XG Fox
{Planet Corneria, General Pepper's office in the Cornerian Air Academy} "Pulsar Foxes! You did it!" Koriani rolled his eyes. "Katina? That was a piece of cake. How was the reaction back here?" "The public doesn't know yet. We didn't want to tell them yet that Katina had been retaken, because we don't know everyone who is pro-Venomian at this point. The Cornerians know that we can hold them to Katina without a problem, so they're not too worried. The pro-Venomian people however, if we tell them that Katina was retaken, they might rise up. And if they do that, chances are a firefight's going to ensue. And if that happens, they'll likely be killed. And you know what THAT means." "Exactly. Fuel to the fire." "That's why we haven't told them yet. And on another note, it seems there's been several explosions at a Cornerian base on Titania. We don't know what, or who caused them yet. But we'd like you to go investigate." Koriani's eyes narrowed. "This isn't the right time for that, General." "Wha- what are you talking about?" "If you send us in now, they'll come up with some strange reason to strike harder. You don't want that. Exactly HOW many people in all live on the planets in the Venomian Alliance?" "Uh..." Osheira chimed in. "Maybe I can help here. 35,483,916,266 people in all live on those FOUR planets. That doesn't count Fichina, Corneria, Katina, or Fortuna. The total Lylat population is WELL into the trillions." Koriani picked up where Osheira left off. "So if you send us onto their turf, you're sending us on a suicide run. FIVE on some God-known number are not odds even WE would like to be matched up against." Pepper's mouth opened, but he shut it without saying a word. "NOW you see. You would need more units if you ever hope to go after that base. And as far as I'm concerned right now, if it's on their turf, they can HAVE it. But sending us to scrap it so they CAN'T have it isn't a bad idea either. And again, if you do that, you're sending us on a suicide run. We can't go in there alone, we need backup." Pepper looked at the floor. "I see. But that base... it has Lylatizon research information inside." The entire Pulsar Foxes team stared at Pepper. "NO. WAY." "Yes, I'm afraid. If they find the Lylatizon research information, they could develop Lylatizon powered craft! There's information in there about Lylatizon drive engines capable of any speed you can imagine!" Koriani's eyes widened. "We can't let them have that. Where exactly in the base is it?" "It's in a well-hidden underground base. It's extremely hard to find, and there is no written information about it. They would have to find someone who knows how to get in to be able to access it. And there's VERY few people that know how to do so." "How many extra fighter squadrons do you have?" "We recalled Husky and Bulldog from Katina, we left Katina's Elite Squadron defending Frontline and Frontier. They held quite well, so we plan on leaving them there." "So Husky and Bulldog are extras?" "No, the Cornerian Elite Squadron is, though. Have you ever heard of the top pilot of that squadron? A fox by the name of Snowe Biden?" "Never heard of the guy. Is he good?" "He's absolutely AWESOME. Fox would be jealous." "Wow... he must be good then. How good is the rest of the squadron?" "Pretty dang good. They're all here at the Academy, as a matter of fact, for more training of rookies." "Do they know about Katina yet?" Pepper rolled his eyes. "I thought I told you, we haven't told the public yet." Koriani's jaw dropped. "You haven't told your own TROOPS???" "We don't know if any of them are pro-Venomian either." "Wow, that's great. Anyway, where can I find this Snowe Biden?" Pepper grinned for a second, them picked up the intercom microphone. "Right here." He paused for a second before saying, "Snowe Biden, please report to the General's office as soon as possible, please? That is all."
EvolutionSFox
*Snowe flinched when he heard his name, then he muttered to himself* "Oh no... That means I'm being promoted... or in some HUGE trouble." Snowe rushed to the general's office and he knocked on the door then he opened it slowly. "You wanted to see me sir?" Snowe noticed another group in the room with him. "Sir, who are these guys? They look pretty tough."
Ranger One
OOC: Thoughts, which are in italics are always those of my main character, Jod (Ranger 1.). Location: Bridge of the S.S. Wanderer, near the edge of the Lylat system. Time: Ship time: 04:00 hours. (Jod walkes onto the bridge of the Blockade Runner as the doors quietly hiss shut behind him. The bridge is quet right now, given what time it is for everyone on board: most of the crew (approximatley 25 crew members total, 5 of them being former members of a marine regiment that had worked closely with Ranger Squadron during the war back home.) were off shift right now. Only one of the ships 75 robots and astromechs is on the bridge, A multi-purpose unit of some sort. The bot isn't of a Serinan build: A lot of the robots on board had been acquired later in their travels to assist or replace the few bots they'd had on board when they first started. Aside from the droids, the only two people on the bridge are Vallo and Ace, by the communications console. Jod walks over and joins them.) Jod: I'm guessing you've found something pretty important, Vallo? Vallo: Would I have sent Ace to find you if I hadn't? (For a human, Vallo, who's full name is Vallo Terran, is rather tall, aproximatly 1.8 meters tall. Vallo's apperance is rather simplistic: he wears a light tan tunnic and pants, as well as brown boots and a simple brown belt. With brown-grey hair and a similarly colored beard and mustach, Vallo hardly stands out in a crowd, even in systems that are rarely visited by humans. Vallo also seems to have an air of calm around him. Its difficult to describe, but one can almost feel an aura of peace radiating from him. Only one object stands out on Vallo: a metal cylinder attached to his belt...) Jod: Heh, I guess not. Ace: Hey! Jod: (trying not to laugh) Relax Ace, i was only Jokeing Vallo: I hate to interupt you two, but... Jod: Right... so, what have we got? Vallo: There's a lot of comm chatter going on in this system right now, i figured you'd be interested... (Vallo clicks a switch, and one of the displays begins reading out comm messages... most of which are encrypted....) Vallo: Judging from the few i could make out, it seems that a war of some sort just broke out in this system. Jod: Great. You were right to fill me in on this: we could have gone cruising into the middle of a warzone otherwise. Ace: Meh, one wars enough for me, thanks. Jod: Heh, same here, Ace, I just wish we could find Thatanos and wrap ours up once and for all... wait... (A new encrypted message just flashed across the screen) Jod: Hold it... (with a few keystrokes, Jod orders the display to show all messages picked up in system within the last few seconds on all frequencys. One stands out from the rest: Its a code Jod and his wingmen are all to familiar with by now....) Jod: Blast... why here? Vallo: My thoughts exactly... Ace: Someone, please, tell me thats not what I think it is... Jod: I kinda wish i could, Ace... but I can't. Ace: Thanks alot... Vallo: It make sense, what better place to hide than in a warzone? We'd give it a wide berth normaly. Ace: But we got lucky and picked a signal of his up... (Vallo looks like he's biteing back some words when Ace says "luck," but remains quite.) Jod: But is it even him? He's used decoys before... (Jod has the computer decrypt the messages. After a few moments, the messages are displayed on screen...) Computer Screen: Source 1: ... So its settled then? You'll help us? Source 2: Yes... but remeber, you owe us, my master doesn't exaclty offer aid to others for free you know... Source 1: Yes, yes, I know... but we need your help, we don't have enough forces available, and just from the one Warship of yours i've seen before, and with those kind of vessels... Source 2: It'd be wise not to mention that right now, as this isn't exaclty the most secure of channels, even with our encryptions on it. If your enemies learn that you're dealing with us, you may find yourselves hard pressed to hold them off long enough for my Master to rally his remaining forces... like you said, they already outnumber you greatly. Source 1: Fine, fine, I get your point. So, when can we expect to hear from you again? Source 2: The usual time, of course. Source 1: Right... *Signal lost: Signal has been terminated.* Jod: Blast... its not him, but... Ace: You think they really plan to get involved in this? I mean, they don't really have much of a fleet after all... Vallo: We don't know how many forces they have left: remeber, they scattered after their defeat at the end of the war, they could have only doezns of warships, or they could have hundreds... or even more. Jod: Well, we can't exaclty avoid this now... like it or not, we're going to have to head deeper into the system. It could Easily be a trap, he know's we're following him after all, and he could be hopeing to get us caught up in this conflict... or this could be genuine. Either way, we can't afford to pass this up. Vallo: I agree... but we'll want to be careful. No point in getting to involved too soon, unless we have to... Jod: Right. Ace: So... I guess we're heading into a warzone after all? Jod: Fraid so. Ace: (Groans) great... (A few minutes later, the Wanderer changes course and heads deeper into the Lylat System...) Well, here we go... looks like we finnaly got ourselves a lead, but this might be a bit more than we can handle... but we have no choice, the only reason I can think of for him helping one side out here is that he hopes to gain support from them later on when he's regrouped and rebuilt his forces sufficently to attack the Alliance again... no mater the cost, we can't let him get away with this... I don't know where you are out there Thatanos, but I know one thing for sure: we won't let you get away this time...

XG Fox
((Yo XG' date=' do you want to solely RP General Pepper?))[/color'] ((Dunno, I just used him to fit my plotline in there. And it seems to be working just peachy! )) Koriani's attention suddenly snapped from General Pepper to the door opening. In walked a blue eyed falcon wearing a black hooded cloak. He just couldn't help but stare at the falcon's striking appearance. The blue eyes just seemed to glow. "Whoa... General, who's this?" General Pepper turned to face the group. "This is Edgar Lombardi, everyone." "Lombardi... like, Falco Lombardi?" Koriani's comment earned a nod from the avian. "So wait, there's... seven of us here... are we all flying together?" Pepper answered that question rather quickly. "Well, Edgar's not too sure yet, but in the meantime, excuse me for a second Edgar." General Pepper got up from his chair and went to address the remaining six people in the room, the Pulsar Foxes and Snowe. "Alright Snowe, these are the Pulsar Foxes, the heroes of Katina. You likely heard that Katina was taken by the Venomians. Well it just so happens that I sent this group to retake Katina, and they did so with amazing speed, save for destroying a Lylatizon plant. But that was under a very good reason, and I approve of its destruction. But here's the REAL problem. There's a Cornerian base on Titania that is currently under attack. It has vital Lylatizon plans in it, and they must be recovered. The Pulsar Foxes here are eager to undertake flying in there, but they need some air support, because they will be going planetside. Would your squadron like to assist in the assault?"
brotheroffalco
heh, so this is the Pulsar foxes team I've heard so much about; I'm pretty sure I've seen there leader before, but don't remember where. I wish he would stop staring at me like that...No matter; It looks like I might start working with them so I better get used to it *begins pacing the room and his eyes start to glow vigerously* Not good, I sense great danger in the mission ahead, i must be extra careful. Ranger One
Location: Outer Rim of the Lylat System. On board the S.S. Wanderer. (Jod stared at the main veiwscreen on the bridge, which currently showed the stars slowly moving by as the ship traveled deeper into the system...) Voice: You going to sit here looking at the screen all day, Jod? Jod: Heh, not really much else I can do, Gauge. (Gauge is a male golden retriever, and was one of the teams best pilots. Gauge is currently clad in a blue shirt with matching blue pants, and i wearing a grey vest over his outfit. Gauge has only one good eye, as a scar can be seen running across his left one: the results of an encounter with one of Thatanos's minions. Gauge was able to walk away from the encounter, but barely. Still, the loss of one eye hasn't hindered Gauge's skills in the cockpit or with a blaster in the least.) Gauge: *sniffs* hmph, you could always go clean up a bit, you smell like thruster lubricant. Jod: And knowing our luck, someone would decide to take some potshots at us right... Gauge: Meh, don't say that, that's a mental immage I can do without. Jod: You're not the only one. And acctualy having it happen once was enough for me... (turns back towards the viewscreen.) Gauge: Jod... Jod: Yeah? Gauge: Jod, You've been on the bridge for about 3 hours now, and i know you were in the hangar working on the Explorer for another 6 hours before that, and... Jod: *shakes his head* Alright, Gauge, alright, I know what i've been doing over the last 24 hours, whats your point? Gauge: Jod, when was the last time you got some sleep? Jod: *blinks* Uh.. whoops. Gauge: I thought so... how the heck can you even do that? I'd be out cold on the floor if i'd tried to go 48 hours without sleep. Jod: 48 hours? It can't have been... Gauge: Just ask the computer how long its been since you've been to your quarters. Jod: Meh, alright. I get the point, Gauge. (is about to turn back to the viewscreen....) Gauge: Sir, that viewscreen will still be there later, you don't have to watch it all the time. Jod: *Sigh* Gauge... Gauge: Jod... i know how you feel, heck, we all do. Up untill a few hours ago, we were almost sure Thatanos had given us the slip again. Now we may have caught up with him once more, or at least one of his higher ranking officers. But you're not going to do anyone much good when we find him if you're falling asleep at the controls of your ship. Jod: Gauge... Gauge: Sir... either you can go to your quarters and get some rest... (a grin spreads across his face.) Or i'm going to ask Aris to take a look at ya. Jod: (look of mock horror on his face) You wouldn't. Gauge: I would. Jod: Even knowing she'd skin me alive for being a month overdue on that physical? Gauge: You're the one who choose to skip it, sir. Jod: (smiles, and shakes his head) Alright, alright. You win... but that was playing dirty, Gauge. Gauge: Well, it got the job done. If you want, i'll stay here and hold down the fort for ya. Jod: Will Aris kill me if I leave anyone else on the bridge in my place? Gauge: I hope not. Jod: (trying hard not to laugh) Alright... (gets up and starts to walk towards the bridge doors, then turns to face Gauge.) (smiles) I'll make sure to remeber this, Gauge. Gauge: Remeber what? Jod: Threatening to turn me over to the Doctor. What gave you that idea anyways? Gauge: Um... Jod: (laughs) She asked you to do this, didn't she? Gauge: (shakes his head) Great, now i'm the one who's going to be in trouble with her. She told me not to tell you who put me up to this. Jod: Relax, I won't mention a thing... besides, if i go anywhere's near her, she'll eat me alive for missing that physical. Gauge: Alright... oh, and you might want to go the long way on deck 5 back to your quarters, Jod, i think Aris is hopeing to catch you on your way back on the main deck. Jod: Thanks for the warning, Gauge... (Walks over to the exit. The bridge doors slide open just before he reaches them, then slide shut behind him.) OOC: Okay... thats 4 crew down, and 4 to go. I'm planning on introducing the rest of the crew with my next post. This one was short, but i'm trying not to cross from RP posts into full blown stories here, lol. Ranger One
OOC: Wow... been a while since anyone posted in this RP, and some otheres seem to have gone poof. /bump to keep this one alive for now. Okay, now for the RP stuff: Location: Outer Rim/Mid Rim of the Lylat System. (Two days after entering the Lylat system....) Jod: "Nothing..." Ace: "Heh, same as the past two days... i'm begining to wonder if that transmision we picked up was fake." "Ugh, don't say that, we've been on too many wild goose chases recently to loose them again..." (Jod took a moment to glance at the young hamster who'd just said these words. Chubbs, one of the teams 2 mechanics, he was half the reason the Wanderer was able to make the long trips between systems it was capable of. Although Chubbs was an acomplished mechanic, his piloting skills, to say the least, left a lot to be desired sometimes.) Jod: "Relax Chubbs, If they're out here, they can't hide forever." Chubbs: "What if they've already moved on?" Ace: "Then we'll just track em down again, like we always do..." Jod: "Ace is right. Still, I'd rather find them and put and end to this once and for all if we get the chance." (Suddenly, a rapid beeping emmits from the tactical console on the bridge. Out of reflex, Jod nearly jumps from his chair at the center of the bridge and heads over to check it out, but stops himself when he sees Gauge is already halfway there.) Jeez... i need to settle down, my days of trying to do everything myself ended the day i took command of the squad... Gauge: Um, Jod. Long range scaners have picked up something, you might want to take a look... Jod: Hmm? (gets up and heads over to the tactical station.) Gauge: Right here. (points at the readouts on one of the pannels.) (Jod can't decide if he should be excited or scared.... the long range scanners have definently picked up something... namely, an Inquisitor class star ship... a design used by only one spacefareing group in the galaxy...) Jod: Well... we found em... looks like they were trying to hide in a gas cloud in this system... (Suddenly an alarm on the console goes off. It doesn't take much to see why: the Inquisitor class ship has just changed course... specificly, its on a direct intercept course with the Wanderer...) Gauge: Looks like they've found us too... Ace: What? Its just one of their ships, it shouldn't... Jod: Ace, its an Inquisitor Class vessel, that thing packs enough firepower to blow us right out of space, even with all the modifications we've made to the Wanderer... Ace: (Blinks.) Oh (-another word for feces-). Jod: Exactly. Well, looks like we got more than we bargained for. How long till they intercept us? Gauge: I'd say... (looks at the sensor display) 2 hours... 3 if we try to make a run for it, they can both out-run and out-gun us... Jod: Great.... well, we may as well get ready. Lets take the Wanderer to red alert... I want all pilots and bridge crew ready in the brefing room in 20 mintues as well... we've got 2 hours, lets make the most of them... Ace, set the Wanderer on a course that'll lengthen the time it takes that dreadnaught to intercept us as much as possible, then report to the meeting with everyone else. Ace: Alright (during this time, red emergency lights have come on to indicate the ship is on red alert, as well as a red alert signal that is now playing over the PA system on the ship.) Jod: Okay, someone shut the alert klaxon off, i think everyone's got the message by now. Gauge: Gladly. (Gauge shuts the alarm off, but the emergency lights remain on.) Ace: Whew... i can't stand that thing. Jod: You and me both, that thing's death on my ears sometimes... alright, i'll see everyone in the briefing room, 20 minutes people... (Several of the crew on the bridge respond with affirmatives, then Jod leaves the bridge...) Great... guess we found a lot more than we bargained for... and i thought we'd have to worry about the war going on out here, not a fight with a blacknova dreadnaught... we can't fight it, can't outrun it... well, we'll have to come up with something... or our mission's going to end here... OOC Note: Okay, this is supposed to be in sync with the meeting that was going on for just about everyone else before this thread "died." Hope this gets things going again...
