Game Pad Stand

Game Pad Charging Cradle

System Stand for vertical setup

Both units allow SDHC Cards and USB Drives for storage expansion. 4 USB ports on-board.

Wii-motes, Nunchucks, and Pro Controllers sold separately.

System Stand and Game Pad Stand and Charging Cradle also sold separately for Basic users.

Nintendo TVii:

Interface with popular streaming services (Netflix, Hulu, Amazon) and TiVO DVRs.

Pricing Trivia: The inclusion of an HDMI cable can be viewed as $30 of the purchase price, unless you use Monoprice or other discount cable retailers as most retailers charge at least that much for the damn things.

Games:

CoD Black Ops 2 was officially announced, but everybody already knew it was coming.

No new significant games announced.

The price, though a tad high, is still competitive. Best Buy is selling Xbox 360s in this price range still, though it is worth noting that these units have HDDs.

I liked how much more is included in the deluxe, until I realized that these things probably should have been in the Basic. But I wasn't planning on the basic anyway.

Nintendo TVii looks badass.

Though, at this point, I am still more impressed by the hardware than the games. C'mon, Nintendo, give me some software to salivate over. Yeah, NSMBU looks cool, and Assassin's Creed will be awesome (Though I'm still not sure about whether or not I want it on PC more), but where are the top-tier 1st party games? I guess Pimkin kind of counts. The game looks damn beautiful, but I am not that much of a Pikmin fan.

Still, I think the WiiU is a badass piece of tech. I'll be picking up a Deluxe ASAP.

* Launch window is defined as the period beginning Nov. 18, 2012, and ending March 31, 2013.

We'll still call it a launch game, even though it is released 4 months later! :troll:

The HDMI isn't as much of a godsend when you realize you can order HDMI cables from Monoprice at 1/10th the costs retailers charge. (6' cable for $5). But still, being able to hook-up in HD immediately is nice.

Goddamn. Monster Hunter AND a pikmin sequel? I almost feel like there's some actually good launch titles here!

(I am a huge nerd)

Question is are they coming out in November, December, January, February, or March? This is the "Launch Window," and is the best date-wise information we've gotten for many of these games.

Though it looks like CoD will be there on launch day. I don't like this game at all, not just because of it being another CoD, but I have a real problem with making the 99% movement the bad guys.

OK, I sat down and went through the games. Here are the Launch Day (Nov 18) games I have found thus far:

Nintendo Land - Duh, pack-in

NSMBU - Mario at launch is always a good thing

CoD - Meh..., but at least it's popular

Transformers Prime - No Opinion

Epic Mickey II - Interesting

Madden 13 - Meh..., but at least it's popular

Mass Effect 3 - Older game better be launch day

Sonic All-Stars Racing- Meh

NBA 2K13 - Meh..., but at least it's popular

Assasin's Creed III - Awesome

Rabbids Land - Could be funny

Rayman Legends - Awesome

Your Shape Fitness Evolved 2013 - Shovelware...

Batman Arkham City - Older game better be at launch

Game Party Champions - Shovelware...

Scribblenauts Unlimited - Meh

At least the quality-to-shovelware ratio is decent. Lets hope it stays that way.

Really? Wow I've never seen an HDMI cable below $50, but I haven't done any online shopping for a long time, so I guess there's that.

Also haha neat absolutely none of those games interest me other than AC3. sob

I bought an HDMI cable for $15 the other day, in a brick and mortor store, even. They are much cheaper as of late, so it really isn't much of a chunk out of their pockets, but it is sweet.

If the basic can take a external hard drive to make up for it's wee little internal 8 gigs, I might lean to actually getting this after all. I already have too many controllers for the wii that I don't need the bigger one for all the extras.

And, why have TiVo? Unless I can purchase my cable tv via the WiiU, what's it for? Recording ingame footage? If yes, that would be pretty sweet.

Tivo because:

1. Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon do NOT have everything.

2. Streamed TV and movies look like crap due to the compression.

3. :yuno: Y U NO HAVE SURROUND SOUND?

4. Cable company DVRs are huge steaming piles of shit. I went through three in as many months before I was all "Fuck it, I'm buying a Tivo." The whole point of having a DVR is to watch recorded shows, not to watch 10 minutes of a show followed by pixelated crap you can't tell what it is, followed by lockup and reboot.

Sonic All-Stars Racing- Meh

I'm actually really looking forward to this game. The WiiU version is supposed to be the best, and I'll probably grab it too. :-)

You should look into it more if you haven't, you might like it if you like Mario Kart.

The first game was great and I really enjoyed it, especially on the Wii, although I'd say the other versions were better, but this sequel is looking really, really, good.

Also, yeah, $300 is good. I'll probably get the $350 version just for whatever. November 18 is great.

Launch games are great.

BAYONETTA 2 WIIU EXCLUSIVE, GUYS.

Looks like some of those "hardcore gamers" have a reason to buy one now. Or rather, hate hate hate and hate on Nintendo and then go and buy a WiiU and enjoy it.

Hi,

just pre ordered the WiiU Premium, although here in Europe it will be released a little bit later than in the States (30th November, 350€). Still I'm quite impressed about the game line up so far. Even if not all of them will be available at release, but as most of them will arrive quite fast after release I'm really happy about that. I mean: Bayonetta 2, Monster Hunter 3, ZombieU and many more... not to bad for the first few months of release. But, although it is great to have so many third party games, I've expected some more of the Nintendo-franchises like StarFox, Mario Kart, Zelda (well, there were rumors about 2014), F-Zero and so on. Nintendo stated, that until launch there will be more game announcements, but somehow I don't expect anything too interesting any more. But we'll see, maybe there will be one or two mind blowing announcements.

Where's Star Fox! Nooooo! At least Majora's Mask isn't there; that was a floating rumour as a launch title. Remakes are really starting to get old.

HHNNNNGGG......Much like the Wii I feel like grabbing the console, just in case. The release titles do sound better, but definitely not a killer lineup. I think the best thing I saw out of the WiiU features was the ability to upgrade memory with flash drives. Holy data hog Batman! Yes! Maybe I missed the memo, but is the WiiU meant to be a media centerpiece not meant to play just video games? I guess I am glad the tablet thingy ships with the console as well - I really wasn't interested in going out and spending the extra money to see how it works.

Dern, Icy beat me to saying Bayonetta 2 is exclusive. Cursed Dark Souls distracting me.

Hi,

interesting facts: Bayonetta 2 will be WiiU exclusive, because otherwise it wouldn't be there anyway. What I've read about that is, that nobody wanted to fund the development but Nintendo. So without Nintendo, there would not be any Bayonetta 2, as it seems nobody else was interested in. I believe the developers would have loved to have it multi platform, but still preferred an exclusive release on WiiU to no release at all.

On the subject of Bayonetta, it's good that Nintendo was willing to step in to save a franchise from going belly up.

But we finally have a date! Begin the countdown people. (Now all we need is for Retro Studios to reveal their project.)

Also. 007 Legends is gonna be on the Wii U. YAY!

Yeah, that's what I heard too, that Sega pretty much dropped it even though they were developing it so Nintendo picked it up.

This also means we might get Bayonetta in Smash Bros.. Would be pretty cool. :)

Anyway, I'm calling it now, Retro Studios is working on Metroid Prime 4. :3

As much as I love Star Fox, these few rumors that have gone around in the past few months about MP4 reminded me of just how good that series is. I hope they're really working on it.

Of course, Star Fox would be awesome too.

Or F-Zero, even.....

Got my reserve from Toys R Us when I happened to be there (hunting ponies). Getting the $350 version.

Also, that GIF is pretty much the best thing I've seen all day.
