How do I get a gif to work as a profile pic.

it has to be 200x200 or lower, otherwise it won't work, if I remember correctly.

 

If it exceeds that size you can use GIMP or any other utility that edits GIF animations to shrink it down to 200x200.

It has to be within a certain size. I forget the exact dimensions, but the Andross gif I was using as an avatar before was 80x80 and 69.1kb, so somewhere within that range I guess.

It's filesize that matters, though I can't seem to be able to find the setting so I can't tell you exactly what the limit is, but judging by what Dras says, it is probably 100kb.

 

If that GIF flashes a lot you shoudn't use it as an avatar anyway.

Ohh, this things way too big then.  Well poop. (and dont worry, it's just him pumping his arms, no strobes or anything like that.)
