Hidi
I've been meaning to do this for a while for some reason or another. This may be more of a question for them Canadian and American members. Anyways, how much do you really care about the NHL? How does the lockout mean to you? In certain areas of Canada, hockey is huge, and you can find NHL fanatics all around the cities with NHL teams. Now because of the lockout, you hear people making tons of almost moronic-sounding complaints about how they can't watch hockey on TV. Businesses have pitched their complaints too, but I would give them a little more leeway in their complaining since they are partially right in some of the arguments; people would rather sit in bars and fight about their favourite team in a more public space, and if they play amateur hockey, they won't get the same effect (But really, they should). I could go on forever about my opinion, but I'll make it short. I could honestly care less about the lockout. In many ways, it's better for all the other hockey leagues we've got around Canada. We have tons of amateur leagues in Canada, and those games don't cost an arm and a leg to go and watch. There are many ways the NHL could, and should be rethought in order to perform better, both for the players and the managers/other staff. Things like the move to get rid of fighting: Many of the fights in NHL games are staged, and wouldn't happen if nobody watched NHL hockey. My main reason is that amateur hockey is much better executed and played than NHL hockey. Even the AHL, which is a step below the NHL is a much better league to go and watch (The tickets are MUCH cheaper too). Poor management got them where they are now, and really, instead of coming up with a solution, the NHL needs to be rethought.

Hidi
I'm not really a fan oh Hockey, though so I don't really care. The thing about that song is it goes all to what I'm arguing. Notice too that he'a in a local rink (From the accent, I'm going to guess that guy's Quebecois), meaning if you can't watch NHL hockey, go to the rink and watch the amateurs play (Tickets are real cheap!). Amateur and junior hockey in some respects is more enjoyable to watch and follow than NHL hockey.

psy_commando
Well, hockey died in 2003-2004 for me. Because of the Canadiens loosing all the time and playing like crap .. And the NHL can just disapear for all I care ! The only thing they do is build a brand, and sell licenses and NHL merchandise..

The Shaper
I care so little that I didn't even click on this topic until 8 days after it was made, and even then that was by accident.
Hidi
I don't know whether I should hit the "Like" button to that or not. I decided today to put in a few bucks to watch World Juniors (Canada vs America). Not bad, and much cleaner game than most NHL games. Although they have said if people "play nice" there may be a season. Either way, cutting out half a season isn't much of a season.
Snys93
Well it seem the NHL is back up and running. Now my friend with no life, who eats my food and bad mouths it has his hockey.
Hidi
I'll assume then he was bad-mouthing the lockout too. Damn, the media was all over a couple rinks in the city asking people how much they care and stuff, but what actually makes it on TV is people bitching about how it sucks.
