Backup pony thread

So yeah. That was a nice little storm we had there in the other thread. I'm guessing we go by the same business as usual with show, games, pics, comics and general chaos like the other thread. However, I'd like to add a few rules:

1. General consensus for Equestria girls seems to be negative so let's avoid talking about the spinoff.

2. Due to it being labeled alicorn drama on derpibooru and getting its own section on mlpforums (also mostly negative), I think it'd be safe to avoid discussion if possible.

3. If you feel an argument coming, take it to the PM please, no matter how small it is.

I'll do a bit of revision later. I only had 3 hours of sleep and I want to rest before my next class. Until then, have this:

I'm still wondering what sort of storm I missed. I looked at the last two pages of the "Bronies.....Unite!" page and couldn't find anything that seemed to be what one would call a storm. I like debate about something as long as it doesn't get out of hand. No matter. I guess somewhere in there something got out of hand.

Anywho, I've grown a bit bored of MLP:FiM as of late. Still, I still enjoy it. My favorite episodes ever were the last two. They were the darkest and the closest MLP has come to being, say, Lion King quality (though to compare them to the lion king is a stretch, that's what I was reminded of). I liked how serious things got, and I liked the dark undertone the song "This Day Aria" gave. I usually don't like MLP songs. I loved This Day Aria. 

Anyways, my favorite characters in MLP:FiM are Fluttershy, Luna, and Twilight Sparkle.

EDIT: I meant to say that my favorite episodes were the last two episodes of season 2.

2. Bronies. Bronies are still welcome as members, but discussion of "bronyism" and the like are now off-limits. There are brony forums out there if you wish to be part of that culture. If you want to have a discussion on the MLP show as a TV show, that is fine. But the brony culture has driven-down the maturity level here and has been a contributing factor to recent drama. Remember: SF-O is a Star Fox fansite, not a MLP fansite.

 

Note that discussion of the television show itself is fine, though any deviation from that puts this thread up for potential locking.

That's because there wasn't one, contrary to what some people have stated.

I have to catch up a smidge on the episodes because I have no idea what this Twilight Sparkle alicorn talk is about yet. That'll probably happen after I fix my desktop which decided it wanted to catch on fire.

One can't talk about Bronyism, so therefore this thread is about the TV Show itself? If so, that's a fine loophole you've found!

well, the reason i ask is that the show is over, and will not be running for the next several months, so there won't be any new episodes to discuss. and some of those specific episodes have controversial aspects that would probably prompt the same shitheadedness that got the last thread shut down.

 

that and "bronyism" is so integral to how the users here understand the show that leaving this thread around just seems to be inviting a violation of that rule.

 

so this kind of feels like the internet forum equivalent of a speed trap.

Replying here again just to let you guys know that this bait-fest of a topic has the staff's full attention. Hope you're happy, Xid, what a great way to show that bronies such as yourself just want peace.

 

We're clarifying the policy. A brony topic, we're considering (providing someone doesn't pull another THIS TOPIC) however brony content, or expression of bronyism, will strictly be restricted to that topic. No marcos, no memes, no songs in any other part of the forum. Not saying that every macro, meme, or song posted elsewhere has to be Sterfax but the brony-side of things took over other parts of the forum. The reason we are limiting brony content elsewhere is to make modding a bit easier, to prevent what happened a couple of days ago AND MAEK US BETTAR MODS.

 

Just to note, try not to have the idea that we're anti-MLP. Some of the staff, including myself, enjoy the show and I personally have various dolls and stuff. But for the sake of SFO, everything has to be in moderation.
