real
Maybe just find more to live for. So a game turns out to be a bust. The game of life is what I live for. Treasure. Gems. Why waste your time in futile thinking?

RougetheBat4Real
Looks like we need a Neo to bust the Gamer Matrix, huh? And GreenFox, your avatar is atrocious. It's not even a green fox. I expect better from my little guy.

Scourge
Everything after OP ... My response: Now. Re-railing this train as hastily as possible, Yahtzee has always had a good point about hype, that chart explains it perfectly, and this is a philosophy that I carry in all things: Expect the worst, and prepare accordingly. If it turns out to be the worst, then you're ready and able to deal with it. If it turns out better than expected, then a pleasant surprise awaits you.

So if we expect the best and get the worst we get so dissapointed that according to the OP, we commit suicide. But if we expect the worst, and get the best, we buy ourselves a pair of nifty little wings like mine, and we kiss each other on the lips.

You're skating on thin ice as it is; stop derailing topics, and stick to the task at hand please. -------- Gotta love Yahtzee, but with certain things you can't help but to be excited. Take Duke Nukem Forever; 14 years of building hype will get anyone's hopes up. While the game wasn't as bad as people let on, it definitely didn't live up to the legacy of the past Duke games.
