TCPeppyTc
How do you like the way Peppy ( my favorite character) was handled? Im a little upset they made him out to be a doddering old man, who has to give up his spot to Krystal. He's definitly older than the others in '64, but its more like he's 45 to the others 20-25. It just seems he's not old enough to be shelved. I also think its unrealistic he'd be appointed head of the Cornerian army. He is a great pilot but that is it. He has no military training and no background in leadership and organizing, strategy etc. to justify him being head of the entire army. Am I the only one who is upset about Peppy? Command: Q-games hiring a bunch of bad fan-fiction writers and telling them to make the story. and remember what Ive always said about command? Lets just all pretend Command never happened.
Hidi
No I totally agree with you! I thought Peppy should have stayed on the team as a pilot despite his age. He certainly shouldn't have been appointed general of any army for all the reasons you stated which is a yet another reason Command shouldn't be cannon. I don't think he was the only character mishandled: all of them were, just some worse than others and in different ways. Peppy had lots of potential to do things in every game. Hopefully with the "reboot" of the series with the remake of Star Fox 64, Peppy will be a little more used. EDIT: To be correct TCPeppy, in Star Fox 64, the characters are this old: Fox and Slippy: 18 Falco:19 Peppy: 41 If you go to the SF-O backup of the original website of that game, you can find the bios of them with their ages: http://f.starfox-online.net/archives/starFox64.comReconstructed/sfteam.html Command: Q-games hiring a bunch of bad fan-fiction writers and telling them to make the story. and remember what Ive always said about command? Darn, you posted before me, but maybe you should make that one quote of yours your signature.

TCPeppyTc
Very informative and enlightening. Im glad the old 1997 website is up. We will have to hope that the starfox reboot will include a cast of better revised characters. I hope it actually happens too
sjrathbun812
Command shouldn't be cannon. Wat. Command, technically, isn't cannon because they have so many endings to that game, and I doubt Nintendo, (if they make a new game,) would pick one and use it to progress the series. Hidi
There was still the possibility lingering around that some of it (Such as the beginning of the game) could be cannon, except that still means Peppy is a general........So that doesn't really help this case. Hopefully with a reboot to the series all the characters can have their proper share if character development. You mean like that? Yeah, that works, but since it's your line, you could also just simply write it in your signature.
jeth
He created one of the most quoted lines of all time, (You know what I'm talking about.) so of corse he's awesome! XD But yeah, he was awesome (Even with out "do a barrel roll") Until COMMAND ruined him (Like it did every one elce. )
The Shaper
My favorite character, barrel roll was never funny, etc. Anyway realistically he is probably a much better pilot than Krystal and in Assault when you play as him it shows he is still able to move and fight just like he used to. As for commanding an army? I can't say I see him in that position. He is a wise old man, but not a wise old general. Still probably better than General Pepper I guess. Hidi
Chances are, when he randomly got promoted to General in Command, he was thinking What the ****!
Scourge
Chances are, we should forget command. It has enough plotholes that if it were a planet-size ball of swiss-cheese, it would be nothing but a thin shell with 70% of its surface being holes.
Gestalt
Peppy should have died in Assault. It would have been much more entertaining.
sjrathbun812
I personally never found the barrel roll line funny or annoying. If anything, I found it useful because it gave me a headsup on incoming enemy fire.
Hidi
Peppy should have died in Assault. It would have been much more entertaining. Yes, I thought about that one a little too. If Command was cannon, we'd wish that would have happened so he wouldn't have to be general. I always made fun of that cutscene in Assault where he nearly dies, with: Fox: Peppy, you can't die! Peppy: Well yeah I can! *Shoots self* I personally never found the barrel roll line funny or annoying. If anything, I found it useful because it gave me a headsup on incoming enemy fire. Yeah, he's always been useful for that, especially in Meteo: it can be quite a challenge to do that without Peppy.
RennardFuchs
The problem is that Nintendo games are children-friendly... loosing a character in a dramatic way could be too much for children (well, maybe not for them, but the upset parrents would think so). If you want such dramatic scenes (I would love more maturity in Starfox [actually it's one of the darkest Nintendo universes])- there are a lot of good fan-fics... but in the Nintendo canon - never. That's what made the plot in Star Fox 64 so great though: it was simple, easy to understand, yet it packed so much emotion and action into it. If they could recreate that, which they haven't, then that would be awesome. Also, as the plot got a little more complex in Assault and Adventures, the games were rated Teen for that reason. Star Fox 64 was rated K-A at the time (No longer a valid rating) and later E 10+.
Scourge
"Peppy... You mustn't" This line was just... No.. please tell me this was a translation thing, and not some mailroom-moron's attempt at dramatic lines.
Hidi
Nah sounds like a failed attempt at drama. "All your base are belong to us" is a better example of a bad translation.
Prince Elite
Well Star Fox went downhill past Lylat Wars, and the series is just weird. Unfortunately it is what it is, Peppy being shelved, I didn't like that at all. Mind you there's a lot of stuff that people don't like about the later games *cough* command *cough* Him being head of the army as you said, unrealistic. Unless he had a military background we didn't know about. So yeah, you're not alone in the upset category.
Vulvokunvrii
Well, he was alright. I was greatful for some of his tips and advise (especially if you pu the game down for a loooong time and then come back to it clueless), but yeah...he was more reliable than Krystal as a Pilot. I'll give him that. Sure he shouldn't have been shelved like that, but he seemed to have a "Secon-in-Command" feel in Assault. Being a senior memebr of StarFox, he sort of deserved that kind of command role in my opinion. Edited July 17, 2012 by Dark the Lucario
sjrathbun812
Well, Pepper did fall ill, didn't he? Who else would be better to take on the roll of genneral? Besides, Peppy has gotten old, and really doesn't belong in the field of battle anymore. I say it was a fine decision that he became genneral.
