russiandog38
"Oh lay off it lizard" Ryan said as he turned the corner into the isle. "obvioulsy we we're all picked to be on this team for a reason."
Naza Sutera
"'Sweetcakes', huh?" Amelia crossed her arms, shifting her weight onto her left leg. She looked into her camera which was sitting on the shelf recording the whole scene, then indignantly looked Manthony from head to toe very much in the same way he did her. He was really starting to do the most. And to think she was beginning to get over that joke. ...Who the fuck told him that he was the new sheriff in town? She could have paid him the dramatics. She could have given him theatre--she could have given him EXACTLY what the he was looking for. That joke was strike one. This slick move he just pulled was strike two. On strike three? She will be speaking on the issue. He's giving her the most right now. But she'll apply what the bible guy just said and give this asshole the least for the time being. Deciding that she no longer wanted to look at Manthony's cracked mug, she turned around to Eurydice and asked, "Would you mind helping me find some ammo for this thing?" Fedora
Eurydice walked to Amelia and put a hand on her back joining in on dressing down Manthony. "I think you're over thinking the war aspect here. We're here to see why Sauria is splitting into chunks. The civil war is just an extra. We're here to save the planet, not blow it up. Also, you seem to have forgotten in your fantasy that we're meant to be fighting the war that Amelia is a non-combatant. She does this thing called thinking the rest of us here have trouble doing." Eurydice turned to Amelia, "Don't worry about fighting or having to (here she puts on her best fake commando accent) pull the trigger when the time comes, girlie. There already plenty of muscle on the team for that. We need you to actually complete the reason why we're here. Now then, what kinda ammo did this thing take? Shouldn't take too long to find." Renardfrost
Renard decided to make himself apparent after all, appearing at the fringes of the group, leaning against a shelf with his arms crossed. The lizard hadn't spoke to him directly, but something about his nature when it came to battle irked him, but he could see what he's was trying to say... but there was, as he was learning, a right and wrong way to say something. But he'd figure he'd address the things in the order that bugged him. " You," he said simply, his eyes settling on Manthony. " With the golden psynergy. "There is more to This mission than some war, and we are certainly not participating in it unless we absolutely have to. If, you want to rush into the middle of a crowded battlefield where everyone is not on your side, then by all means do it.. the rest of us capable of fighting will be performing our actual purpose in this mission: Guarding those who cannot fight, The Scientists and diplomats with our lives." His voice was stark, professional, cold. "And Amelia.." he continued, shifting his focused gaze to her. "As leadheaded as he is, I'm sure that the reptile is only expressing concern for you in the event of dire emergency. In the event that we cannot protect you or any of the other non-combatants, you and the others must be at least capable of defending yourselves from the local wildlife as well as from the soldiers. After all... we have very little idea what's down there." his ears dipped a little, then came back up. he wasn't sure how this advice would take, since he could feel the tension.. and tension in an armory is never a good thing. manthony_Higgs
"If you folks can't see the connection between the war and the planet splitting, then gee, maybe I'm smarter than I think I am? And even on the off chance that they're not, there's still goin' to be one faction down there that won't take too kindly to us. Now, I'll gladly risk myself for you all. I just want to make sure she'll do the same, that she'll be able to save me if I'm pinned and she's the only one around. But hey, maybe I'm overstepping my bounds here." Manthony headed back towards the entrance.
Thu'um
Axle had been waiting by the entrance for the others to exit. After seeing the whole thing a large grin was wiped across him face. " If you ladies are goin'en to fight over matters as simple as that then i'm sure we'll just be having a picknick on the the planet!." He couldn't put his fingure on why but Axle enjoyed conflict, especially if it was senseless.
Naza Sutera
What the hell would the civil war have to do with the planet crumbling? Amelia though, still harboring some skepticism. Turning to Stargazer, she said, "Thank you, I really appreciate that." "And you..." she turned back to Manthony. She decided to let him know where it's at, though she made an effort to be classy and tasteful about it. Best to say something now, because it wouldn't be cute to curse him out in front of everyone and their mom. "...I may not be anyone's Alice from Resident Evil, but if that was your concern, then that's all you had to say. YES, I will do what I can to protect everyone else in a serious situation. All of this extra stuff about sweetcakes, twinkies, fashion shows, and whatever else--you need to check that at the door if we're going to get along. Secondly, the part about you 'overstepping your bounds' is the way you came at me. Not at all did I appreciate your tone. I didn't do anything to you, I've barely said anything to you, I'm not your child, so you need to come CORRECT when you address me. Do we understand eachother?" Milkyway64
The colonel watched this unfold, growing a scowl across his beaked face. "Children. Get along. The rest of us weren't sent on this mission to babysit." He then looked at Amelia more directly. "And that goes double for you, stop acting like a clown. And put the camera away, while you're at it." Naza Sutera
She rolled her eyes and said sarcastically responded, "Yes, ma'am..." though she knew perfectly well that Florence is a man. For a woman who was almost thirty, she wasn't the most mature sometimes. Returning to her camera, she picked it up off the shelf to close out the video. She put on a caricature of a seductive female announcer voice and said, "...And that concludes this episode of The Loved and The Loveless. Tune in next week, and we will find out if Jeannette is really pregnant from her long-lost stepfather's son's uncle's baby mama's daughter's best friend's maid's sister's nanny's son from the future! See you then guys. Bye!" After ending the recording, she turned around to Euridice to continue with what she asked of her. "Anyway, it uses the, um... --What are they? The 9mm plasma rounds, I think. It can use the regular bullets too. It also needs a battery to work." Edited November 22, 2012 by Naza Sutera
manthony_Higgs
A slight grin grew on Manthony's face. Well shit, looks like I set damn near everyone off. Good to know I'm trusting my life with such an emotionally stable group. And that spoiled Warmblood girl. One good tussle with a dino and she'll crack. Robert Monroe
~-*-*-*-~ UPDATE ~-*-*-*-~ So, while everyone in the armory enjoyed their little spat, Skala merely watched with a wry grin on his face, chuckling sardonically. "If I know Rob... and believe me, I do, then he's probably chosen you all for some silly "finding yourself" inner strength crap where you'll learn to overcome your flaws by working together and become better people for it through the hardships of the mission... or something", he said half heartedly. You couldn't really tell if he was joking or not. "Otherwise, he'd just send me down, and the two of us would tear some ass like we did back in the last war, hah." As Skala grins widely from his boast, folding his muscular arms, the intercom sounds throughout the armory. "M.S.S. team, assemble in the docking bay for preparation and departure. I repeat, M.S.S. team, assemble in the docking bay for preparation and departure...", it blurts loudly and clearly. Skala shakes his head with a chuckle. "Heheh, looks like that's your call! Follow me, and I'll show you to the shuttle. Hope you got all the things that you need, because who knows when... if at all, you can come back!" With that last statement, Skala opened a secure passageway, motioning for you all to follow. He steps through, and after a good walk of about ten or so minutes, you find yourself back in the familiar sights of the docking bay. The shuttle you had taken to get here was gone, and instead there was a different vessel, much sleeker in design, matching the gothic architecture of the station itself. Its chasis was silvered, and the hull did not bear any coat of arms for Corneria or otherwise. "Looks like you kids get to ride the luxury yacht, hah!", Skala laughs with that typical smart ass tone, and turns to leave as you all assemble before the ship. Robert steps down from the boarding hatch, with Jami beside him and an unfamiliar looking tan salamander dressed in a white coat with twin katanas at his hips, goggles over his eyes visible in the cockpit. "I hope the armory was to your liking, everyone. I hope Skala wasn't too rowdy with you, he's got a sense of humor about him. My friend Dak Kaliero is finishing up the preparations for take off as we speak, so please board up and buckle in", Robert says with that cool, country accent of his. He gestures for everyone to get on! ~-*-*-*-~ Current Music: http://youtu.be/piGXNbpifNU Current Setting: M.S.S. docking bay Posts Allowed: Unlimited Days Until Next Update: Until everyone posts at least once. Objective: Board the ship for the flight to Sauria's surface! Other Notes: Hidi and Russiandog, you guys need to step up with your posts some. Both of you post sparingly, and when you do post, they're very short. I don't mind short posts, and I don't mind quiet characters, but you guys are really lacking in comparison to everyone else. Just because your characters are shy/quiet/have a low charisma score doesn't mean you shouldn't post. You can post a variety of things, such as their inner thoughts, their body language, so on and so forth. RussianDog is doing better than Hidi (Hidi, you didn't even post during the armory!), but you're both lackluster. This is almost the end of the Prologue, after the next update, Episoide 1 begins, and that's when shit starts to get real. If I don't see an increase in your performance soon, I may have to drop you from the RP in some shape or form, and I don't wanna have to do that. Furthermore, you people who aren't on Skype often (you know who you are) should try and get on it more. We discuss a lot of things there in our channel, both relevent to the RP and otherwise! So yeah. Also sorry this update is extremely late.
Gene Inari
The walk back the the shuttle was eerily quiet except for the rhythmic clatter of the groups collection of steps. Gene casually noticed the ones among them with military training or some other rigid form of discipline fell into step with one another, several heavy boot landings thumping in unison stuck out the staccato of steps. Gene was once again unpleasantly surrounded by everyone's negative emotions. Gene mindfully avoided the minor clash of personalities when it happened, but was now slightly regretting his passive stance on the matter. Cooler heads prevailed, but only just. Gene could sense the tensions in a select few; Renard and Amelia especially. Skala's sarcasm did not sit well with Gene either. Already on edge about the implications of a war being the cause or a potentially major block towards their goal of finding the cause and fixing Sauria, Gene visibly scowled. Renardfrost
Renard shook his head to clear it. the announcement had certainly helped. The mission... he thought. And nothing else.... He thought a bit as he forwent any other things he might find in the armory and made it to the shuttle as quickly as he could, walking right past Doctor Monroe with a look of deep thought upon his face as if he were mulling an idea over and over, trying to refine it. He wasted no time in entering the transport and strapping himself in, pulling out a book and a pencil and beginning to write. He had some time to himself, and there would be plenty of time to talk when the others begin to arrive.
Thu'um
Jumping up into the vessel, axle once again found himself impressed with the delicate, yet sturdy design of the interior. He quickly buckled him down the in the seat closest to the cock pit, and took a deep breath. He could feel his heart beating in his chest. He could hardly contain his excitement. To keep himself occupied his pulled out the gps device and began to read the instruction booklet. There were scores of useful features but he need to learn them first. He also programmed several blank areas on the gps with recent findings on the map. He was in him element.
russiandog38
(sorry, ive been a little busy the past few days) Hearing the intercom announcement, Ryan smirked. Finally the mission starts at last. He headed to the shuttle behind everyone else, looking over and messing with his new rifle. He didnt mind the silence. Infact he imbraced it, finding it soothing and comforting. The fact was, this might be the last time he would get to enjoy silence for a while. As they headed to their destination, Ryan wondered what was going on in everybodys minds. This was amission like no other, and he hoped everybody else knew it. Anything could happen on this mission and one little screw up could cost someone their life. He said a quick prayer for everyones safty and loaded onto the transport. manthony_Higgs
Manthony took a look at the new shuttle. Huh. Fancy. The lizard strapped himself in near the front, fiddling the the scope on his new Gungir. He had a gut feeling that the civil war was more important than it seemed. Or maybe I'm just anxious to get back in the field. Well, I suppose it doesn't matter either way. Long as I get paid I'm up for most anything. Naza Sutera
((What is it called when you sorta take control on another person's character? Well, whatever it's called, I'm going to do that a little with Eurydice, Fedora. I'm simply going to imply some actions to wrap up the ammo search situation.)) Amelia and Eurydice had to move quickly to find some bullets for the pistol after hearing the intercom. She wasn't too sure about how much ammo she needed, but she felt that three boxes of 9mm plasma rounds (with 32 in each box), three magazines, and a few AA compact fusion batteries would suffice. She has no idea what to expect, so she really didn't know. She did feel an awkward sense of empowerment, though, from having a small arsenal packed away in her little Louie-V backpack. Awkward, because she felt like she was prepared to hold up a bank or something. Empowered, because she was now "packing heat", as it were, and had some form of protection. Keeping her pace as she walked with everyone else onto the transport, she bit her bottom lip as she concentrated on clumsily cramming some bullets into a magazine, like how she saw someone do on a crime-drama. They made it look so easy in movies. Also, her nails and how she was trying not to chip or scratch her manicure wasn't exactly helping. Her fingers were sore by the time she finished with that mag. When she sat down in her seat and buckled in, she put the magazine in one of the front pockets of her bag. She'd mess with that later. She proceeded to take out a professional digital camera and a sleek touch-screen computer, which was about the size and shape of a composition notebook. Turning on both devices and typing in her password on the tablet, she made sure that they were wirelessly connected. Going into her photo library, she started organizing a few items. Re-naming, re-classifying, and deleting piles and photos that she had already uploaded to save space. Finally, she opened a new folder and synchronized it with her camera. "Sauria", she named it. Gene Inari
Gene followed in after a few others boarded, one thing that was immediately apparent was the level of comfort given to it's passengers compared to the shuttle they arrived in. The interior was more than bare metal and wires. Undoubtedly the craft was much more soundproof, which mean no droning engine noise and ear fatigue to dial up everyone's stress levels. And there were actual padded, cushioned, comfortable seats. Much better than the bare metal slabs they came in on. Gene took his seat graciously, allowing himself to slouch and sink into his spot. Of all the cardinal sins, Sloth was the one Gene most allowed himself to fall prey to. He knew the times to put his nose to the grindstone and do things he did not want to, but he also knew the times he could safely indulge in some laziness and rest. The thought of striking up a conversation with one of the people he sat next crossed Gene mind, but instead, he opted for a catnap. Another opportunity for good sleep didn't seem likely, so Gene took it while he could.
Renardfrost
Renard sighed, shutting his book and and neatly stashing his pencil into an inner pocket in his jacket. He looked at the other fox sitting across from him, his tail twitching idly as he considered attempting to peer into the other psychic's mind.. but he was beginning to question if he even could the other one was quite powerful.. if not so, then he was definitely more experienced. But he merely attributed that to him being much older. But he appeared to be asleep, and a very bad idea to disturb him... but there's only one way he could talk to him without being bothered by the others. He tried to focus only on him... as usual, his thoughts just bounced right off the surface of his mind. ( If minds have a surface that is) He tried again, focusing his thoughts into a sharper form... after they didn't even make it through, he let up. he wasn't so much trying to break in as much as he was just making his presence known and expressing a desire to talk, much like knocking on a door. Gene Inari
Gene was in much the same position he was in when first arriving; eyes closed, head hung low, ears lax, and with his tail and hands in his lap. Gene could also sense Renard reaching for him and he inwardly sighed while finally letting him though. To Gene, telepathy always felt too secretive and subversive. That those 'speaking' had things to hide from common ears. On a simpler level, Gene did not like telepathy in the same sense someone who has a strong sense of personal space did not like being touched, having someone come close to whisper in their ear. This is the second time you have attempted to reach for me. What do you want?
ImagenAshyun
Jami stood aside, clad in a long coat and jumpsuit with a rifle and two pistols. A supply bag slung over her shoulder, her voluminous hair now bunched in a ponytail. Around her ears and strapped to her head is a metallic device with blue lights glowing from slits along the sides. With a radio equipped and other gadgets, she made her way around the docking bay, arms raised as to make herself more visible. "Let's go! Let's go, everyone!" she says, a small smile on her face as the others pass by her. With every individual going past, the lights of her cranial device flash ever so slightly, brain and thought activity picked up. As the others enter the ship, she glances at Rob with a twirl on the ball of her foot. "Is that everyone? I don't think that is." She waves at a nearby guard, who stands to attention. "Cam! Make sure Matthew doesn't get into too much trouble while we're away. And keep him from the bridge, I wouldn't want him to touch anything." She leans a spread hand onto a jutting hip, her tail swishing between her feet. "Maybe I'll give him a new video game to keep him occupied," she mutters quietly to herself. As she did, the cranial device turns a slight purple. Taking notice, she turns a small dial near the temple, and it turns back to a serene blue. Renardfrost
Renard shrank back at the little bit of annoyance he detected in gene's mental voice. there were a couple points lost right there... but he was talking to him... that's a start. Sheesh... for a diplomat you sure have an aversion to mental solicitation. I just wanted some simple conversation without any of these dullards adding their two credits in and sidetracking us.. it won't be long, i merely have a couple questions... you're the only person who I can't figure out.. Your psynergy has no color whatsoever, you can manipulate energies with the utmost of ease.. i'd chalk it up to experiance.. but that's not all of it, is it? While he was considering this, he also added; Also.. you've had this odd feeling to the gazes you gave to me on the way to the bridge... it almost felt like pity or mild revulsion. You're good at wearing a psychic mask, but even breath can permeate through a mask. Those feelings aren't normally projected unless you know key things about someone.. So.. why the funny vibrations? and how much do you know about me to even have the capacity to feel that way? He waited for the response, his gaze locked firmly onto the other fox
russiandog38
Ryan took the seat closest to the door. He wanted to get off the shuttle as soon as possible, because the moment he stepped foot on the planet his job began. He placed his duffle bag in front of him and pulled out a mini screw driver. He examined his gun one last time before he took it appart and put it away. The Intervention was quite diffrent from his SWAT sniper rifle. It had a better scope and a larger mag. Not to mention the longer barrel length and the higher caliber bullet made the handeling a lot diffrent. He hoped he would have time to target practce with it later so he could get a feel for it. Using the screw driver, he loosened the screw holding the barrel on. He took off the barrel and unscrew the silencer, placing them both in the bag. Then he hit the latch on the stock and pushed it in, making the whole gun just a little bit smaller. He moved the screw driver up to the scope and demounted it then began messing with it. Since they were on a ship, adjusting the scope proved difficult. Finally he just gave up and placed both the scope and the stock next tothe barrel. He closed his bag and put it under the seat, then took his bible back out and began to read again.
Gene Inari
Gene slouched further into his seat. To everyone but Ren he appeared totally asleep, out light a light. To answer your first question, not all psychics and magics are alike. There are as many talents and skills as there are people. Yes, experience is part of it, but manipulation of those energies *is* my talent. I cannot make a weapon like you can, but I can do other things. It is true that I have been hiding the true extent of my skills, but one does not play with all their cards face-up, correct? And I must say, you have a spark of talent for observation, but what you saw was merely the surface. I can sense when you peer into the minds of those around us like a nosy child. I could do much the same, but I choose not to. But you are the exception, you interest me. You take those thoughts and feelings you see as absolute truth, but one can lie with thoughts and feelings in the same way they can lie with words. There is no color because, yes, I am hiding something, but I am not hiding the fact something is hidden. What would you find more odd? A lack of color? Or to see a color that you accept as truth but only to find later it has deceived you with misinformation? And I know much about you because you do not know to hide what you may think is private. Just in the same way you casually read the minds of our teammates, I can read you, but in so many more ways than you think. I can sense the layers of your aura and I can feel the artificiality of the machines that give you your strength and endurance. I can pick apart your naivete, demonstrating your lack of experience around other psychics. If I considered you a threat I could of broken those things inside of you. You do not realize, with us communicating like this, we are open to each other, vulnerable. It is why I do not like it. But I digress. To put my point simply, you lack a sense of discretion with your power of perception. It annoys me. But do not allow my superficial thoughts to sway you so. We have a job to do. Yours is to fight and protect us should this civil-war aspect become an issue.
Renardfrost
He'd wince at the veiled threats that he perceived from the mention of naivete and breaking his amplifiers... even though he'd consider that a blessing.. he'd rather just be a normal soulsmith, without the ability to hear thoughts or move things without touching them.. just see psynergy and make weapons, that'd be all he need... He vaguely registered the fact that they were connected, which would mean that gene would pick up on this sentiment. He picked out a novel from his bag, and pretended to read it so the other's wouldn't notice the fact that he was grimacing slighlty and his ears were pinned flat against his skull. I know what my function in this operation is... Combat is the only thing i've known for a long time. and it's not like I even asked for these machines... i assure you i protested most vigoruously... but it's hard to argue with paralytics and a bonesaw.... he thought grudgingly, And.... I am sorry that i peer so much... but i can't help it... I don't have filters like most generic psychics. I always see and hear them, it's like a really bad case of double vision... But that's no reason to be so curt about it. If anything, I was hoping you could teach me how to filter out most of the nonsense I pick up so I can fight better. Only things I've learned are all combat based. I can't do stuff like you can.. and I probably never will, but I figured a little something different would come in handy. He flipped a page, and heaved a sigh. He had basically voiced all he had to say, after his next response he planned to quietly withdraw from his side of the momentary link between them.
