TXST has a game today, VS Nevada. I need to decide whether or not to go within the next 30 minutes.

I did buy the ticket, but the game is at a weird early time, the weather looks like it will be crap, and I'm pretty sure we're going to lose bad...

So I did go. Got wet. We actually had them until the end of the 2nd quarter, when our defense failed. Going down 21-34 isn't as bad as I feared, though. But still, if our defense didn't suck we would have won that shit.

Still, I'm not bummed. Nevada is rated higher than Texas Tech, and Tech steamrolled us. The fact we held our own shows there is something there, sloppy as it may be.

Okay, So I really only watch the superbowl, but I heard the Seahawks/Packers game had some seriously shitty calls. Anyone want to fill me in?

the most egregious was at the end. with the Seahawks down 12-7, Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson threw a Hail Mary pass as time expired; a bunch of Seahawks and Packers players in the endzone grabbed for it. Packers receiver MD Jennings caught it, although Seahawks receiver Golden Tate had his hands on it too, and they both hit the turf. in the course of it all, the officials ignored a blatant pass interference by Tate (although as i understand it, on Hail Mary throws like this the officials usually don't bother calling pass interference anyways). one official called it an interception, which would have ended the game in the Packers' favor; the other called it a touchdown, which would have ended the game in the Seahawks' favor. after review upstairs, they upheld the second call. after that, the Packers just walked off the field and it took ten minutes to get them to send some guys out so the Seahawks could kick for the extra point and end the game.

there were a lot of other questionable calls that i can't really recall clearly right now, but that last one was ultimately the one that forced Goodell to the table.

hahahahahahaha Tony Romo

my favorite was the pick/fumble/whatever you want to call it that came literally right after Chicago turned the ball over, like, the very next play. it was laffo.

Georgia knocked off Florida. FSU beat Duke, and Syracuse came back to win.

Yeah, I have no idea what happened to Florida. I guess they were just kinda overrated. Was really hoping Bama would play them in the SEC Championship. Every SECCG we've been to has been against Florida, lol.

Georgia would be cool though.

Anyway, yesterday (#1) Bama beat #11 Mississippi State.... 38-7. :D

I hope there is no doubt now who is indeed the best team right now. If there is they will crush that doubt next week. :P

so Miami ate the Jets alive, Atlanta broke Philadelphia over its knee, the Browns managed to knock off San Diego, Detroit and Chicago pulled out wins, and Dallas once again tastes the bitter swill of defeat

all in all a pretty good day for me

AMAZING GAME TONIGHT. I've never actually given up before but I was 99% closer than I've ever been tonight. Then AJ tosses a pass to TJ and he's gone with 51 seconds left.

Still, LSU outplayed Bama on offense tonight, gotta admit. They got their act together during their bye week.

I'm happy. 9-0, snaps LSU's 22 game home win streak. Beat them in their own stadium at night with probably the loudest crowd I've ever heard on the radio... proud of that team.

Roll Tide.

THREAD REBORN AHAHAHAHAHA

watching the Hall of Fame Game, which is kind of crappy, but the Cowboys ought to be really freakin' pleased with their rookie running backs so far.

So I watched a documentary on RGIII and his knees and shit.  It was actually pretty good, kept me interested throughout it, he explained his values and stuff, and they talked with his family and he talked about his childhood.

It's funny, I don't pay much attention to football til later on in the season, but I was pretty interested to hear what he had to say.

RG3's knee sounds like it should be the subject of a horror film, like Saw or The Thing or something

anyways lol Johnny Manziel (i guess we have to talk about him) that pasty bastard gets suspended for half a game. half a game! Reggie Bush gave up his Heisman, they tore Cam Newton apart for stuff his dad did, and yet the Justin Bieber of college football gets suspended for half of a boring game against a two-bit opponent.

i am in a vortex somewhere between laughing and crying.

so UCLA destroyed Nevada last night, 58-20. that's encouraging.

i'll feel better if they can go do that in two weeks to Nebraska, though. this year they have to play Stanford and Oregon back to back on the road, and there's no way they're going to take both those games, but one might be within reach.

i love how once again an NFC West team hangs a win on Aaron Rodgers and the Packers thanks to an officiating blooper

well that was a satisfying win.

UCLA flew halfway across the country to Nebraska for a noon kickoff, dug themselves into a 21-3 hole, and then hung 38 unanswered points on the Cornhuskers for a nice convincing 41-21 blowout, all in the wake of one of their walk-ons being killed in a car accident last weekend.

you still cannot convince me that we're going to win either of those games against Stanford and Oregon, though.

also lawl that i am the only one left in this thread

well, it was disappointing if you expected strong defensive football

but if you expected Alabama vs Texas A&M to be a defensive struggle then you have the brain slugs anyways
