Is anyone here old enough to remember the whole Monica Lewinsky thing?

I kind of wonder what would have happend if when he was asked about it Clinton told the truth. He could not have been impeached if he had done that, but what else would have happened?

I for one believe if he had come clean, ( and avoided the fallout) or never had it to begin with, Al Gore would have been president. (Sigh) if only.....

I believe the moral outrage surrounding the Lewinski thing was largely an interest group campaign, not something most people were concerned with. The ol' Clint sure lost some points out of the debacle but it did not seem like something most people were truly worried about, just something certain people thought we -ought- to be worried about.

It wasn't very professional to have his bat shined in the oval office or wherever it was, but really. If statesmen were thrown out of office due to their debauchery, Washington would be burning by now.

Your right about it being an interest group campaign. It was republicans looking for any excuse to savage and attack clinton. It was terribly hypocritical ( at least the faux moral outrage) since half the republicans calling for his removal were unrepentent adulterers themselves.

Heres my quesiton. The only reason Bubba got in real trouble was because he lied about Monica Blewinsky to a federal judge. If he had told the truth about Monica right away when asked,do you think there would have been much fall out?

Clint may have not lost many points, but it was bad enough (apparently) to make Al Gore forbid him from campaigning in a number of southern states, (like Arkansas)

Bill is one of the most talented politicians of recent times. If he had barnstumped and charmed enough for Gore, I am certain we would never have had W, and Florida would have been a non issue. What do you think
