Yeah, a friend of mine has it and we play 8-player System Link whenever he has a party. Or when he wants to.... It's a lot of fun. Obviously, he pwns all of us, save for the people who also play it, but I do pretty well, considering I've only played the game about 7 times and don't own it. I kill all of my friends that don't own it. I'm an all-around kinda person, really. I do OK with all weapons, my worst being the sniper, mostly 'cause I leave the look sensitivity at 10. Best weapons are Dual-wieald Plasma Rifle or Magnum+SMG, Shotgun, and sword. Everyone's good with a Rocket Launcher.... My favorite mode is Coag CTF w/8 people, 4 per team. It's long and insane. Much fun undeed. "Hey...where's our flag? Wait a minute...where's Morgan!?" Memorable moment when my friend took the flag and walked all the way back with it. That's ALWAYS funny. But yeah...I'll buy and XBox 360 after I get the Rev. Just 'cause the price'll probably be a bit lower by then and the backwardility library will've gotten bigger. Hopefully then inclue Halo and Halo 2 in that. There's no way they could exclude them. People would go over there and bomb their HQ or something.... As far as XBox Live goes, you've gotta plug it into your modem, or get an Ethernet Port installed. Most people have an Ethernet Port on the back of their modem, if you use Road Runner or SBC Yahoo! I believe I've said it before, but I'll say it again: Halo is worth the $200 for it and an XBox. 'Tis an addiction indeed. But I'd better try to control myself, or I'll start failing school or something eventually.... I did go a little insane a while back due to Halo deprivation. I'd find myself talking to myself without realizing it. 0.o Indeed, I did. And I'd randomly talk about Halo to people. Online play is fun. My friend and I went on a betrayal spree. Seriously, just gimme one in CTF, and I can get over there, kill some people, and splatter plenty of people. I actually got to Running Riot just splattering people.... I wanna see some stuff on Halo 3. It's supposedly gonna be released in less than a year.... T-Bone Posted September 3, 2005 Share Posted September 3, 2005 halo 2 is really sweet, but there are a few things that i dont like. i dont like that fact that there is no fall damage (you play against those kids that panic when you shoot at them and end up falling off a really high ledge. well they should be dead for falling off but they're not), the guns dont recoil (just the smg does), the death lunge with the sword (i dont like to use the sword period because its cheap), and the really really high jump. besides that its awesome. And the shotgun also recoils, in a way. It takes a while for you to be able to shoot again, more that most other weapons anyway. And there comes a point when, if you play enough, you actually learn to be good with and againt the sword. Two words: Plasma Grenades. But it does take some skill to be good with the sword. It's not easy to fully master it, either. Much like the rocket launcher. People that're really good with it can use it -almost- as a sniper. I'd have to say it is, from a technical and gamer standpoint, at LEAST the best FPS made to date. No other game encompasses the variety of attack methods and strategies better than Halo, if you ask me. I play alot on System Link with my friends, loads of fun, yeah. To the recoil comment: All of them do, but they auto-center (just like SMG). There are more defenses than just Plasma Grenades against a Sword user -- pick them off from long range, or get them at medium-short range with a Rocket Launcher (just not too close). Also, they probably won't like it if you dual wield using a plasma pistol and any other weapon. A couple of my favorites are Brute Shot and Covenant Carbine, mainly because they are fun to wield for meh. :3 (Yeah, I'm officially active in this thread now, but only this thread. I've never even SEEN another FPs with such a range of vehicles, sometimes one or two. -Inuyasha I know what you are talking about. but in halo 1 you have a sheild and if you fall from too high you die (well, if you crouch at the right time you dont take any damage). when i mentioned recoil i was referring to the accuracy of the guns. like with the shotgun, when you shoot it the gun kicks back but then returns to the exact postion it was at when you pulled the trigger so the bullets hit the same spot. if you keep firing a gun as fast as you can the bullets should not hit in the same spot each time. i am good with the sword and against people who have it. if you have your timing down you can drop the person with a melee when they do the death lunge. but using the plasma is fun to do. they come running right at you and you stick them with one. boom done. your definitely right with the different things that you can do in the game. kicking people out of vehicles i thought was one of the best things that i have seen in any FPS, not to mention the fact that you can ride in a vehicle even if there is someone from the other team driving it. i still think that game is sweet and i still play it a lot there are just a few things that i dont like that they did with it. thats all. It doesn't make any major impact, and it would NEVER turn the tide of a battle, so there's no point in wasting time and energy programming it. And besides-you're an enhanced human being with more military prowess than any of the marines. Who's to say that your accuracy suffers from mere recoil? If I were making that game, I KNOW I would've never wasted time with that. It's just far too technical. Oh-and you didn't have a shield in Halo-it was just health. At least, that's what I remember.... And most of the time I play System Link with my friends. 4-on-4 team CTF at Coagulation is the most fun I've ever had with that game. "Where's our flag? T-Bone Posted September 5, 2005 Share Posted September 5, 2005 all this talk about halo 2 for some reason made me want to go and play halo one. i just redownloaded xbox connect the other day and played halo one online like crazy. i was shocked at how much different the game actually is from halo 2. i forgot about the fall damage so i died a few times from falling. i also forgot that you cant just as high so i missed a lot of my jumps and ended up getting killed from that. i cant believe how many people still play halo on xbox connect.
