psy_commando
I've been wondering, I'm 24 now, but when I'm like 40 would I remember or even still care about starfox. Is there is such a thing as an age limit to be into Starfox ? And I'm also wondering if any of you can see themselves, much later, still sticking around starfox forums ? I think there's some social pressure to leave these kinds of thing when you grow older, and more serious..
"User"
I think there's some social pressure to leave these kinds of thing when you grow older, and more serious.. I disagree. I don't think this will be the case with people decades from now. The first web page came out in what...1991? That was about 20 years ago and people who are middle aged and older didn't have the internet growing up and thus it's easy to see that this demographic doesn't have as much of an interest in these kinds of things compared to us who are younger. Give it 20-30 years from now I can assure you would probably see more older people online in forums and what not then younger people - especially as the birth rate isn't nearly what it used to be. Concerning Star Fox...for me, as long as there is new Krystal related content I'll probably be around as long as the board exists. ;)
sroberson
Heck I figured I was over Star Fox a while ago...Can't say what drew me back in about the time I joined the page, but for some reason I got drawn into reading the fiction and I just kind of felt some weird connection I guess to super-nostalgia goggles. Oh well, i'm here, and I seriously consider many people here to be friends of mine and have enjoyed the community I have experienced from being a part of the fandom. I guess the day will come when getting old means getting really lame and boring but I am not there yet!
Wes
There is no age limit. I'm hoping that Nintendo releases some good Star Fox games between now and when I'm 40.

Icy
QFT Seriously, though, I'll never be "too old" for Star Fox. I've always got a place for it and the many other game franchises around. And if the Internet still exists when I'm 40, and there are Star Fox forums, then I can gladly say I'll still be visiting them.

Steve
Since apparently the majority of people that play games are about 30 years old, I'm still too young for starfox In all seriousness, you can't never be too old for Nintendo games.
Showtime 1-1
Probably one of the better aspects of the Starfox franchise is the diversity of age it allows. To kids it's just a forward-scrolling shooter with starfighters and talking animals. As you play through the games though, and maybe get involved in the community, you see that there's a much more diverse and immersive universe behind the games. I've always hoped that Nintendo would make a more edgy, mature Starfox game with a more complex plot and less of a "black and white" disparity between "good" and "bad". There is an ability to do that with Starfox which just doesn't exist with other Nintendo franchises (Mario, Kirby, Pokemon, Donkey Kong, etc.). psy_commando
Well I'm quite surprised, I thought I'd see more people wanting to leave this behind as they grow up. But maybe its not age then, maybe its just that you get less and less free time as you get older, well at least until retirement. I'd sure hope you guys would still be around when I'm 40 ! Well they tried to do something less black and white with team plasma in pokémon black and white .
ShutUpNavi
Remember that in the 80s video games were only considered to be glorified kids toys (hence NES commercials that suggested your parents help you hook it up). In the 90s anyone older than a teen wouldn't be caught dead playing video games. Now the average gamer is over 30. With new gaming devices like the Wii and smart phones the gaming demographic can now include just about anyone. Really the only time you should fell you've outgrown Star Fox is if you've grown board of it. Otherwise there is no age limit to a good product.
Ellanie
I'm also 24, and I don't know. I agree with the above that it will just happen when I get bored with it, and when that will be is beyond me. I've actually always had a fascination with "kid" stuff, like on a brony level but for many more things, but it comes down more to me enjoying "tamer" things with creativity, and cleaner humor. (I love shows like Adventure Time for this reason.) Starfox is especially great as it's Nintendo kid-friendly, but has adult characters that open up a whole other world of ideas and scenarios. Yeah, Nintendo still hasn't explored that yet, but it isn't stopping us fans from doing so.
Scourge
Maturing is required, growing up isn't. Fuck acting your age, you'll have more fun if ya don't.
rebel_gunman
Too old for StarFox?!!? Hell, I'll be on my 70s, 80s sitting in a rocking chair in my porch yelling at random people and traffic "DO A BARREL ROLL!!!" while waving my cane at them!

If you think about it, that's sort of the lead generation of gamers who are defining the industry right now. Kids of the 80's, who played mario and sonic and metroid (etc etc) through their childhoods in the 90's, then fueled the movement towards FPSs and sandbox games in the 00's, and now want more realism. I guess fans like us just found something we like along the way and stuck to it.
Mr. Krystal
I'll be tired of Star Fox at 13:35PM on February 31st, or when they release a new Star Fox game every 4 months, whichever comes first.

Oh god, better not be some terrible paradox looming there: Bad omens! Seeing that I'm pretty young, it could be a while. Hopefully the franchise can continue, seeing that Star Fox 64 3D was a money-grab.

Ori
'Too old for Star Fox' is a dramatical and ridiculous way to see the thing. I won't be leaving the forums so soon. We all can do what we must because we can play what we like. In either case, i won't leave the series, either. Star Fox is too good to give up, 'Nuff said. Even if i stop playing the games i won't stop taking Star Fox in consideration. I mean, sometimes a really good game is just AWESOME. In the off chance i quit playing the series, it will be at the same time i can get a unlimited amount of drone workforce and millions at my fingertips, when clocks have 25:45 hours and i have a 1:1 scale and fully functional replica of all the space shuttles and Apollo launchers, all that while having a tea party in the TARDIS with the whole Star Fox team. So... Yeah... I won't leave Star Fox anytime soon.
The Shaper
I don't think you can get "too old" for Star Fox, but I do think that you can get bored of the series. I know I have, at least. With that said, it's not because I am too old. It's because I simply feel no need to play the games or involve myself in the activities.
