The author of this thread is not responsible for the breaking of hearts after promising deep, high hopes if the following information turned out to be inaccurate.

Around last month, it was revealled that Nintendo's official and iconic magazine in the United States - Nintendo Power - is to be shuttered eventually later this year after spreading out issues for the past 24 years. It is known that Future US, the American subsidiary of the British printing house Future Publishing, had been running the magazine for a while. Future Publishing are also responsible for publishing Nintendo's official European magazine Official Nintendo Magazine, and the popular licenced magazine Nintendo Gamer. Apparently it just so happens that it was also recently announced that the Nintendo Gamer magazine will also get shuttered.

Nintendo Gamer recently revealled the cover for their magazine's last issue for October 2012, which features the artwork of Wil Overton. However, that is not the interesting part of the cover which I want to show you. If you look closely at the bottom right corner of this following cover, you will notice some text that might blow away your minds!

Do the editors of Nintendo Gamer know something that we do not? We will probably find out soon enough. This issue will be released primarily in the United Kingdom on September 7, 2012. Wait... is that today's date [as of writing of this thread]? Oh, holy Arwings!

Just did some Googling and over at NeoGAF some members apparently have the issue and there's nothing in it about that stuff. Just teasing apparently.

Hopefully they'll announce some new games at their conference next week!

Where did you see that Icy ? I wasn't able to find any information on the october 2012 issue anywhere, except on the magazine's webpage :S

Wait what conference are we speaking of? I didn't know there was a reason to get my hopes up this soon about Nintendo releasing titles.

Might have to run by the liquor store and get some more 'Fox Tail' beer for some good luck...

Huh, I can't find it anymore either. Google still shows a description of the thread I saw earlier but I cannot find it anywhere on the site anymore.... hm. :c

The fact that this hasn't been yoinked the hell off the internet yet is suggesting that any "Star Fox" discussion in this issue will just be more non-committal "I dunno Star Fox for the WiiU would be neat I guess" from someone at Nintendo.

Ssshhhhhh.....

Don't jinx it!!!!

The way I figure is its really hard to just "yoink" things off the internet once it spreads. But they could obviously just stay hushed about any commitments they could have been making just to keep people on their feet

DZ, Why is it considered the bastard child?

Because Space World was awesome. It was like Nintendo's own E3. The press events they have now are just press conferences.

Not exactly big and major news, but it does apply to the future of Star Fox and I figured it could go here in this thread...but the leader of Platinum Games has said he would like to work on a new Star Fox game. This particular article says some stuff about how he wants his company put at gunpoint to work on it or...whatever that's supposed to mean...but I do have to wonder if his statement sheds light on perhaps there were no real plans underway for a Star Fox game previously? This could be interesting of a direction for Star Fox as I just looked up and found out what else Platinum worked on - Bayonetta...in fact looking a bit at Bayonetta I am actually concerned about them touching Star Fox.

Quite an old article. I'm pretty sure this was posted on SFO back when it was originally reported.

I wouldn't mind Platinum working on Star Fox. It'd probably be a good game.

And since Platinum is doing Bayonetta 2 for WiiU ONLY, kind of partners with Nintendo now, perhaps that means...............

Oh crap...I just saw the date on that one, my bad. I just was flipping through some tumblr posts and ran into something about Platinum wanting to work on a Star Fox and figured it was news.

DISREGARD! :-)

Still, after realizing that Platinum is very much well, uber Japanese action games, I think Star Fox would end up suffering worse than its time in Adventures. To me action games leave a sort of bad taste in my mouth especially in the style of Bayonetta, and especially-especially when it regards Star Fox. They may have a good reputation, but the feeling I get from it is button mashing Devil May Cry...or since it could come after SF: Command, it could be "Fox May Cry, a Lot" :troll:
