Hidi Posted October 30, 2012 Share Posted October 30, 2012 I don't have a good internet connection right now, but I thought I'd ask; Anyone affected by the recent hurricane/storm Sandy? Well it hit us in Toronto yesterday, and we were asked to leave our school building, so as we stood outside, we all got soaked. That was my first encounter. Later, (Around 1 AM) the wind was really picking up. There is a tree outside my bedroom, and I could see it swaying. The wind was very strong up, and then I saw the tree give way, and it fell. Fortunately, it landed across the road and did minimal damage. The other side, where the tree is very close to the house, it would have destroyed half the house. There was still broken windows and branches everywhere, but thankfully nobody was hurt and nothing other than minor things were damaged. I got some pictures on my busted camera, but they're not very good as I was taking them "Blind". My camera has a busted screen so you can't see what you're doing. Share your stories and pics! CrypticQuery Posted October 30, 2012 Share Posted October 30, 2012 Glad you're doing alright; NYC got hammered pretty badly as I'm sure you've ascertained by now. Thankfully I am fairly far inland in Queens and at a decent elevation; a few trees went down but power loss was not an issue and flooding was only minor. I heard that the storm was bad and decided to check SF-O, because I knew some of you are from there. I wish everyone well and hope that all of you are safe.
