Vosseleri Makes Stuffs

Hello, first post here, but I've been lurking for a month or so.    First off I have a pair of papercraft models I made as a gift for a friend.  Both are based on the Hetalia patterns by Nibi on Pixiv (note that she is fine with this sort of thing).  Not to shamelessly self-advertise, but I have more pictures of Fox and Falco on Tumblr.  It's just that there are four more pictures and an acompanying wall of text to go with each of them.

Since it sort of almost kind of counts as fanart, I also made a font using a rip of the text from the SNES game.  It's available for download from dA  (complete with another wall of text) for anyone that wants it.

If I can make it work, is it alright if I use that font for a Star Fox 20th anniversary site theme for SFO?

Pretty cool if I do say so myself. :P - Welcome to the forums.

Thank you.   This is only the second time I've gotten a welcome upon joining something that wasn't a disability support group or program.  Anyway, I've got a hat I based on Fox that I made as a birthday present for a friend (the same one I mentioned in the OP because I only have one).  However, his birthday was in the beginning of October and I haven't been able to give it to him yet because reasons.  :<  This is the first time I'm posting a picture of it anywhere because I've wanted to keep it a surprise, but I'm thinking that I might as well show him a picture at this point.

That's actually quite awesome; looks very nice and holds its shape well - I imagine a considerable amount of skill and patience went into crafting it.

Yeah, it took about four days since it's hand-sewn.  I like to leave something like the Science Channel or Investigation Discovery on while I work so it goes a bit faster.  That way I can be productive and learn something.  I have more than enough fabric left to make a matching scarf.  I was thinking that the ends would look like Fox's tail.

  • 5 months later...

Being the obsessive perfectionist type, I decided to go for a second attempt at the hat.  There were several things I tried to improve on.  For the first one, the stripe was just added on top like a patch since I didn't know how to incorporate it into the pattern properly.  This time I fixed that since the way I did it originally was really stupid and awkward.  This time I also made the ears a bit bigger and more vulpine, but they're just slightly bigger and more upright than I thought they'd be (this would've been great for a Fennec hat though).  It's almost exactly how I wanted it and I scanned the pieces so I would be able to modify the pattern at a later date.  Eventually, once I do have a final version of the hat, I'll post  a pattern so others can make their own.

The good thing is that I'll have a sewing machine available for next time, but I would have really appreciated it if someone told me about that before I had sewn two hats completely by hand.
