Thu'um
Okay so sure Skyrim is a defensible region, the Stormcloaks have a good defensive system........ and not much else. If the Aldermi Dominion invaded Skyrim there would be a standstill due to the Stormcloaks staunch defense of the region so you say. Although if it does come to a standstill, the Dominion could probably find an easy way of outlasting Skyrim until they are too weak to fight. Also if you actually play the game, notice how just because there are mountains everywhere doesn't make the terrain impeding and hard to traverse. So no, it's not as easy to defend as you keep saying it is. The dominion probably could hold them in dffensive position for a while, but who says skyrim is unable to feed her self? i highly doubt she imports food at this point. And If they do out last skyrim, they will have done a better job then the empire that is doomed to fall. And yes its easy to to transverse is you follow roads, travelling is made much more difficult if roads arn't used. And your a single man. Large armies are almost totatly dependent upon roads, The thalmor arn't used to the cold, and its likly the deffenders would out last the thalmor who don't know how to provide for them sleves in skyrim. and who be dependent upon supply caravans which are ambushed all the time in skyrim by thalmor and bandits. Also the roads often are forsted on a side, or go through dangoures area. Easly ambushable if you ask me.
