Vy'drach
Any of y'all heard it? If not, it's a very... different, sort of MOBA. Still in beta, and free on Steam. You pick a pilot, and an aircraft. Pilots work kinda like masteries in League of Legends, and Aircraft are the characters. Your aircraft also has a ground mech mode. The aircraft are: Striker - Depending on the skin, looks like a Tomcat or F-22 Raptor, with a Steampunk Tomcat skin also. It's all around, and in mech mode, it can use an energy sword and shield. Chopper - Run of the mill chopper, with a few skins, one being based on the Apache. It's slow, but armoured, and has rockets as a secondary. Bomber - B2 Stealth Bomber. Drops bombs, and has a reduced radar signature it says (haven't played), and mech mode is melee mostly, with a special ability that's ranged. Neo - Forward Swept Wing fighter. Which one it's based off, I have no idea. Fast, agile, and can cloak, but fragile. Saucer - Abduct and brainwash enemy units, and has a blink ability to escape. Osprey - The support type aircraft. Not strong offensively, but it can transport better than others, and it can heal friendly units (not other AirMechs) on the ground, making it good for pushes. A10 Warthog - Durable aircraft with a minigun that can shred things down quickly. But that's all it has, no secondaries or anything. It's special ability is it can hit ground targets from the air and vice versa, but with a damage and accuracy reduction. My aircraft of choice. Your goal is to take bases and destroy the enemy main base. Bases are captured by certain creep units moving in and taking the base, it takes 4 or 5 to take over a base, but that's from neutral status. It can take twice that to take it from an enemy. The creeps are also rather fragile, so need escorting and for you to secure the base usually. You can go in ground form and fire into the base to kill the enemy creeps inside it, but it can take a while (but having several tanks and what not firing into it as well can make it go rather fast). Doing this is helpful as rather than your creep negating the enemy creep, it can take it's slot, allowing for a faster capture. Two interesting things about this game, it doesn't randomly spawn any creeps but default soldiers. The other units, you create through currency earned during the round, and you can pick up and position creeps as you want, taking the soldiers to the enemy base directly, or can give units orders, such as a patrol path, attack and secure the nearest enemy/neutral base, attack the enemy directly, and linking them to units, making them follow that unit. For example, you can tell your tank to attack the nearest base, and it will start rumbling over there, then you can pick up some soldiers and link them to the tank, allowing them to be relatively protected by it. There's plenty of units to choose from when you plan your loadout, offensive units, defensive units, support units, support items, mines, all sorts of stuff. All the while this is going on, the enemy AirMechs (AI or Players) are doing the same, and you can get into battles with them randomly as you try to push the bases. That covers the basics of it, and I suggest y'all at least try it. As I said, it's free on Steam, and a very fast install. And if you do try it out, there's the matter of referrals. When you join for the first time, it will have a flashing pink tab in the upper right asking you to enter who referred you, if anyone. You have until level 5 to do so, and I recommend you do as entering a referral gives you an instant 1,000 "Kudos," which is the equivalent to IP from League of Legends. The person who referred you, will get bonuses as you level up, such as a bit of Kudos for level 5 and 10, as well as some "Diamonds," which are the equivalent to RP from League of Legends. Hell, if you have 250 referred players reach level 10, you can design an item with the DevTeam (which is why there's a TotalBiscuit, ChimneySwift, and HuskyStarcraft item). 500, and you design a pilot with them (Which is why there's ChimneySwift and HuskyStarcraft). 1,000, and you design a skin with them. Anyway, if you give it a try, I'd love it if y'all toss me a referral, name being Vydrach. It is mutually beneficial.
Ori
Sounds interesting. I will give it a try when I have the chance. If my internet doesn't crap out first...
