To start everything off, I'll post up Robert and Jami's as examples. Do know that as DM characters, they're overpowered on purpose.

Description: Tall, muscled, well built. Has bronzed fur with tufts of blonde hair and eye splotches, and around his maw, giving the allusion of a well groomed beard.

Specialization: Captain of the M.S.S., Lead Researcher of the Saurian Project (Biology)

Background: Born on Katina, Robert spent much of his youth in the open outback near the Cornerian military bases, learning to shoot and fend for himself. An orphan, he was raised by the entire unit at the local base, making them something of an extended family to him. As a young adult, he got into sciences, and obtained several degrees in various studies, proving himself to be quite the Renaissance man. During the Lylat War against Andross, Robert saved many lives with his innovations in medical science, drastically reducing casualties on both sides of the conflict. Now in peacetime, he works freelance on General Pepper's personal payroll, and with the discovery of Sauria, has established the private research space station with his family.

Skillset: Expert in several fields of scientific study, particularly chemistry, biology, and engineering. Designer of a multitude of devices, expert on Saurian organisms. Accomplished gunslinger and crackshot, prefers pistols.

Specialization: First Lady of the M.S.S., Head Researcher of the Saurian Project (Sociology)

Background: The youngest daughter of a wealthy Cornerian merchant family, Jami went out on her own as a young teenager to satiate her taste for adventure, despite her family's wishes to the contrary. Having a gifted and well educated upbringing, Jami set out to learn of other cultures and people first hand. As she entered young adulthood, her latent psychic powers manifested itself, and with her rarity of a gift, she use it to bring people closer together in times of hardship. Now with the Lylat War long over and the discovery of Sauria, she's once more been allured to the scene of adventure, and in the study up before the order to intervene was given, has compounded a significant amount of information on dinosaur language and culture.

Skillset: Jami is a developed psychic and cultured humanitarian, being very well educated in various cultures and how to adjust to them. She's also an accomplished linguist, and one of the few alien speakers of Saurian language.

Background: Keaton Thorn was born on Katina to a wolf father and coyote mother beyond either the 'oasis cities' or the military bases that surround the dotted pockets of lakes or lodes of valuable resources around the harsh, arid wastelands of the planet. Keaton lived mostly in poverty and made a living in her teenaged years doing jobs of both the legal and illegal sort. She put most of her money and her gift towards advanced engineering into making her own fighter craft (named Thunderbolt) and making her way into the mercenary line of work after years of collecting materials and hand-building her ship from the ground up. However, one of her earlier missions out Keaton was shot down in an engagement and she crashed her ship out in one of the barren deserts of Katina, far from help. After a week in the desert, her current employer, Gene Inari, another mercenary, found her. Keaton agreed to work for him in exchange for the rescue and the repairs and restoration of her ship. On her first mission out with Gene, she discovered that he had many, significant, prostheses and was horrified what the line of work did to him. Working with Gene for a period of time, Keaton sought a way to improve herself beyond her normal limitations without resorting to cybernetics, which developed into a phobia. The one option was bio-enhancement, which she quickly sought after. Keaton acquired these enhancements by staging a raid single-handedly on a research station with ties to Andross' 'empire', stealing massive amounts of illegal research data, and then holding it ransom to the ones that it belonged to for the procedures and chemical enhancements to be done. Each enhancement, either surgical or chemical, alone carried significant risk. Despite the high chances of failure due to surgical complications, cross-chemical complication, and psychological stress, Keaton made it through the months of procedures and chemical regiments. However, with such drastic changes, a months to years long rehabilitation period was needed. It has only been several months since then.

Skillsets: Keaton's experimental, military-grade bio-enhancements give her outright extraordinary strength and endurance without the usual limitations of cybernetics or other, less dangerous, bio-enhancements. However, she is still not entirely acclimated to the enhancements and is suffering from various side effects left over from the procedures. Keaton has a penchant for close-quarters engagements, owning considerable skills with shotguns with the added expertise of crafting her own shells. Keaton is also very intelligent albeit very informally with a reckless approach to her methods. Also Keaton is a gifted engineer, both in the design and maintenance of spacecraft, along with other practical disciplines. Her early life on the streets in middle of a desert planet and on the run from authority taught her many vital survival skills—put to the test in her week stranded in the desert. Her mental determination and augmented physical endurance have been noted to allow her to continue to function in high stress situations that others otherwise could not.

Backround: An aristocratic looking Turtle who refuses to believe that his bones are made of anything less than two napkins and a bag of chips. He comes from a long line of Brittlesworth bodyguards, all of whom fall victim to the fact that their bones are made of sandpaper. He has been (painfully) raised for glorious combat, serving the government with as much weight as his brittle bones disease allows.

Homeworld: Hatched on a cruise liner, Raised on Corneria.

Description: Tall, skinny, has a rather average build. Orange scales with green stripes. Wears a thin hooded sweatshirt and jeans.

Background: His biologic parents killed by pirates (Or an asteroid, maybe both), Manthony was adopted and raised by a Cat/Dog couple, who were both enlisted in the CDF. He enlisted at an early age due to this, and served via infiltrating enemy bases and relaying information to the CDF. In the years since, he's gone solo, acting as a spy for hire/assassin, though nearly all of his contracts have come from the CDF.

Skillsets: Excellent Marksman, though not one for talking. Great at sneaking about.

Appearance: All black fur color, with white scar going down left cheek. When on duty he wears a black Cornarian SWAT uniform which bares a cross on the upper left sleeve.

Personality: Very religous. He prays before and after every mission and before every kill. He is also very quite. He wont talk unless it is important or it pertains to the mission. But if talked to he will give short simple answers.

Backround: Ryan started off as a regular sniper for the Cornerian Police Department. He was good at what he did and eventualy was able to upgrade to SWAT. He was put on SWAT team 6 led by Eli Holender where he acts as the teams sniper and infiltrator.

Equipment: SWAT sniper rifle, combat knife. Ryan also has a tactics headset and visor. This headset was made to help target enemys, show weak points in armor, and highlight special objectives and structures. It can also pick up movments and sound that normal scenses could not.

Skill Sets: With the headset and visor, he has good perception and knows what goes on around him. Being a feline, he naturaly has good reflexes and is sneaky. He can usually get past people without them ever knowing he was there.

I'll pitch in, mind you the name Hidi is not that of an animal character. I don't identify myself as a furry.

Homeworld: A faraway system, now living on Corneria.

Description: Cream fur, with fire-red hair on the top of her head and a red tail. Wears typical Star Fox-style flight gear, but she despises skimpy dress. She appears nervous a lot, but tries to reassure everyone she's fine.

Background:

Ea was born on a lush planet far away in another planetary system altogether. She lived with her parents until around the age of 13 or 14. Wanting to escape the overprotective life she had with her parents, she left them to live on her own. She lived in a small room while she trained as a cadet in her homeworld. A year or so after living alone, she was given the offer to leave her homeworld. She took up the offer to leave, even though it was against one of her parent's requests to her when she left them. In Corneria, she trained for a while in the CDF and learned to fly. Almost year in, she was in a near-fatal flight accident. This left her crippled for what doctors thought would be forever, but she recovered as fast as she could, though the process was long and painful. She now is completing her training as a scout and is being considered for deployment to explore the new world of Sauria.

Skillsets:

Adventurer, but very cautious because of her injuries while training. She is an intraverted person, so she doesn't talk a lot, but will if she has interest. She has never been exposed to magic before, as the discovery of Sauria is very new and she didn't come from a planet of such lores. She has a keen eye and an open mind, which she works tirelessly when on the job. She is working with other CDF members on the Sauria discovery, with the potential to be deployed along side a few of them. (She has a partner, but only going to be added if Breeze chooses to participate)

Melee Weapons - She doesn't have a ton of practice with melee weapons, but as a Scout, she keeps an axe in her survival kit (When flying), and a pocket knife at all times. She could fight with her knife if she had to, but her skills are basic.

Handguns - Has good aim, but is not good with gun combat.

Rifles - Very good with long-range weapons, and prefers to use them.

Shotguns -Nah.

Academics - She is very smart and has good all-around knowledge. Her specialties are physical geography, and Language. She is also a trained cadet and pilot.

Technology - She is a computer geek and a skilled pilot. She is very fast to pick up on new technologies and uses them to her advantage.

Intrusion - As a Scout, she has good stealth and agility but is not legendary at it.

Savior-Faire - Will get along with some, but she is very shy. She has a lot of trouble making a good lie, and rarely gets away with it. She is also very much obligated not to lie and stick to good morals. She is bound to codes of ethics to get her by.

Survival - As a trained Scout and Cadet, her survival skills are indispensable, but she would be lucky to an extent to survive, as she has already had a near-death experience.

Name: Amelia Alaer Cimmaron

Place of Origin: Oceannis, Aquas

Age: 27

Profession: Photographer, Geologist, Blogger

Race: Father is a Coyote. Her mother is bi-species; Red Fox and Grey Wolf.

Sex: Female

Height: 5ft, 4in

Weight: 146lbs

Appearance: According to the Body Mass Index, she’s slightly overweight, but nowhere near the point where it’s unhealthy or anything like that. Her original color pallet is similar to that of a red fox, but she gets a bleach and dye job done periodically to keep a “vanilla ice-cream†color. Hair goes down to her upper back; originally straight, but styled to be wavy. Ice-blue eyes. Sometimes wears horn-rimmed glasses which she humorously refers to as her "eyes".

Clothing: Because of her creative and stylistic background, Amelia is a bit of a self-professed fashionista and fashion victim.

For the Saurian excursion, she’ll be doing a light beige camisole with a dark denim mini-skirt. For an “outdoorsy/lumberjack†chic, she’ll throw on a plaid Flanagan, unbuttoned, with the sleeves rolled up to the elbows. But there are two coupe de grâces : the shoes and the bag. For the shoes, she’s doing a pair of $1,600 hiking boots propped up on 6-inch heels with a 1-inch platform, in grey suede with traction soles (courtesy of Alaïa Azzedine design house). Yes people; high-heeled hiking boots. It’s a contradiction of terms, right? And for the bag, it’s a $1,800 backpack by Louis Vuitton. It’s Brown, leather, and sports the signature “LV†monogram/print. Of course, she could have gotten something from the local Wal-Mart for 1-10% of the price.

History: Amelia was born in the city of Oceannis, Aquas towards the end of her father’s final military tour. By the time she was a year old, her father had finished his military career, and moved to the Crystal Court Township (an upper-market housing project on the fringe of Corneria City) to raise his family. There, Amelia’s mother became a real estate agent, and her father became a police officer.

Towards her second year at New Horizons High School of the Arts, a classmate and an acquaintance was the victim of a violent sexual assault while walking to her car after attending a party. The police chief at the time made a public statement about the young woman’s choice in clothing and how that incited the assault. Both displeased and inspired by the statement, Amelia collaborated with a group of friends/classmates and her father (who taught her Krav Maga after the attack, which she still practices to date) for a final class project called “Get Back! Stay Back! High Fashion Self Defenseâ€. It was a film and photography project that consisted of a series of short films/demonstrations of Krav Maga techniques while wearing not-so-conservative articles of clothing, such as high heels, pencil skirts, and other articles of clothing that may otherwise make actual fighting or simply fleeing ineffectual. Not only did the students receive extra credit in their respective classes for the project, the series was featured in the news media succeeding the closure of the rape case, as well as inspire several fashion and lifestyle magazines post articles and launch capaings for high fashion+self-defense, and being integrated into the Krav Maga women’s self defense curriculum. Amelia and the other collaborators were interviewed by Mod3 Magazine and Corneria Cosmo, and were each paid a lump sum of cash by The Krav Maga Association of Self Defense for use of their material.

Alicia graduated early, only a few months before her seventeenth birthday, and then entered a two-year program at Valencia Community College, getting an Associates Degree in Fine Art, and minoring in Photography and Cinematography. Originally, she was had planned to continue her education at The Institute of Creative Studies and do something that reflected fashion. However, she decided to travel, (video-)blogging about her adventures. Traveling all over Corneria and around the Lylat System to first-handedly experience other people and their ways of life, and witnessing vastly different climates and landscapes, she was inspired and decided to study geology. Sciences have always been something Amelia had been interested in, which is why she became an undergraduate at Silverstone University. There, she majored in the Geo-Planetary Sciences academic program and minored in Cultural Studies.

Recently, Amelia had taken up freelance photography as a profession in conjunction with being a scientist. While much of her dossier deals with landscape and wildlife photography, she has also done portrait/wedding photography, and (of course) fashion photography. She plans further studying to become a photojournalist.

At current, the physical state of the planet Sauria has been all over the media, especially since it’s destruction could cause serious damage to the equilibrium of the Lylat System. The fact that the planet is simply crumbling apart the way it is defies physics and goes against geological and planetary sciences. Seeing as how the state of the planet makes being on it dangerous, and the fact that the citizens are going through a civil war, Amelia was the first of a few scientists willing to make history by putting themselves in the danger zone.

Personality: When she was in high school, her psychologist gave her an IQ test, which she scored a 170 on. Another specialist diagnosed her with Attention Deficit Disorder. Though the combination of those two things has been a source of creativity and brilliance for her, she would be bouncing off the walls and her conversations flying a million miles an hour. She could very well be schizophrenic, but her taking regular medicaments slow her thoughts down and bring her back into our universe.

In any case, Amelia has a rather lively and gregarious; a social butterfly of sorts. She tends to be quite talkative and random sometimes. Though the aforementioned can be arguably entertaining, it can cause her to appear airheaded and ditzy until she divulges a surprising “Aha!†moment of information.

She is also a very curious and questioning person, and is not afraid to ask questions if she wants to know something. The way she asks also follows her theme of “arbitrary pretense of ineptitudeâ€, in that the content of the question on it’s own (with the thought behind it being a non-factor) may have nothing to do with the current conversation or state of affairs. It’s only when one has the patience and/or understanding to see that there’s a method to her madness.

And on the subject of her “arbitrary pretense of ineptitudeâ€, it is a way for her to bridge the gap between knowledge/understanding and ignorance/misinterpretation, be it within herself or when talking to another person. In that regard, she’ll use a lot of popular and mainstream culture references when talking, no matter what she’s talking about, since they are things most people are familiar with.

Although Amelia is very well spoken and makes an effort to be tasteful, she can be very ostentatious and overly opinionated. If she feels that there is an issue that needs to be spoken on, be sure that she’s going to open her mouth about it. Sometimes, she might say something that shouldn’t be said.

Amelia can be overelaborate, bourgeois, and self-indulgent. This is evidenced by the fact that she bought a Louis Vuitton bag for the trip for nearly $2,000, and how the expensive Alaïa hiking boots she bought are just an excuse to wear high heels. And don’t put it past her to be wearing makeup despite the admittedly disadvantageous conditions.

Skillsets: Amelia has a Batchelor’s Degree in Geo-Planetary Sciences, which is to say that she is knowledgeable in the broad number of subjects they encompass: geology, physical geography, geophysics, soil science, oceanography, and atmospheric sciences. She also has general knowledge concerning biology, biochemistry, physics, and mathematics. She’s traveled a lot and minored in cultural studies at Silverstone University, so she’s decent at understanding other cultures and ways of life. She’s been practicing self-defense since high school, but it’s distinct from actual fighting, in that Krav Maga is more about “stun and runâ€. Also, she's fluent in four languages, to include Saurian.

Rifles - Skillful use at military grade medium-long range weapons. Requires 5 Perception and 5 Agility. (Sniping - Allows for skillful use of long range, high precision rifles. Requires 7 Perception.)

Shotguns - Skillful use at medium range riot guns. Requires 5 Strength. (Shotgun Surgeon - The shotgun user can carry a variety of customized special slugs)

Academics - The character is generally knowledgeable in academic fields such as math and science. Requires 6 Intelligence. (Mastery - The character is exceedingly knowledgeable in a single subject of your choice, eg medicine, astronomy, geology, etc. Requires 7 Intelligence. This skill can be taken several times for multiple degrees.)

Technology - The character is generally knowledgeable in practical engineering and machinery. Requires 6 Intelligence. (Repair/Destroy - The character can repair or rebuild any broken technology they find, as well as break down any functional technology. Requires 5 Agility.)

Intrusion - The character is skilled in sneaking around unseen and unheard, and performing actions while doing so, as well as breaking and entering. Requires 6 Perception and 6 Agility.

Savior-Faire - The character is adept at picking up and learning new cultures and using that information to their advantage. Requires 5 Charisma, and improves with every additional point. (Persuasion - The character is skilled at convincing or coercing others their point of view. Requires 6 Charisma.) (Gambling - The character is good at bluffing, lying, and tricking others. Requires 6 Charisma.)

Survival - The character is adept at enduring harsh environments, treating basic wounds, and surviving tough conditions. Requires 5 Strength, 5 Intelligence, and 5 Willpower. (Adrenaline Rush - When a character is KO'd, they are allowed to recover themselves ONCE an episode through sheer determination. Requires 6 Strength AND 6 Willpower.)

Home-world: Small Village, Fortuna

Description: A mouse, light brown hair, silky, no discoloration throughout the fur coat. A hard and serious face but handsome. Chestnut eyes, Well built, and muscular for a mouse. Not “huge†, however. Wears tunics, or military cameo.

Background: Young during the great war, he was forced to learn the survival game fast. He lived in the wild, while his village was occupied by Andross’s ravagers. He returned home only to find that his family hadn't survived to see his return, and shortly after a traditional funeral he left. He stow away on transport ships, higher-ed himself to merchants, and upon reaching his his 20th birth day he quit life as a roaming sell sword. Since then he has been a traveler. Living a life in the wild, he has been forged in the “hottest fireâ€. Looking for new lands to test himself by, he has earned a reputation as a quite the boy scout. Hearing of the recently discovered Sauria he packed up his bags determined to get himself there . He wasn't happy to be working for a Cornerian, he secretly held them responsible for his family's demise, but he was willing to put that aside for the prospect of a new planet! The idea something out there lay unexplored, unknown drove him mad, crazy even. At his side at all times he carries a saber he inherited from this father a tool proving most useful in self defense and for making paths in jungle environments.

Skill-sets: An out doors-man, he is a real explorer. While his smaller size may render him not as physically as impressive, he makes up for it with his agility. He moves like a squirrel in'a tree, with strong joints and amazing balance honed to finite point not only from years of practice, but through the works of evolution.Able to clime trees to their tops, and dare incredible feats. He runs quickly and fits in spaces that many beasts would find to small to navigate through. He is well versed in wild life survival, exploration, tracking, mapping, and scouting. He is well versed in most languages used in the laylat system, and is loyal will his trust may be a little hard to earn at first, he is deadly loyal to any who have it.

AJC, I see you have a stat of -9- in your goddamn agility. Please refer to this:

7- The limits of human ability on its own account. This is the guy with college degrees, or climbs mountains for fun.

Growing into adulthood, he eventually found and became associated with local gangs where he learned martial arts and slowly crept deeper into the underworld of organized crime. Never missing a chance to take on a new challenge, Freyr also often found himself competing in the arena against the stationed Cornerian forces whom he had grown to hate. Local interplanetary pirates who often attended these arenas noticed Freyr’s combat proficiency and offered him a chance to leave Titania and carve out a piece of the galaxy for himself. His life of crime, though more glamorous, left a bitter taste in Freyr's mouth. He disliked the tactics and goals of his superiors who often put his team in extraordinary danger for little accomplishment. Freyr took every opportunity to try and defame and subvert his superiors – opportunities that soured their opinions of Freyr quickly. Despite his differences with superiors, Freyr became an integral part of a special operations team that focused on stealing advanced weapons research from the Cornerian and Venomian Remnant – using the best and selling the rest. Among the research that was stolen was some extremely rare genetic protein synthesizers that he had managed to make of with and apply to himself to get a better edge in his martial arts skills. After several years of dwelling in the criminal underworld, his luck ran out when his team was commanded to carry out a raid on a heavily secured weapons research center – a suicide mission that left much of Freyr's team dead and him responsible for the failure.

Unfortunately for Freyr, failure was hardly tolerated by his superiors who proceeded in making him a marked man, forcing him to flee from his life of crime and the lawless outskirts of the galaxy to settle in Corneria. Having no history, professional skills, or education, Freyr took up an apprenticeship working in mechanics slowly building up a life of normalcy and stability that he had never had the chance to experience before. Freyr now enjoys a quiet life in the lower-middle class of Cornerian society as a simple citizen – with a slight taste for rebellions and individualistic attitude.

Nanite protein synthesizers can also be used to repair tissue damage inflicted in combat. Not capable of quickly repairing bone damage, but Freyr's time spent in hand to hand combat training has resulted in higher bone density which allows him to resist damage that would otherwise break bones.

Freyr must have a large supply of food for the protein synthesizers to work, otherwise his muscles could experience faster than normal atrophic decay.

I must be retarted or somthing but just don't get it. A squirrel's abilty is the same as HUMAN ability. The most agile human in the world can't move like the most retarted squirrel can. There for a squirel would be over 7, but if you mean not just human ability but the max of natrual ability pertaining the each specific species then i have to do 7 becuase that only makes sense, but at the same time contidict its self becuase if my mouse was the strongest mous in the world and i gave him a 7 he might apear as stong as the strongest mamoth in the world. Thats not true at all. But then how does my character represent is self as more agile then any other that would also put 7 as there agility stat. I'm sorry your stat expliantions don't seem specfic enough. OR maybe i am just retarted. I will change my stats for the time to acomidate what your telling me, but still....

Because of that thought, you're having problems. In this RP, species is pretty much just cosmetic in nature. On a scale of anthropomorphism, you're thinking a few too many pegs off to the animal side. Anthros, as far as SF lore goes, is a human through-and-through with a few animal bits tacked on. If I were to look between two wildly different species, they'd still both he human in proportions and build, except for the small details that distinguish between species.

You don't have to assign points "because that make sense" because each species is equally capable of the same limits regardless of species.

Basically you're overthinking the problem.

The stat of 5 is a universal constant. A 5 is average for whatever race you might be, it doesn't change. "Human" in this case is a byword for the norm.

Furthermore, you have a strength stat of 3. That means your squirrel is somehow agile enough to dodge BULLETS (thats what a 9 implies.) but doesn't have the physical strength to actually pull those feats off. Strength is more than burl and brawn, it's also physical health and stamina.

He is a Soulsmith, a type of psychic warrior with rather weak mental abilities ( like very weak telepathy that sounds like static or psychokinesis that can only move stuff that he could at normal strength.) Skillsets:Natually well spoken, as long as he's conversing in his normal language(he's usless in negotiations without a translator. Natually gifted with puzzles and very proficient with melee weapons of multiple types. Fairly perceptive, though it's usually smothered by his childish nature.

Character flaw notes: has a very big appetite, and is very inept at operating transport machinery ( Do NOT let him drive or fly... if it's not a pair of skates or a hoverboard, he WILL crash it! He's perfectly fine in a gunner seat though...)
