Guest Satoshi
Bungie really listened to the players' complaints about Halo: Combat Evolved -- that's why it's so different than Halo 2. For example, the pistol was really overpowered (massive damage, considering, and the 2x zoom doesn't help). They really overcompensated though.. the magnum is extremely weak and useless on Halo 2 (even dual-wielding doesn't help that much).. XD
T-Bone
yeah, the pistol was really strong in the first one. i think it was 2 or 3 shots to the head and your done. the magnum is good if you use an smg with it. that combo seems to drop people good. Inuyasha
If you pull the trigger fast enough with the Magnum in Halo 2, you can do quite well with it alone. Though it'll most likely require a beat-down in the end.... But a dual-weild Magnum with anothe magnum, a smig, or a plasma pistol really packs a punch. If your graphics card doesn't support it, ESF, then your computer must be quite old indeed. Mine's...what... 7 years old, and it's got a pretty good 3D GPU.... -Inuyasha
Guest Satoshi
It's only good with a plasma pistol, but then again, almost any gun is. Rapid triggering is fine, but compared to the other guns it's fairly wasteful to pick one up. If I was absolutely forced to use a magnum, I'd have to deal with it (in the ways mentioned above) until I could get something more powerful. Inuyasha
All-magnum battles are the most skill-testing, if you ask me. It asks for aim, persistence, and the willingness to beat-down to finish off. It's quite fun indeed.... -Inuyasha
Guest Satoshi
Aim? Sniper rifles with no zooming. Presistence? Sentinel beam. Beat-downs? Best done with SMG duels, or Brute Shots. (Or if you really want to limit it, swords, though.. you know.)
Inuyasha
What I'm saying is that a Magnum match asks for a variety of skills, though not necessarily a strength in each, but it requires you to try and think of a few things. Like Tower of Pwoer. But I think that's a custom thing my friend made.... It's only shotguns, at Ascension, and you get points by killing people at the turret tower. It's best with theams, but free-for-all is hectic. It requires you to be alert and fast, not to mention willing to take risk. It doesn't require much skill, but it calls for some unusual ones, like a strategic hiding spot at times, other times you may simply need to be faster than your enemy, or dodge and then assassinate him. It's a lot of fun. Especially 3-on-3. -Inuyasha
Guest Satoshi
Shotguns are good and skill-testing on the bigger maps, like Coagulation. But on cramped maps, such as Elongation, they are nothing more than cheap kills.

Rogue Fox
I really like the multiplayer maps. They're so much harder than the original Halo multiplayer maps. Need an example. Here's one: SWORDS ONLY + GEMANI = MUCH OUCH! JIM
Guest Satoshi
Rockets, shotguns, or swords (pick one or two) on any cramped map. Yeah, ouch.
Inuyasha
Swords+Lockout=lots of fun. We play this almost every time. It's hectic, frantic, and requires good reflexes. You almost don't wanna lunge with the sword due to fear that you'll lunge and then be killed. My friend downloaded the new maps. Or favorite for some controversial CTF is Relic, but we tend to prefer Slayer at...I forget the name...the town place.... -Inuyasha

T-Bone
Turf! That's it.... Yeah, online can be irritating...so we turn the headset off sometimes.... Seriously, some people should be booted. -Inuyasha I hear you on that. When people keep talking trash to one another I just unplug the mic. The one thing that people dont understand is that its just a game. People take that game so serious sometimes it drives me crazy. I read somewhere that if people talk trash and stuff you can select their name after your done playing and report them to xbox live or something, same goes for people who are cheating. Guest Satoshi
I don't play online. At least I can smack the person next to me (or in the other room after the game is over) if they mouth off. :
