Cyphir
Hi there, Star Fox fans! I'm new around these parts, but I decided to jump into the community in major part due to the Project SFR fan game thread here. I'd been following it for a while, but I recently auditioned for the voice acting portion of the game. Given the amount of high-quality talent working on the project, I figured it'd be good to hop in and - if nothing else - give the creator's a positive nudge for their efforts, along with sharing my audition and perhaps getting feedback on it. As a little about myself: - I'm a novelist, and it's where my passion lies, creatively. It's an absolute blast watching characters and worlds come to life, and I'd have it no other way. Late 2009, in six weeks I wrote a 90k word novel adaption of the Super Mario Brothers universe and storyline, titled Journey of a Kingdom. I'm very proud of it, and the experience of writing it taught me so much (not to mention that it was a total and utter blast to write!). Otherwise, I'm currently working on an original fantasy novel, along with scripting and producing a five-hour long audio drama. - I also enjoy drawing, and have been doing so for about 3 and a half years. It's more of a hobby than anything, but I'm proud of my art all the same. Haven't posted it online much, but you can check out some of it here. Critique is always welcome, should you have it! - Given the reason I'm joining this forum, you've probably also figured out that I enjoy voice acting. A radio drama is what inspired me to write, and I really respect actors who can pull off amazing voices and emotion. Like art, it's mainly a hobby for me, though I have been involved with several projects. I played several characters in a forum-led audio adaption of the Brawl in the Family comic arc, Cocoon Academy (boy, what a mouthful. But you can check out the four completed episodes starting here), and am currently producing/directing a short, original audio drama project that I wrote (here's a short demo clip). And, of course, auditioning for the SFR project here on the forums (you can find a link to my audition on the forum thread). And for some more forum-direct points: Favorite game is Star Fox 64 (though I love the multiplayer and the marvelous soundtrack in Assault), favorite character is Leon (but only with his 64 design and British accent. To me, it has so much more depth and potential than the whole 'rawr, I'm a crazed psycho!' thing), I have never once minded Slippy, have played all the games but Adventures and the SNES original, and would entirely love for the series to make a quality comeback, as it has a truckload of untapped potential. Thanks for reading, and hope to see you all around the forums!
The Shaper
Cyphir! Cyphir Cyphir Cyphir. I'm your new nightmare, Cyphir. My name's Shaper, more commonly known as Zero. And I am the most destructive and antagonistical force on this entire site. Just kidding, of course. Welcome aboard, good to hear that you are working on Project SFR, hopefully that game won't go the way of the other fan games, but depressing nonsense aside, welcome to SF-O. I do hope you enjoy your time here.
Cyphir
Marvelous. Not nine minutes and I already have a nightmare... Thanks for the welcome, Shaper/Zero! (Shero? Zaper? Aghh, I'll just go with 'Zero.') And yeah, agreed on the SFR sentiments. There's a lot of solid talent on the project, but making a game is tough work. They've got a road ahead of them, but 'tis an adventurous one, nonetheless. Hope they keep everything solidly productive.

Ori
Hello Cyphir! From what i've seen of your drawings, and what you said about your other works, i'm sure you'll be a good addition to the artist corner of the forum. There are a whole lot of other artists here (i'm sure Hidi will come greet you shortly ), so be sure to check them out, too. But in other news, it's great to see people getting interested in collaborating with SFR. And to SF-O!

Cyphir
Thanks for the welcome, everybody! I've looked through some of the art threads here, but I'll be sure to check the others out too. (And hey, if any of you have an art thread, feel free to link to it! I'd love to check it out) That's an interesting avatar, what is it? It's from an art-piece I drew, featuring some original characters of mine (full picture is here). It was made to mimic the style of animated films (what with the grittiness of the texture/subtitles/etc.). Has some problems with it, but it's one of my favorite pieces. Thus, avatar! Cyphir
Oh, joy, two supposed destructive and antagonistic forces. *prepares the bomb shelter* Thank, guys, for the welcome. I can't honestly say how much I'll be around the forum as a whole, but hopefully I can be a constructive member nonetheless.

psy_commando
Hey, welcome Sorry, for not welcoming you sooner, I've been having a lot of catching up to do with the forums ! I'm glad you enjoy the project ! I've heard your acting a few days ago, and I was really surprised. It really shows that you like what you're doing. You've been drawing for only 3 years ? You're pretty good despite that. And you're lucky, I couldn't draw for a month or two before running of things to draw, or getting tired of not improving :S And, I'll tell you what I tell everybody that didn't play sf snes. You should really play sf snes, and sf2 too ! It's from an art-piece I drew, featuring some original characters of mine (full picture is here). It was made to mimic the style of animated films (what with the grittiness of the texture/subtitles/etc.). Has some problems with it, but it's one of my favorite pieces. Thus, avatar! I like your avatar too. Your characters and their design are really interesting.
Cyphir
Welcome, but be warned once you become a real and true member here, you'll find it difficult to leave Is that a challenge? *determined face* I guess we'll see if this place sucks me in, then. =) And thanks for the comments, psy_commando. I really appreciate it! Especially about my own characters; I really enjoy coming up with creative, neat designs for characters. Tons of fun!
