unoservix
because every forum needs a football thread so yes have an American football thread! NFL and college and, hell, even high school i guess. make predictions, place bets, bitch about whatever stupid bullshit the replacement refs did this week, talk trash, turn up your nose and be an obnoxious dickhead about how it's not real football, set the aforementioned dickheads on fire for their insolence, and more! here i will start, as of this posting the New York Giants are beating the holy living shit out of the Carolina Panthers, 23-0 at the beginning of the 3rd quarter. that's kind of a disappointment, i guess, because i always hope for upsets unless the upset would require Dallas winning. hell, you could practically make a game out of going to PFT and checking to see who they pick for each game and then seeing how wrong they are about everything. also i really hope i never see a game like Monday's game of Denver at Atlanta ever again. Icy
Oh yes, I am REALLY enjoying the Giants/Panthers game. Big Giants fan here. Poor little Cam Newton, getting beat so bad. 33-7 atm. Also as anyone who knows what my avatar is, I am a huge Bama fan for college football. They are also dominating everyone this year....hm. And might I say, I didn't figure unoservix for a[n] [American] football kinda person. c:

unoservix
i was not an American football kind of person until recently, but i find it pretty fun despite the bullshit that surrounds it. i kinda like how it's relatively competitive compared to my memories of, say, baseball. But they do a good job of hyping it up. Making you feel atachted to teams. It's well done.
Gestalt
I follow the Superbowl...that's my extent of my American football love. I have to watch the Superbowl, but i either don't have the time or just don't care to watch the entire season. All my brothers love the crap outta that stuff though. russiandog38
@ unoservix- agreed, the Denver game was pitiful, well at least until the end. But hey at least we beat the Steelers. And theres always next week.
jesseboyd7
Became a Packers fan since Superbowl XXXI when they won over the Patriots! I remember watching football all the time in my middle & high school years, not that much these last few years after my tech school. I still watch games from time to time. Then all of a sudden my family just got Directv! And can watch Packers games later on anytime hehe! Aaron Rogers could be the next Farve guy in the long run or else? Icy
^No no no, Eli Manning is best NFL QB. :3 But I do think Aaron Rodgers is a darn good quarterback, definitely.
unoservix
i hope Aaron Rodgers doesn't become the next Favre. i'd hate to see him turn into a ridiculous laughingstock texting pictures of his penis to female reporters.
DZComposer
My alma mater, Texas State University, got accepted in to FBS ball this year. Won the first game against Houston, but Texas Tech steamrolled us 58-10 . We're playing an old FCS conference rival tomorrow, hopefully that game will go much better.
DZComposer
I have come to the conclusion tonight that our (TXST) defense sucks after watching what was shaping up to be an easy win turned into a nail-biter. They held in the end, and a win is a win, but 41-37 is just too close. Opponent was Stephen F Austin State. It's going to be a terrible season at this rate, unless the defensive coordinator can perform some kind of miracle fix-it job.

DZComposer
Looks like the Packers/Seahawks fuckup has broken the stalemate. Looks like the real refs may coming back very soon: http://espn.go.com/n...als-end-lockout The headline is premature, the NFLRA still has to formally accept the deal, which won't happen until this weekend. The reason for the whole thing was the NFL tried to screw the refs out of their pensions. Let's not forget that. Refs don't make millions of dollars like the players do. They need those pensions. unoservix
i get the feeling i'm gonna be feeling mighty sorry for the Saints this weekend. they've been karma's whipping boy this season so far and the Packers will want to beat the shit out of somebody over what happened on Monday.
